  1. Did you buy the ebay mintex brakes ?, i need to get some pads and discs for mine. How are they going ?????

I havnt yet recieved an answer to my email asking which model they fit as the listing is somewhat contradictory so no not even purchased yet

If or when i do ill let you know but ive got to do something soon as my disks are not good at all :(

  2. The TDi has different front brakes to the 1.8T 4x4.

    Thanks Ross

I think ill have to contact the seller to see exactly what it is he`s selling

If you look at the listing the disks and pads are for a 1.9TDI 4x4 and also it

    states

    "FITS THE FOLLOWING

    SKODA OCTAVIA 1.9 TDi

    06/1996 - ONWARDS

    ALL MODELS INC COMBI"

This is what had me assuming they are compatible with mine so i think a quick emails in order

  3. pull really hard!

Steve`s right but with a little care if that makes any sense, had one like this on a citroen that

snapped half the thread off cos it wouldnt budge it caused more problems than enough as the

car was being sold the same day

So as a complete contradiction be tough but with care and it should come out

  4. Apologies for the double post as this is a question ive got in the items wanted section but thought it will get more of a viewing here as i need an answer to this

can anyone confirm that the octy MKII Sport alloys will be a direct fit for the MKI or do they have a slightly different centre fitting

  6. I got completely ripped by one dealer, but I can't recommend another highly enough.

Some dealers are ar$es about things, others are flexible, which means I will go back even if it is a tiny bit more.

That is so so true ive got two dealers where i am and could quite happily set fire to one of them (in a manner of words) for there complete lack of interest arrogance ignorance outright rudeness and stripping the thread on my sump plug just for good measure

whereas the other are brilliant very helpfull knowledgable and are always happy to go that little bit extra without being asked so im happy to travel that bit further and pay a bit more if it comes to it

Such a huge contrast in companies within a 20 mile radius of each other

  7. Nice looking motors it will be interesting to see them in the flesh

I find the references to mini metro`s during the Scout review a little concerning and wish my russian wasnt so rusty

Not sure if they were comparing or saying its nothing like or saying weve welded a metro bit in here :D

  8. water was leaking under the cd changer (there is a connection between pipes here)

Cheers for the heads up on where to find this joint sweedish ive been suffering from a soggy bottom and its had me going for a while

Quick look under the cd changer and lo and behold a puddle, it must leak through from there somewhere as the wetness has been soaking into the floor panel

    sorted now nice one

  9. Hi John

Theres a sleeve around the fuel filter holding it in place by a long threaded nut and bolt with a crosshead top on the engine side of the sleeve which you need to loosen to remove the filter, no need to remove it completely as the filter will slide out of the top when loose enough

Daylight will help you here ;)

Personally i would replace the fuel line clips with jubilee but the other clip is reusable
