  1. Thanks all , no door or boot lights on , car is proper old and worn out these days , never known the alarm to work since I had it so have removed the fuse so can lock the car without waking the neighbours lol
  2. Yes I have done this , the car does not need an alarm and has not worked in 5 years or so of owning it so yes removed the fuse and no more alarms going off 👍
  3. Hi all, had my skoda 5 years now and as far as I’m aware the alarm has never worked , get to a funeral, alarm goes off when I lock the car with key fob or by inserting key , checked all the doors, bonnet etc etc , goes off every time I lock the car 🤦🤦 first time I’ve heard it since owning the car … and now I don’t want to hear it lol and I’ve tried the internal sensor , lights up but does not stop it any suggestions happily received thx
  4. Just been and bought some hella ultra 150s , very good , def light the road better than anything I’ve had before
  5. I put a spare bulb that I originally replaced back in, more of a yellow light , the ones I put in last year said they were 50% brighter than standard but actually with one of those on the driver side and my old bulb on the left, the left side is way better at actually lighting the road than the right… to the point I actually thought my right hand bulb had gone yesterday when driving as it was so rubbish …. They were Halfords own 50% brighter white light bulbs , I’ll get some of these night breakers I think
  6. Hi all, advice please , I have a dipped beam bulb gone ( only 14 months old) recommendations please, I don’t care about ice white or blue etc …. Just a bulb that’s legal and does a damn good job lighting the road up on low beam. The last ones I bought claimed to be way brighter than standard but I don’t think they lit the road as well. Thx
  7. I honestly don’t know why I bother on here!!! If all you have is sarcasm and no help then feel free to know where to go!!! Jesus
  8. I didn’t replace it before if you actually read ... I repair it with a connector! Which lasted 15 months ... don’t need to clear any codes either .... when it’s fixed the light goes out
  9. Hi all , I’ve previously repaired this cable in photo with a connector but it’s broken again and airbag light on again , can this cable be replaced? Easy job? Does anyone know the product name and number for airbag cable within the rubber of drivers side door hinge for 2005 skoda Octavia ... I believe there might be two different types for early and later mk2s many thx
  10. Hi all, Question on fuel light, recently travelling 100 miles a day for work, left work yesterday and computer said I had 75miles to empty so thought I’d fill when home, well..... got 20 miles down the road and it said 0 miles left and gauge went to the R so felt I had to find fuel quickly What mileage are people getting from when fuel light comes on as my gauge seems to drop like a lead ballon as soon as fuel light comes on Also what are people getting to a full tank ... mine is around £70 to fill from empty and best I’ve managed is 560 miles which is worse than the old work van , yet the car often shows 65mpg to and from work
  11. Ahhhhh I see ..... many many thx for that .... I was clicking the links on a previous post but the pdf would load to see how they fitted ..... very simple ..... thankyou again
  12. But there is nothing at all on my roof for fitting anything to, non of the plastic strips that hide where roof rails are fitted ??? Just a bare metal roof ... are rails generally screwed into the roof? Many thx
  13. Hi all .... I’m needing to use my car for work and carry a ladder.... basically I need a roof rack but....... I have no roof rails or anywhere to fit one...... advice I need A ..... can a roof rack be fitted B ......if so what do people recommend? Many thx
  14. Well I posted as my airbag light has come on, plugged in a while ago and it said crash sensor drivers side , I have only just looked and found the broken wire but upon contacting my mechanic who initially diagnosed crash sensor .... he now says he does not think there is anything in the door to do with airbags but will happily solder the wire and clear the code and see what happens ....basically I wanted to see if people on here had experience of the yellow connector and broken wire
  15. Hi all ... could someone please tell me what the yellow plug is?? It’s situated in the rubber of the drivers side door shut and a yellow wire is broken..... many thx
  16. Ok update on this, I checked the wires in the rubber by the door hinge and found a yellow airbag wire broken, I have temporarily put a connector on..... airbag light is still on though so I’m guessing this needs the fault clearing
  17. Cable came, fitted and all works fine ,an expensive replacement in the end and dissapointed with skoda who I contacted directly to ask advice about the old led unit and cable needed to make the newer led's work .......they would not give me any information and would only recommend I take my car to an official dealer for repair ......which no doubt would have cost £100+
  18. Yes agreed I must have a look in there before the car goes to a mechanic .....how do you get into those wires by the door hinge? Thx
  19. I have the same problem only the other way round .....it appears the new one you bought was what I needed but the old version and the one you had was the new version which is sold everywhere now .....I am having to buy a wire adaptor to make my old wiring fit the new style led unit ☹️☹️
  20. Hi it's me again .... I have an airbag light on .... diagnostics is saying crash sensor drivers door .......I'm sure I have seen somewhere that it is in a ridiculous place to get to within the door that has to be drilled out??? Thx
  21. Found and ordered one £15 plus 85p postage on e bay....only two others there and in Poland, a lot more expensive .....skoda should provide the part for free if they upgraded the part design or the thousands out there selling the led units should do so with the wire adaptor or atleast warn customers they need the wire to make it work ...cost me a fortune as I ordered a non puddle light one first that came with the wrong connection so assumed I had to have puddle version which was £30 but came with same bloody connector so now another £15 on a bloody wire .... £60 in total spent just for a bloody led indicator to work!!!!! Grrrrr .....now the issue of an airbag light and a sensor apparently buried in the door!!!!! Arrrrrggggghhhh
  22. What would I search for on eBay please? Wire extension for skoda led indicator? Thx
  23. Hi all... having a mare!! The mirror led went on my skoda a while ago with puddle light.... I have since bought two!! Both I thought correct both with the wrong connectors as you will see from the pictures ... my local apd have searched and it appears skoda made a new wire for the more updated mirror led they made ....but nobody knows how to get said connector wire??? Anyone shed any light??
  24. So buy a solder thing....new connector ....crimps......tape etc etc total cost ....be the same as buying the correct part in the first place!! .....lesson learnt ....don't simply ask on here ....take it apart and look for yourself before buying parts instead of listening to people who .....drive skoda's ... not fix em that come up with sarcastic answers about apps to fit things for you!!!
