  1. Is there a guide somewhere for coding the large MPH display on VDCS? I have access to VDCS this afternoon for another purpose but have wanted to do this for a little while! G
  2. So - just to confirm... down the passenger side? And under/ behind the glovebox? Had a bit of a look at running behind the glovebox the other day - looks like hard work, am I wrong?
  3. Nice - thanks for that @Nathanio. Has anyone had any experience running these from the central light console to the radio?
  4. Happy Christmas all! Looking to use my VAG OEM microphone that is already installed with my new aftermarket (Sony) head unit... the sony has a 3.5mm mic in... and the skoda one is on the proprietary VAG connector... The Sony unit does come with a microphone that I can use - but my god is it big and ugly looking! I was wondering if there was a way of adapting the connector on the end of the VAG OEM mic, to a 3.5mm plug, so I can use it with my new head unit? Does anyone have a photo of the connector, or know the pin out? I assume it is just a plus/ minus/ ground (common) - but being VAG I could be wrong. If that is the case - I can just chop the connector off and attach a new one on... Any help would be appreciated! Hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas day! G.
  5. Yeah - okay. Not sure those are going to work. I need it to terminate as USB A, and the audio would need to terminate as RCA...
  6. Hey all, Got a bit bored of my Admunsen+, so I am going to replace it with a Sony XAV-AX3005DB which has Android Auto.. A have a couple of questions though: I need to plug my phone in to use Android Auto - so I need to mount a USB socket in the cabin somewhere to avoid a trailing cable. I am looking at mounting it in one of the blanking plates next to the gear stick... has anyone done this before? The new head unit has DAB... but my car doesn't have a DAB aerial - is there a way to use the existing aerial? Any help hugely appreciated! G
  7. And I would be replacing my Admunsen+; even more of an upgrade!!
  8. Weird how people differ isn't it... I never use the nav in the maxi dot display...
  9. Okay - given all of this.. New question... is it worth extending the warranty? What do people think? G.
  10. Thanks all. Can't believe that it costs that much to have a service book - having said that I am all for putting stuff online and in the cloud, but it should really be accessible to the owner of the car without having to visit a garage!
  11. Thinking about it - with the data being held online, I can't see it, and thus can't determine what needs doing? How am I supposed to keep the dealer honest? Or am I being a cynic again?
  12. Am I being a cynic when I am just seeing this as a move to force people to go to the dealers?
  13. Hey @TheRobinK, Based in Oxford - the car came from Kidlington. Miles are 44400. I have just been out to check the service schedule... and it is not there... which is somewhat troubling.. I wonder if it is at home somewhere (will check later)...
  14. Hey all, Nearly a year of owning my Superb... the 400m to service has come on! Just wondering what peoples opinion was on going to a dealer to get this done... or a local trusted garage? Many thanks, G.
  15. Amazing Thanks Noddy. It's on the wish list! Many thanks, G
  16. Ah okay. Thanks. Just out of interest - the GPS SD card is for offline maps, is that correct? I think having a sim card dongle is probably neatest - having to hotspot my phone every time I get into the car seems a bit dull... To confirm, all the other steering wheel buttons work? Many thanks, G.
  17. Dear Noddy, Thanks for all the pics... it does seem to look very neat The folding mirrors are a concern... how annoying... I couldn't like without those; constantly parking on streets that are narrow and having to open the car to do it would be a little irritating... Is there a space for a sim card, or is the wireless access point the only option for data connectivity? G.
  18. Hey Noddy, Ace! I am glad it wis working so well None of those cons are a problem for me! Echoing the call for pictures... or a video? Could you just use google maps for nav? G.
  19. Hey Noddy, Thanks for this... how did you get on? I was actually more thinking of a head unit that will integrate with the skoda systems, but also allow me to use Android Auto rather than having a unit that runs android... however... the one you have found does seem interesting!!! G.
  20. Hey Madlad, I currently have the Admunsen+ in my Superb... but I am growing pretty tired with it... I really want something with Android Auto and DAB.. would be very interested in the replies to this... Ta, G.
  21. Dear all, Random question - I have electric seats in my Superb MK 2 62 plate. I have a memory panel on the drivers seat, but the passenger seat just has a blanking plate... is it possible to put the memory buttons in? Told you it was random. Many thanks, G.
  22. Hey all, So; thanks to some VCDS use - I now have rain sensing wipers!! (Thanks very much A & R:)) Magic! Now for the auto dimming mirror.... G.
