  1. That conversion in a nice understated L&K.. Anyone know why Skoda even commissioned this? Can't see it being research or they'd a done it themselves.. was it really just a promo stunt? And if so.. leading to what? Predates any hot Skoda's by a fair few years? I'm right in thinking it's got the interior from a Fun, aren't I? Would look nice with a fun bumper with the hoop hacked off like I've seen on here somewhere..
  2. You can save a bob or two by stripping the door, removing the broken carrier.. fitting the new carrier which has a couple of locating pins and gaffa taping it in, before nipping down the local dealer and having them literary just pop some new rivets in.. They charged me £20 for 15min labor when I did this.. and like a quid for the rivets... then I drove home and re-fitted all the trim. It was suggested to me once, a product called screw rivets could be used? They're like a rivet but you screw into them and the back side of them deforms/pulls back kind of like a normal rivet? Not very common though.
  3. Maybe one of the theories above suggesting the thief somehow had a key is true.. but they dumped it for some reason and an opportunistic joy rider realized (or knew) it was already stolen and had an un educated go and that's the reason the ignitions a mess? This is all very very odd.. and if you find out why and how and it's a "repeatable" technique... with out details, at least inform us all if we need to get our steering wheel clamps out of the shed?
  4. Flippin Ekk! Would have expected better from a company so confident they even have VAG in there title. Poor Show.. Have you had any explanations yet? I'm not sure what they would have had to file??? I had the Cupra bushes put in mine and even they're a direct fit.. no messing about..
  5. Even with all it's mods that's still the ultimate sleeper! lol Wicked! must have taken some serious fabrication though..
  6. These are growing on me... I've never really been a fan of non-oem lights, not since the days of Mk2 Astras and Sapphire Cosworths anyway, when they were proper quad lamp conversions... but that was in my mis spent Max Power Youth (Oh Project Thunder.. you were so big, stupid and yellow) anyways.. yup, I like these.. I'm actually really fond of the way that they kinda give the same shape as the Superbs lights? Anyone see that? Do the DRL's come on as/with the side lights then?
  7. This is something I've wanted since getting my 1st Fabia... NO ONE (in the UK) makes it.. Leon sent me a picture the other day of a CZ Fabia that had one.. but we couldn't figure out the origin and that could always have been a PS as well. One things for sure... if this could be done as a proper retrofit item (And didn't cost the earth like some grilles) there'd be a que.... Most other Skodas of recent years have had this style developed over on superSkoda.. but for some reason the mk1 Fabia got over looked... :( EDIT: Here, I did this PS ages ago.. it's a bit naff and slap dash.. but it's got the same kind grille thing going on.. for a different angle. Edit Edit: This'd most likely be an easier DIY job with a pre face lift grille so you don't have to deal with the opposite angles per side.
  8. How old's your Fabia.. and what trim? The early Elegance models had body colored strips, so be sure they don;t shove black ones in if they're meant to be color keyed.
  9. Top Cake, That! I like the chunky bumpers, most authentic!
  10. They did the same thing for the mk1 Fabia.. a chrome strip for above the rear reg plate recess.. Same story, not standard on any spec and a pay for accessory. like you, i reckon these should be standard fitments on Elegance / 3 spec cars.
  11. Yeah, was on here but think it's been removed.. I'm not to keen on the Polo seat shape myself.. don't like the flattened peaks.. The skoda sports seats just seem a little less "stylized" to me.. a tad more classy in there form, or foam hehe! Plus, unless it;s just the picture.. the Polo seats look a little bit more light weight?
  12. Can't find the thread now.. but a couple of days ago a thread popped up where a guy had a vRS with comfort spec seats in as his vRS ones were very badly stained with a couple of rips. It may have been deleted as it was a "how much is it worth" thread.. He said he still had the vRS seats and that if someone wanted to collect them they could have them? If it's just the foams your after, sounds like you guys could do some kind of deal.. of course, you'd have to work out who it was which could be quite tricky now the threads vanished? Did you ever look into just buying the foams from Skoda? Or are the seats base different between vRS and non vRS seats?
  13. As already stated it could be many things... I had a manual 1.4 and this light came on.. (It was the EPC light).. that turned out to simply be a bad brake light switch on the pedal. This is a common problem with allot of VW cars and the part in question has been revised by VW many times, but that doesn't mean it's your problem I'm afraid... Would be worth checking your brake lights aren't stuck on though.. or that they work at all and consistently.
  14. Sorry for the slightly OT post... but before I'd even got to the end of that post I could see a Mondeo in my head...lol! As for the noise... it's not un heard of to loose balancing weights.. you might have thrown one on the back?
  15. If ya fancy a small easy DIY project... Footwell lights http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/140458-footwell-light-silver-paint-pic/page__view__findpost__p__1758816 Yes, I'm a foot light whore. If ya scroll down through that thread theres various pics showing how I did them and where they actually are.
  16. My cars been doing this on and off for a few weeks now. I was going to change the expansion tank.... but my cars an 04 ASZ.... can I scrape the contacts as suggested above?
  17. Wouldn't surprise me if this was because they knew it could only be 1000 claims.. and wet carpets + leather seats is not a good combination!
  18. lol, My regulator went as I....... put the window back up HAVING JUST SEALED IT!..... And then it started to rain.. I honestly kid you not! Hopefully your seal will still be a little soft and will come away quite easily. The only plus side of it going soon after being sealed.
  19. I'm Spartacus, oh, um.. no, I mean.. yeah, looks just like mine too! What's that rear plate surround about though? Has it got reverse sensors built in on the sides or something??
  20. I've just hit 2000 posts with this thread! I know that's quite small compared to some of your totals.. but I feel quite proud of it for some reason.. like proof of my dedication to the brand and the Forum! Woo! lol
  21. Not that it makes it any better.. but if they only took one fog surround it sounds like they got disturbed? Anyone around you could go back and ask if they saw anything.. ya never know, they might have a description of another car they were in?
  22. Pretty sure they're different.. the vRS pre dates the facelift and as a result, although the fogs are the same shape the mountings are on a different axis... The vRS items screw in from the top so no removal from the front of the car.. the revised ones screwed in from the front so they could be changed without taking the bumper off. Yours will be front facing screws as it's a face-lift.. you will need fog lights i'm afraid cuz (understandably) Skoda didn't make all new tools up for the vRS bumper when they revised the other models. check though.. I've not seen a post 2005 vRS bumper in the flesh.
  23. A couple of services back my invoice read "5W-30 PD oil"
  24. Really? No go as in not possible or no go as in the guys doing the map don;t wanna do it? Cuz theres instructions over on fabiavrs.com Here.. http://www.fabia-vrs.com/technical-info/ecuconvenience-unit-coding-options/ At the bottom of the page.
