  1. Fabia MK111 2016. The drivers side window will go down but has become temperamental when selected up. It can take several goes at selecting the switch to the up position before it responds. Once it does start moving up it will close normally. Is this likely to be an issue with the switch or something else, perhaps the regulator? I have snapped a key blade. Any recommendations for getting a replacement blade, a new key fob and the associated expense is not required as the current one works?
  2. I just rang up my local Skoda dealer and ask the parts department for a quote and to tell me the part number. Unfortunately I don't have a record of what the part number is myself.
  3. Thanks for your response. Just to clarify did you just put the new battery in without draining the battery as in the video?
  4. Title should be 1.4tdi, for some reason it won't let me edit the post.
  5. Had mine done on my 2016 1.4tdi mainly through the fear factor of destroying the engine. Expensive at £400. I was reading that on the same engine in the Polo they only recommend an inspection at 60000. Unfortunately I don't know enough about cars to make a well enough informed decision but suspect I have waisted lots of £££££££.
  6. I was wondering if I could do a straight swap of the Bosch battery in the image for the original Varta battery without having to have the battery management computer recoded?
  7. Wife is down sizing from her Octavia which is nearly 15 years old and we are becoming a two Mk111 Fabia house as I have a 16 plate 1.4tdi Pre reg Colour edition, 8 miles registered on the 30th of September. Price was £13105 with little in the way of negotiation room. Paid the deposit yesterday and will collect next week. If any one fancies a similar car they have two others at £12900 without a spare wheel and tool kit at Rainworth Skoda.
  8. Have you seen these at Superskoda. I would be a little cautious of buying of Ali Express http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/FABIA-III/Fabia-III-hood-power-damper-set-KI-R This is how to do it on an Octavia, I would imagin it is similar. It looks an easy job.

  10. Has any one replaced the drivers door seal? Is it easy?
  11. Could I ask if you replaced your seal yourself and if it was an easy fit as mine has a big hole in it and needs sorting before winter sets in?
  12. No problem. Owners manual available on line here https://manual.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com/Model/Fabia_NJ Make sure you ask for a printout of all the service history when you collect the vehicle as they no longer have a book for recording services.
  13. I think my 1.4tdi is an SE on a 16 plate and it doesn't have heated seats. This link should enable you to down load previous brouchures on this page https://www.autoevolution.com/cars/skoda-fabia-2014.html#aeng_skoda-fabia-2014-10-mpi-6mt-60-hp
  14. I wish those dark wheels were standard. Mine has the normal alloy's, I can't stand them as they soon look dirty and are hard to get really clean.
  15. I hard wired the camaera Viofoa129 but never bothered to swap the cable to the drivers side as due to health reasons (recovering from Leukaemia) the car is currently mostly driven by my daughter who uses her phone to play music rather than listen to the radio. I understand that the DAB receiver could be in the rear screen window and so the camera is likely to always interfere with DAB. I did put some ferrite cores around the cable but this did not help. I emailed the service department of the garage that supplied vehicle asking for confirmation of the location of the DAB receiver bit they did not bother to reply.
  16. Had a rear disc with a crack in it after just 25K and 2 and a half years. Both were quite badly rusted. Was not impressed and obviously replaced them and the pads. Would have had a moan to Skoda UK about the crack but as it was not long after having been seriously ill I just couldn't be bothered.
  17. I fitted Bosch A556S blades to my 2016 Mk3 UK RHD Fabia. They are 24 and 16inch or if you prefer 600 and 400mm. They are tight to get in but do fit.
  18. Could any one tell me the location of the DAB receiver and where the cables run on a Fabia Mk111 RHD 2016 build vehicle? I did email the service department at the supplier of the vehicle but they couldn't be bothered to reply.
  19. On a Fabia Mk111 I routed the cable for a Viofo a129 along the near side head liner on a UK Right hand drive vehicle. I have emailed a Skoda dealer but they did not respond to confirm the location of the receiver on this vehicle. The rear camera interferes with DAB reception. Rear camera on DAB doesn't work, disconnect the rear camera and DAB works again. I am going to try some Ferite Cores around the cable and might consider moving the cable to the other side of the car if I can get confirmation of the position of the DAB receiver. The A129 is not a bad dash cam for the money but has some issues, it is disappointing that it can interfere with DAB, this is a known issue with dash cam installations and manufacturers have had time to come up with a solution however I can live without DAB radio if I can not solve this problem.
  20. Search for independant Volkswagen mechanics in your area. There are some very good ones who do a much better job than a lot of main dealers do.
  21. Compare the insurance groups here https://www.parkers.co.uk/car-insurance/insurance-groups/
  22. Have put a dash cam in my Fabia today but not yet hard wired. The DAB radio no longer works but if I unplug the rear cam from the front dash cam then DAB reception is OK again. Obviously the cable to the rear camera is interfering with the DAB received. The cable is routed along the passenger side roof lining (right hand drive vehicle). I am going to try moving the cable to the driver's side and see if that makes any difference as I have read suggestions that the receiver is on the near side of the vehicle but would like to get definite conformation before I do move the cable.
