I wonder if the reg means anything towards then engine code could be fun that
-
You wait until it gets a bit colder...
How old is the 110? You know it rots rubber?
51 reg
I know it does, but it doesnt really bother me as ill swap the lines when it goes and fit viteon seals to the pump.
Weather wont bother me once ive got my twin tank setup working
-
What will mine be then?? registered 4th September 2003
Could be either, have a look
-
my octy 110tdi runs 100% bio without any starting issues or running issues.
Yet to try some of my homebrew in a pd engine
-
Yes they do, none were fitted with Garrett Turbos.
.
Early press cars and launch cars had garretts.
I think i have seen only one vrs with a garrett in my time, rest have been kkk
-
Let me Know if you decide to get shut. ill take it off your hands

Top stuff matey!
Glad she's still running well - the two look good together. And that interior is just epic
Steve
Tar :P
I like the interior now, its grown on me, that or the fact both front seats have covers and the rear seats are in the bin
Need to get both red octys together for a photo shoot
-
Well Finally its time to write a thread on my octavia beast.
Bought for peanuts in this sorry state.
But fully restored to its former glory
Spec.
2001 51 reg Octavia tdi 110bhp elegance
Bamboo interior
Maxidot dash pod
No rear seats for maximised tip run capacity
Running 100% home made biodiesel Cost peanuts to run
And here she is parked next to my other machine
This car is an absolute machine! 186k and still on orginal clutch and turbo!!!! i think it just might run forever and forever!
-
Think the second pic was after some dodgy mechanic did work on it :P
haha, Dodgy! You mean professional!

Before:
After:
Whats the Difference?
-
I have a recurring tapping noise that is bad first thing in the morning, at low revs and very bad on long runs. After my last service and oil change it went away, the mechanic said from a time and money point it wasn't worth doing anything else. It came back last weekend.
Took it in to the main dealer this morning and was told I had a lazy tappet. Because I do mostly short runs, I now cycle more than drive and have clocked up less than 5K in two years, I was told I had the mayonnaise thing going on and that it can gum up the tappets.
He recommended a more frequent oil change to alleviate the problem. He said that short runs are the worst thing I can do to the car.
Does this sound okay?
What car?
-
turbo is easy peasy, Ive done a few now...
Inlet manifold gasket
exhaust manifold gasket
downpipe gasket
oil feed pipe
8 new nuts for exhaust manifold
and prolly other stuff i have forgotten.
-
Looking at your photo, it seems to have some surface rust on the cam sprocket and surrounding area, is there water getting in there?
Its only light surface rust, nothing bad really. probably made worse by the high iron content in the steel used for the pully.
-
At this thread.
Its not entirly the worst one I have seen..... but the others involved pistons kissing valves and valve stems shapped like bannanas
Dont worry though folks, its soon to be fixed
-
I know I can get an Angel remap for 215 pounds or a Celtic tuning one for about 250 pounds. These are a lot cheaper than going to get a Revo or Bluefin done. and seem to give quite a lot of bang per buck.
Deffo more of the BANG with celtic
-
Should I come in the octy or the volvo
-
i have visions of you drilling the top of the airbox,,, Ie after the air filter
if you want my honest opinion, i wouldnt even waste a second thinking about it..... pointless watse of time
