Boot leaking in water!!!
Hi everyone, hvnt been on here for a while as my Skoda has been trouble free up untill now! Any help with this is much appreciated, I've a fl Octavia mk2 vrs hatch and I've noticed in the spare wheel well there was a puddle of dirty road water, after a bit of testing with a watering can and also using the rear wash system I've narrowed it down to the rubber grommets that sit in the spare wheel well, please see picture, what im wanting to know is are these grommets replaceable or is it possible to just run some sealent round the grommets to stop the water coming in, interested to know if any other users have had this problem and how they rectified it!! Thanks again for any help I may receive

Dsg paddle shift extensions
Hi, any help with this much appreciated, I own a dsg equipped mk FL Octavia vrs, I'm wanting some paddle extensions like the title suggests, with so many to choose from I'm wondering if some of the forum members could share with me which ones are the best to get? Obv I don't want no cheap tat as these will be a present from my wife so don't want to waste my money on cheap nasty ones, I would like carbon effect ones if possible as my car came with the carbon effect inlays on the doors and dash, I would be appreciative of some links to the products fellow forum members are currently using on there dsg equipped cars, thanks again for any help with this

Cr 170 cega engine inlet manifold removal and refit
Thanks alot m8, yeah I've seen that video b4, the engine is different to mine with the oil filler being at the opposite side although the intake looks very similarππ» thanks for the advice, going to attempt it on Sunday if weathers ok, when the car is idling I'm sure I can here air escaping, but with the leak appearing to be on the timing cover side of the inlet I wsnt sure if it was the belt wizzing round causing the sound, it defo sounds like it's escaping though, one had erg mapped out so should be no issue if it does failππ» when I run my fingers around the left hand side if the intake there's oily residue from were the black plastic manifold bolts down to the ports so suspect it's the gasket leaking or the garage who done swirl delete hasn't fitted new gasket, am I right in sayin a new gasket should be fitted if inlet has been off? Thanks again for help

Cr 170 cega engine inlet manifold removal and refit
Hi there, like the title suggests I am looking at taking my inlet manifold off my cega engined 170 TDI, the reason being is I recently had a swirl valve delete kit fitted from a so called garage recently and when I have got the car back its emiting an oily smokey vapour coming from the left hand side of the intake manifold njust behind the hp fuel pump, my suspitions are that they either hvnt used a new inlet gasket or they hvnt fitted it properly!! In pretty sure I can here air escaping too! Could anybody who has removed and refited the intake on a cega engined 170 tdi offer any advice? In know the fuel rail makes it tricky to get to the inlet bolts, does the fuel rail need to come off? I've read somwere that the car engine needs to be cycled to releave pressure in the fuel system? Any help or links to guides on this is much appreciated, whilst I'm on I'm going to clean egr and Inlet out, what is the best product for this? Once again thanks for any help with this

Where to blank erg valve on Cr 170 tdi
Hi again everyone, just wanted to add a little to this thread, egr has been mapped out, car drives much better low down, and just altogether better tbh as it had stage one map put on, I took jrs advice and looked at the diagram listed with the emulator on eBay, the picture of the engine is different to mine, I believe my engine is a gen one and had the Oil filler on the left-hand side if your looking at engine from the front!! So its looking like I will blank the egr from were the pipe comes off the egr valve, annoyingly my egr blank plate has not turned up and they have sent me a refund, could any of you fine people send me a link for the correct blank plate for my car?? Struggling to find one tbh!! Thanks again for.your help yousππ»ππ»

Where to blank erg valve on Cr 170 tdi
Thanks very much for this, clears it up for me, for sure I will use the blank plate I have, I tried to trace the pipe that connects to the egr and runs towards the the engine it's self as someone mentioned to block it off were it meets the engine but it seems mine disappears to were I crnt see were it goes, so would it be best to blank it were the pipe meets the egr? Thanks agin for the replys, this forum is full of helpful people π

Where to blank erg valve on Cr 170 tdi
Hiya, just a bit of background to this, I had a swirl valve position sensor fault that was bringing the EML on intermittently so decided to have a a tuner fit a swirl valve delete kit and stage one remap, egr and dpf left in place, when I got the car home from the tuner the EML came on and stayed on! Took car back were they diagnosed that the egr valve was now thowing up faults! So this is were it brings me to asking the questions about were to fit the blank plate, I've lost trust in the tuner who originally done the work so have some else who is going to map out the egr and dpf! I've been told off the new tuner I won't need a blank plate!! Which brings me to another couple of questions, will the egr be mapped shut? Or should it be mapped open and also after the egr is mapped out would I be able to then slot my blank plate in without any EML coming back on? I'm wanting it in as I know the crap will still be circulated back into my intake, or is that not the case with the egr being mapped out? Thanks very much for your replies and time, cheers
