  1. Hi I've managed to find a kind person on this forum who has a VCDS setup and happy to help me code the changes. But i still need to find out now what coding changes i need to make. Skoda octavia mk3 rain/light/humidity windscreen sensor has been swapped from a 5q0955547 to a 5q0955547b I understand it under module 09 Any help would be greatly appreciated. Would putting the old sensor back on and checking the coding help in any way ? Thank you Steve
  2. Hi Aubrey sorry to bother you.
Do you offer VCDS coding (happy to travel / pay for your time).  I have swapped a part on my car and it needs coding to work.
One of the forum members gave me a web link to a map with some possible VCDS contacts  and you where one of my closest.
If not, do you know anyone you can recommend.
    Thank you
    Steve

On a 2013 vehicle my lead would do everything.

If you know exactly what needs doing. What module address to put what coding data into. Bytes, values etc to change.

I'm happy to put in any coding you tell me. We can put in, test, change or put back etc.

But I don't know any specifics on your problem but I can input any coding data you tell me.

I live in Newbury Park, near the underground station, where about are you  ?

      Cheers Paul

Sorry to hear of your problems - it is very difficult to work out the compatibility between parts ( I had a big problem with parking sensors with A B and C types!)

Maybe you have seen this forum   page-22

      Conflicting results there!

Hope you can find a solution.  A lot of the work on VCDS needs to be done live on the car as there are so many options and undocumented adaptations

      All the best

      Stephen

      HI Stephen
Big thanks for the advice and web link. I'm out and about at the moment. But when i'm back home later and the kids are in bed. will have a good read through.
Having a quick glance it looks very relevant to what i'm trying to do. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
      Cheers

  5. Hi Hi Anyone with VCDS that would not mind doing some simple coding of a new part for me I' around the south east London / Kent area I'm happy to travel / pay for someone's time/knowledge. Below is my issue Your previous message Hi there I've got a Skoda Octavia mk3 2013 elegance 1.4 tsi Its fitted with auto headlights auto wipers and climate control. Recently was getting "fault automatic headlight control" on the dash. This only popped up when i started the car in the dark or when i entered a tunnel (went from light to dark or dark to light). But the headlights and wipers seems to work automatically ok. After a bit of research decide to swap the windscreen sensor (the one behind the mirror). The sensor fitted on the car was part number 5q0955547. I was informed its been superseded with 5q0955547b. Skoda main dealer (Marshalls Gillingham) wanted £281 +vat supply only As quite expensive decided worth a punt so got one from ebay from a car that was breaking. £25 including delivery. The seller assured me the part worked fine and the car was being stripped for unrelated reasons. I swapped over the sensor and also fitted it with a new index match gel pad (no bubbles just lucky i guess). The error has gone away and the headlights work automatically perfectly. But now the auto wipers dont work and intermittent wipe in manual wiper mode does not work. Auto wipers are set in the car info screen menu. I tried togging on/ off. A friend scanned the car for OBD DTC codes and nothing found. He selected clear codes anyway. I posted my issue on this Skoda forum and was told because i've replaced a 5q0955547 with 5q0955547b the new part simply needs coding with VCDS/Vagcom. 2 or 3 people on the forum said its a submodule of 09. (Hope someone knows what this means) I am happy to travel to you and pay for your time/knowledge. I live in the Bexleyheath area. Thanks Steve
  6. Thank you everyone, will take a look for possible VCDS contacts near(ish) me.
  7. Thank you Tried a few VCDS "coders" advertised on ebay and got quotes ranging from £60 to £140 to makes the above changes and hopefully fix the wipers. Sorry i'm new to this do these prices seem about right ? Unless there are any experts from this forum around the south east London area that i can meet with and pay instead. (Any one recommended ?) Thanks again
  8. Thank you Would you or anyone else happen to know what module /component in vcds i would find this coding value. from what i can see on the web 5Q0955547B is (RLHS) and 5Q0955547 is (RLFS)

He selected clear codes anyway. Any thoughts advice please. Anyone know If I can i just replace 5q0955547 with 5q0955547b and not have to code the new part. Also friend of mine says he has a spare sensor from a vw golf mk 7 part number 81D955547 and its does look identical to mine. He says he's happy to let me have it cheap. It was swapped on his car under warranty but did not fix his issue turned out to be his light switch so he's confident it works fine Maybe i was just unlucky and got a faulty replacement sensor from ebay ? Cheers Steve
  10. Thank you do you happen to know if the vw version will also work 81D955547
  11. Hi All Looking for help/advice please I have an issue with my Octavia mk 3 (2013) I'm getting automatic headlight control fault flash up when i have the lights set to auto and it gets dark either when starting the car in the dark or going from light to dark (tunnel) whilst driving. The error does not appear when its not dark. The auto lights and wipers seems to work fine. The screen is super clean in front of the sensor so not a dirt issue. I managed to removed the sensor and replaced the gel pad (index matching gel i believe) worth a try. I made sure everything very clean no air bubble etc. but made no difference So looks like i need to replace the sensor. My current sensor is a 5Q0955547 my car has auto wipers auto lights and climate control. So i believe this is a tri sensor. light/rain and humidity. I called skoda and they want £281 for the sensor (supply only) so looking for a cheaper alternative. The Skoda parts guy told me 5Q0955547 is no longer supplied and its been superseded but said he's not allowed to give me the new part number. I see 5Q0955547A and 5Q0955547B on ebay / aliexpress etc. But also see the vw golf mk 7 forums talk about the same issue and quote 81D955547 and the sensor looks the same. I found the diagram below on aliexpress but cant really work out whats it all means. was hoping the kind Briskoda members could maybe throw in there comments / experiences. Thanks in advance Steve
  12. Hi Looking for some advise please. Got an Octavia mk3 1.4TSI auto DSG. Been a few cars stolen in my area. Looking to add a simple kill switch. But unsure which circuit is best to cut into. (I did not want to go to the full expense of a ghost immobiliser which i understand would be good. The easiest way i think is to pull the correct fuse from behind the glove box extend it to the kill switch (via an inline fuse instead still still fuse protected). But i could not work out which fuse is best to stop the car being stolen. I dont wont to use a fuse that will flag up a code if i switch on the ignition with the kill switch still enabled and i need a garage visit to clear the code/s. I was thinking fuse 49 described as coil on starter relay clutch pedal switch https://imgvehicle.com/skoda/octavia-5e/fuse-box Thanks in advance for any advise. Steve
