How to Guide - Superb 3 OEM Intake Mod
ah, I've not released the bonnet mechanism. I'll have a look at that tomorrow sometime. Thanks.

How did you get to the bottom screws on the grill, and the centre one above the ACC?

How to Guide - Superb 3 OEM Intake Mod
Thanks. At the top of the image, there are two clips and 7 screws. Once those are undone, the plastic above the grill under the bonnet should come away. I've managed to get to six of those screws and the two clips. The middle (final) screw I think can be accessed through the pop-off bit in the grill in front of the radar sensor. The sensor needs removing though which is risky. It's either that way, or whole bumper off job.

Superb 280, improve none existent exhaust note?
I looked one of those. Only £50-60 including delivery https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vibrant-Performance-1794-Bottle-Resonator/dp/B001804TPI/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=vibrant+performance+resonator&qid=1604956354&sr=8-1 I don't suppose you have some sounds you can upload or email?

Superb 280, improve none existent exhaust note?
I think I'll probably leave the exhaust for the time being. Having listened to the 0-60 noise of the Superb and Golf R on Youtube, they sound very very similar. I did come across this video, I think this exhaust sound great, especially the first part of the video where it's got a deep rumble. The 2nd part of the video sounds a bit chavy, but I like the way that exhaust has the option. Well out of my budget though I would imagine. Compare it to this pull away at the start of this video, where all you can hear is the turbo. No exhaust at all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqL1zjGD79M&ab_channel=HipstaMoto

Disconnected then reconnected front radar and now I get front assist not available message
Update: I noticed the sensor wasn't at a right angle to the road, so I got out a measuring tool and adjusted it so each side of the sensor was the same distance away from the bumper in the hope it fixed it, and it did!

Just to add, word of warning. It might not be a good idea to remove the radar sensor if you have one. It looks like they need recalibrating and it's not cheap! I've had to book mine in for recalibration now that I've tampered with mine, so I'll get this mod done before the recalibration.

Disconnected then reconnected front radar and now I get front assist not available message
One of dealerships I spoke to said to try glass replacement companies. I rang National Windscreens who has a place not far from us, and I've booked in there next week £192 inc vat. Hopefully it clears itself before then.

Disconnected then reconnected front radar and now I get front assist not available message
£324... WOW! Might try getting the error reset by a local specialist first on the off chance that it doesn't come back. Only one dealer that can do it in at least 60-70 mile radius! Thankfully it's the dealership closest to us, but it just means I can't try and get it done cheaper elsewhere.

Doesn't matter. After some research it looks like i'm going to have to pay to have it recalibrated. I've obviously moved it's position.

Disconnected then reconnected front radar and now I get front assist not available message
As the title says. While looking into something I've disconnected the radar sensor at the front of the car and reconnected it when I was finished, but now when I start the car I see a 'Font assist not available' message. Any ideas what I've done?

How to Guide - Superb 3 OEM Intake Mod
I had a look at doing this to my car as well. I've not managed to complete the job yet, but I do believe this is going to be possible without removing the bumper. It is however, very fiddly. From what I can see, you can remove some screws and plugs on the top bit of plastic around the bonnet latch, then pull the plastic up enough to be able to get to 6 of the 7 screws holding it to the front grill. You have to have good hands/fingers here to get it and catch the screws before the drop down when taking them out. There's one final screw you need to remove to get this bit of plastic off, and it's right in the centre, above the radar sensor. It's a pig to get to, but if you remove the sensor (two bolts), then you should be able to get to the screw with a torx allen key. Once that's removed, the whole top section of plastic should be free to pull away giving you full access to be able to unblock the airflow using whatever method you choose (drill holes, sonic saw or dremel). I got as far as the last screw in the centre of the grill, so I've ordered some torx allen keys and I'll give it another go once they've arrived.

Superb 280, improve none existent exhaust note?
I'll try and speak to an exhaust specialist and see what they say. Thankfully I've got one of the proper 280's without the GPF

Superb 280, improve none existent exhaust note?
Am I right in thinking that an exhaust specialist could swap out the existing resonator with another one that lets a little more noise through without having a drone?

Is that using standard backboxes? They almost look factory.

Superb 280, improve none existent exhaust note?
That is exactly it. Ideally I'd like something on-par with what's available from the factory from other manufacturers, not something that's going to shake the neighbours windows. It seems options are limited, and maybe it's something I'll just leave for now. As for the flaps on the exhaust. To me, they don't do much at all, but, if they only open at full throttle, then at that point the noise of the engine drowns any additional noise from the flaps being open. Has anyone tries jamming the flaps open or coding them so they're open, is there any difference in exhaust note lower down in the ref range where the engine noise isn't as loud? Maybe it's possible to have the tips removed from the OEM exhaust and put onto a custom exhaust? Problem then is I'm aware that at some point I'll be getting rid of this car, so I want the option to be able to revert most of the changes back to stock fairly easily.

Yeh this is the problem. It seems the cheapest option would be to get an anti-drone delete pipe for a golf r and have it fabricated to the fit onto the Super... and then hope it's what I'm looking for. Or the other solution as mentioned about, change the intake, but from what I've read you don't get really much extra sound from the intake unless you go down the open cone route, and I don't like that as it is doesn't look OEM. At least the R600 intake does look OEM in a way. Once I'm done, I'm going to get myself out there, tearing around outside of old peoples homes and bungalows causing a nuisance with my anti-social behaviour.

Superb 280, improve none existent exhaust note?
I think you're completely missing the point. I'm driving out of my way now to get 99 ron. I'm getting a stiffer roll bar fitted to improve handling a little. I want the car/exhaust to have a nice subtle note to it that I can here in the car when I'm driving (for my pleasure), that is well within legal noise limits and in a way that doesn't appear chavy and keeps the car looking and sounding as stock as possible. Which part of that is anti-social and makes the car no longer a sleeper? I've asked for some advice/suggestions, and so far your posts have been about as helpful as a box of matches in a forest fire.

Superb 280, improve none existent exhaust note?
that's the thing, the exhaust doesn't seems to make any noise at all, even with the windows open. I'm not concerned if other people can here it, as long as I can. In fact, I'd be happy if I could fit a sound generator like on the Octavia vrs because at least it provided a nice note inside the cabin.

Superb 280, improve none existent exhaust note?
I really want to improve the exhaust note coming from the car, especially under acceleration. At the minute, you can't hear the exhaust over the engine. I've read most of the posts I can find on modifying the exhaust, but none seem to suite what I'm trying to achieve. What I'm trying to achieve is a nice exhaust note under acceleration, no droning inside the cabin, not boy racery loud, and all while keeping the stock look(exhaust tips). The cheapest option seems to be a resonator delete, and while this meets much of my criteria, it can leave a drone in the cabin around 70 mph which I don't want in a family car. A custom exhaust is another solution, but it's costly and I'd be worried about the losing the stock exhaust tips. I know some have fitted AMG tips that look similar, but I want the stock tips or exact replicas. I don't want the car to look blatantly modified in any way. For the Golf R, there seems to be a BCS resonator that is supposed to cancel out the drone, I don't suppose anyone has tried this on a superb? Has anyone tried any other kind of resonator? Has anyone tried anything else? Really keen to get some suggestions. EDIT: Forgot to add, my wife has a Mini Cooper S, and it sounds fantastic, but at cruising speeds it doesn't intrude into the cabin. I'm always disappointed when I jump from her can back into mine (exhaust note wise).

What are the supporting mods for 400? intercooler, air intake and downpipe?
-
Remapped
I've filled up from empty with Shell V-Power, I 'think' there is definitely a difference. All I need now is an uprated turbo, downpipe, air intake, intercool and another map and I should be good for 400 - 450bhp. If only I could justify the cost.
-
Remapped
I had seen that, and it's something I definitely want to do. I'm just not a fan of removing the whole bumper to do it. I did some research and it may be possible to do it without removing the bumper, but I need to look at it in more detail.

Thanks, maybe I got the wrong end of the stick, or maybe it's in the US. I read some forum posts somewhere that said the label on the fuel filler cap for the Golf R was 99 ron, and using anything less would result in a reduction in power. I can't remember where I read it now, but I obviously read something wrong.

The tuner also said that he struggled to keep the intake temps down, I don't know if this is something specific to the Superb. Went onto to say that if i were to do any other engine upgrade, he'd recommend an intercool as that would release 10 or so BHP. Upon reflection, I've over the moon with the tune. With V-Power maybe it'll put out over 350 BHP, and that's more than enough really, and at least I know the engine isn't being pushed right to it's limits. I can't highlight how much of a difference there is in the torque and how it's delivered. In sport mode, 3rd gear, foot down, it's absolutely brutal and really does force you back into your seat.
