  1. Cheers for that mate, yes it was from motorpoint, but ive never seen the EGR stutter to be that much of a prob so never bothered going down that route. Live in Derby and wondered if anyone had used motor-plus ? and if so whether a large indipendent like that would compromise my warranty. Bottom line is, don't really wanna go to SUK (Clock garage) in case they see tyre wear and come to the same conclusion = remap.
  2. Hi Guys, 1st service due on my Fabia vrs in 1100 miles according to the service indicator. Would like some advice on were to take it and how much it is likley to cost etc.. as its remaped should i take the green airfilter and cupra intake off and revert back to stock ?? Had the car from new (car supermarket nov06) no major probs apart from slight nsf knock from suspension, and it eating the front tyres. just get a gut feeling that SUK dealer will try and be arsy with me because i have a car imported from malta and not from there stock list...
  3. emailed james my orig map and he emailed me two modified ones back for a small fee. no probs at all why worry about warranty??? just buy a programmer and re-flash when its service time.
  4. i like the blue, black loooks lovely but stays clean for 20 mins!
  5. welcome mark. Is that a left hooker or is the pic reversed?
  6. stick with the Furby anytime matey. Poeple forget Modeo's are still made by ford.
  7. sounds like you need the fault codes stored in the ecu read to find out whats happening. any indipendent vw/audi/seat dealer will be able to help using vag-com diagnostic software and a cable. ask around the fourums here about anyine in your area to do this. Regards, Mitch.
  8. i got an new 56 black magic with extra headrest and mats for £10999 motorpoint car supermarket.
  9. try this too: uncheck "automaticly connect to non preferred networks" in advanced of the windows wireless networks bit. otherwise your client machine will drop connection when it sees another A.P within range no mattter how weak. to log on to the router type its IP in your browser.....http:\\192.168...etc... to find what it is do an ipconfig in a dos box, your routers ip is the gateway. Transmission channels chould be in the wireless section on the router.
  10. Gents, I Too got a remap. wanted to do it myself tho. purchased a bare bones kwp2000 from ebay for £25, saw chipboosts ad on ebat, rang him up and asked if i read my ecu and emailed him the dump, he could re map it. He did for £75.00!! I sent him my std map, he sent me back 2x maps! 1x strong and 1x stronger!! (guess wich one i used) I now have a 180bhp map wich is awsome and the abillity to revert back to stock within 30 seconds! all for about £100.00!! i'm happy!
  11. if you really want to give hackers a hard time turn off dhcp and go to static ip's. turn off ssid transmitting. change the default ip range and use WPA2 with AES encryption.
  12. access control (mac address filtering) is very hackable.
  13. the most likely thing is that someone has logged on to your router and looked at connected clients. then they simply scan the ip range for pc's and printers, thin instaled the driver for your shared printer. to gain access to your access controlled network they would just have to sniff a few packets transmitted from the router to get a valid mac address, then clone it on to there pc. not to say that i would ever do this of course
  14. "presumably nothing else can get through?"the 1st rule in security is not to assume something is secure
  15. if you do have wireless then enable wpa enctyption, also hide your ssid on the router or change it from "netgear" for example to home or somthing non specific. don't use mac address filtering and wep as its a joke and can be hacked within seconds. there are other measures that can be taken, please ask and i we will help you.
  16. 205 GTi 1.9 masterpiece! If only they still made them like that.
  17. £10999 56 plate metalic paint third head rest mats car supermarket
  18. fast! versatile, economical. nothing else ticks all the boxes.
  19. errrm sorry dude i think perhaps ive grown out of that kind of thing? i don't get it. looks like a maplins/halfords accident.
  20. Avons are always very good grip but have low life expectancy. Dunlops tend to be similar.
  21. another victim, 1 week old 56 fabia vrs, engine misses a beat usually at low revs pulling away after changing down. 400 miles on the clock. We guys need to stick together and perhaps point out that programs like watchdog take a dim view of companies that use regulations to hide behind.
  22. if you were correct then the revo map would not have gave the crc beep to confirm that modifications had been preformed on the non revo car, and indeed gave a big increase in power etc.. whith this in mind my question was this? is the instruction set generic enough to mean the same on a diesel ecu as a petrol. i may ask the question to a revo dealer in the guise of "i have changed my car" etc... will let you know.
  23. would i ?? cus i pruchased my revo second hand from a owner who also had a 1.8 t cupra, i used it and it worked! my cupra had not been anywhere near a revo dealer. didn't think that the command set in the SPS was unique to revo maps, but was bespoke to the ecu / engine map expected.
  24. thanks mate the seat leon cupra is a 1.8 20v turbo petrol. its just that i was lead to believe that the revo does not do a complete ecu flash, just generic value changes , ill be in touch when i get it. Mitch.
  25. Hi Peeps, I take delivery of my new Fabia VRS Black magic next thursday Got if for 10,999 from a car supermarket, sounded like a good price to me. I already own a seat leon curpa and wanted to know a few thins with regards chipping etc.. I wanted to know what it the best way to increase the bhp of the skoda. I already have: REVO SPS1 for the cupra VAGCOM and cable KWP2000 but no map that stated VRS fabia specificly. Was also wondering if the map on the SPS was generic enough to work on the fabia or weather i had to get it reloaded ??? Kind Regards, Mitch.
