I would say your observer was correct, although phrased it wierdly. If you have to brake violently to stop before the red light; you are best to carry on in most circumstances.

Mine doesn't do it at all. Take your hand off the wheel and it goes straight as arrow. First car I've had that does that.

I just got mine, and it's only done 350 miles, so I'm not going to answer yet. There's a slight stutter noticeable at about 1800 revs in 3rd, and occasionally in 4th. It doesn't happen very often, and it isn't noticeable enough for me to consider it a problem. Is this what everyone is talking about? Does it get worse with age, or something?

Change instructor. If she's not happy; there's plenty of other instructors and no good reason to stick with the same one.

Well, having discovered the boot of my Mondeo had turned into a swimming pool I decided it was time to make it someone else's problem. Initially I was looking at cars which were all economical and environmentally friendly - but, my god, were they BORING! Then I turned my head to the kind of car that put a smile on my face. Almost bought a second hand MX-5 but the ******* sold it before I drove the forty miles to look at and didn't even have the basic decency to phone and tell me. Then I test drove a Hyundai Coupe which I probably would have bought except I couldn't adjust the steering wheel so it didn't interfere with my knees (I'm a tad over 6' 3"). Just as well really, because I then found out about the vRS - it sounded like it would satisfy my desire for fun and be nice and economical. One test drive and I was sold. It was a nice place to be inside, with plenty of head and leg room even for someone of my height (although I do pretty much make it a three seater, only a short lass or a child can seat behind me). I've only had it 36 hours now, but I'm pretty satisfied with it thus far. The only thing that I find annoying about it is that the door pockets are too small for a drinks bottle.

Hello everybody. I took delivery of a brand new black Fabia vRS today. All seems to be good and well so far I've not owned a new car before. How careful do I need to be about this running period? Will it matter if I give it the heavy right foot a few times?

Got my new Fabia vRS from these guys today. They were friendly and helpful, and gave me a very nice £1350 for my old car which was actually only worth about £500. The salesman who I had been dealing with's son had broken his arm so I had the boss dealing with me instead so there was a bit of confusion over finance - but given the circumstances I don't see that as a problem - it was all sorted easily enough. It too came with 40 miles in the tank.
