  8. Well as previously posted I had drop in fuel economy from range of over 400 miles down 360 ish. But now back to over 400 miles. Back to using E5, ie Tesco momentum 99 Ron. Bit more expensive but to me it's worth it.
  9. Nice see mines ok , GB with Union Jack on left side of number plate. Surprised to see that GB with Euro symbol is acceptable.
  10. Just be aware that headlight led bulb upgrade are a MOT failure. Extract Please note that since January 2021, the MOT Inspection manual has been updated to include LED bulbs. Section 4.1.4 now states the following: “Existing halogen headlamp units should not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp.” This is a brand new update that seems to only focus on headlights. There are no mentions to fail other LED bulbs such as brake lights, tail lights or reversing lights. I suggest Osram Nightbreaker, I have only LED sidelights, Fog lights and number plate. LED Indicators and Brake fail Canban
  11. @stever750 You mention getting tyres because fronts needed replacing, I presume you got the rears as well. I only ask as it's unwise to mix all season and summer tyres.
  12. Well I'm nearly through my first fill (42l) tank of Tesco E10 ( aka E5) and currently my range is down by 30 miles. I don't keep records , just monitor the range following fill up, ( usually 35-42 litres) , Fabia mk2 1.tsi. Usually range is 400-420 but after 1/3 ish tank its 370 with combined trip mileage I normally use Tesco 99.
  13. Tesco have labeled their pumps (BwD) and selling the 95 Octane as E10. 99 is still labelled as E5, as I read it E10 is available as 95 octane.
  14. Any choice you make, All season or Winter ( can be a good choice) , it will be the right one and time will tell if it was the right one. And with your mileage you'll find out sooner than normal for your second choice. I made a choice from tyre reviews and YouTube vids for the A005 nearly three years ago and confidently and stuck with them for their replacement with Evo version.
  15. Just to confuse you more, as you are high mileage, perhaps you ought consider the offerings from Tyre reviews who have also tested UHP (Ultra High Performance) all seasons 2020 UHP All Season Tyre Test - Tyre Reviews and Tests 2020 top 5 summary Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS Cooper Zeon RS3 G1 Continental Extremecontact DWS 06 With your mileage most tyres would need replacing within a year, so why not work your way through the top ones each year and eventually decide on a favourite. We all select tyres that meet our particular circumstances, I like A005 as they meet my needs, I don't consider Michelin's as they have harder compound which I don't class as a reason to buy. OE are generally summer tyres with very limited performance below 5C whereas All season are better suited for cold weather and operate in warmer conditions and are perfectly suited to the UK conditions
  16. The Evo tyres were announced in Oct 20 , so hopefully you may get some impericable evidence. I've placed all the info that I found. To be fair I haven't noticed any difference since fitting the Evo in February, mind you I don't keep records of fuel consumption. My range is between 360 (local and heavy acceleration) and 430 (prolong cruise, long range mway / dual carriageway) miles. For which I'm very happy with along with excellent handling in the wet , dry, grip in fast corners / bends. The choice is yours, if any doubts don't get them, my choice in future will be A005 Evo.
  17. E10 fuel is here , I got some today from Tesco. It official standard from now. Those with cars pre 2011 will have ignition problems. pinking, E5 may be available for a period but it price will escalate Tesco momentum is E5 whilst unleased is E10
  18. *Mod Comment* - This conversation has been split from another thread in the tyre zone - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/484098-bridgestone-weather-control-a005/ *** Original post Below *** What you asking for will only be relevent to E5 fuel, unless you have diesel, so is now irrelevant as standard petrol is 95 octane E10. And E10 is less efficient so your mpg reduces. https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/emissions/what-is-e10-fuel-and-how-could-it-affect-you/
  19. Got. Evo as they're the latest according to Bridgestone press release https://www.bridgestone.co.uk/story/mobility/bridgestone-launches-weather-control-a005-evo https://tyretradenews.co.uk/news/bridgestone-launches-weather-control-a005-evo/ Also now that standard petrol is E10 this fuel now apparently is less fuel efficient over the old E5 grade. 10% ethanol compared to 5%. 2]Based on the internal tests carried out by Bridgestone vs. WeatherControl A005 in Sweden proving ground. Tyre size 205/55R16 94V. Tractive Force in [5-35 kph] range increased by 3% vs. predecessor. Snow Braking distance in [40-5 kph] range decreased by 3% vs. predecessor. Lateral acceleration increased by 4% vs. predecessor in Snow slalom test at 50kph.
