  1. So... Am I to understand that the intervals are custom? That's a bit confusing?!
  2. I've just found out that it has a belt, which should be changed at 43500miles... Have asked the seller if that has been done...
  3. Hey Bap, Thanks very much for that info. Really useful! I drove the car yesterday and loved it. As per usual with these things, you take it out for 20 mins, just start to get your head around everything and then have to go back... Not ideal. Also, the car isn't local to me, so not knowing the roads doesn't help... The car has DCC, I was flicking between sport and comfort and not noticing much difference, maybe it's because the road I was on was a dual carriageway... I will ask the question about the dampers misting, that sounds like an expensive thing to go wrong... Any other mechanical bits that I should be definitely checking given the mileage this car has done in 4 years... My current car has a chain for timing, rather than a belt, so I haven't had to worry about that... Not sure if the iv models have a belt or a chain? Thanks, G.
  4. Hi all, I currently own a mk2 Superb 1.8TSi SE Plus, love it, but looking at upgrading to a mk3 1.4 plug in hybrid. The car I'm looking at has done a fair few miles (60k+) it's a 2021 l&k model... I wondered if there are any specific things that I should be looking out for when I go to look at it? Service history intervals and things like that? Does the battery have any issues with holding charge? I'd really appreciate any advice you can give. I'd be looking to keep the car for a considerable length of time, so I want to get it right...! Any tips around spec would also be really useful...! Thanks, G.
  5. Hi All, So - I have a Superb Mk2 Combi 1.8 TSI SE PLUS. It's a great car and I love it - however, someone drove into it a year ago and wrote it off (CAT S). It's still on the road, I bought it back off the insurers. The engine also eats oil... which I know is a known fault with that engine... So I am considering an upgrade to a MK3 (2021 ish)... however I am after a few opinions: I'm looking to go to a hybrid, I can charge at home and even though I can probably only get 20/30 miles of range, that would be good enough for my commute Currently I have a manual, I have always driven manuals, but obviously a hybrid has to be an auto - I have had issues in the past with experiencing car sickness with autos - I haven't really been in an auto at all in recent memory... I'm assuming they are all as smooth as butter nowadays! I found out about the oil eating of the 1.8 TSI after I bought it from my local dealer (they failed to mention it... 🙄) Are there any things I should be looking out for on the 1.4 TSI PHEV? I don't buy cars often, and I will probably look to own this new car for 10+ years, so I want to get the right spec... L&K seems like it ticks most of of the options as standard, but I really dislike the L&K branding... I guess I might just have to swallow my pride on that one... I have been somewhat spoiled by the SE PLUS on my current car... Did they get rid of the rails in the boot floor from the MKII, I use them all the time in my current car for lashing down etc... seems an odd backwards step. I am looking at the digi dash as a millennial who grew up thinking more screens more better, but is it any good? I'd really love a sunroof, but they seem to be as rare as hens teeth... am I looking in the wrong place? I am sure I will think of more Q's, but that'll do for now. Mods, feel free to repost this elsewhere if I have put it in the wrong place! Thanks all, G.
  6. Happy Christmas all! Looking to use my VAG OEM microphone that is already installed with my new aftermarket (Sony) head unit... the sony has a 3.5mm mic in... and the skoda one is on the proprietary VAG connector... The Sony unit does come with a microphone that I can use - but my god is it big and ugly looking! I was wondering if there was a way of adapting the connector on the end of the VAG OEM mic, to a 3.5mm plug, so I can use it with my new head unit? Does anyone have a photo of the connector, or know the pin out? I assume it is just a plus/ minus/ ground (common) - but being VAG I could be wrong. If that is the case - I can just chop the connector off and attach a new one on... Any help would be appreciated! Hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas day! G.
