Thanks, thats reasurring. I'll leave it and see how it goes.

After the Low AdBue warning I filled up at home with 5ltrs. Then I did something silly...started the engine as normal and got an alarm “Error AdBlue (DEF)Start possible in 1000 km. Which turns to a yellow symbol of a bottle and spanner. Yes, I should just of turned the ignition on for 30 secs.
In the hope of fooling it, I filled the tank to the top, turned on the ignition for the 30 secs. but that didn’t work. I’ve driven about 20km. but still hasn’t reset. Can I do anything else or is it a trip to the dealer ? -
Just got the Yeti back, and as suggested by previous poster, dealer is now diagnosing a ‘worn fan’. Replaced fan and another new resistor. Fingers crossed....

OK guys thanks for your interest. Back to the garage next week. For the sake of future "Searches" I'll update post with, I hope, a positive outcome.

Thanks for your input again,
Wino. Engine off 12.36v. Engine running 14.72v Anything significant there?
Austin. I appreciate your time and obvious knowledge of electrics but its beyond me, owning an old Defender I’m a big spanner and hammer man. For the Yeti it goes to the local main dealer for service/ repair, so I don’t know the condition of the parts or which actually failed. I can only accept that it was the resistor and replaced twice. The only question I can answer is yes there is a gale on full speed and when working a progressive increase in air volume on each step of fan speed up to max.

Resistor blown again, this second replacement resistor lasted 4 weeks. As in previous posts, supposedly resistor is genuine, pollen filter ok, fan motor ok !!. Presume this points to a wiring fault. I did see wiring fault mentioned somewhere !, can anyone enlighten me on any likely suspects/areas. Would be nice to be pre-armed with any information before it goes back for a third time.
-
Resistor replaced again today, pollen filter checked but not replaced, fan seems free enough. Garage did mention checking wiring if it blows again. I saw in another post that chaffed wiring was mentioned in relation to a blowing resistor. Will just have to wait and see.
-
I certainly would have noticed a smell like that. Will update when its repaired next week.
-
No smell that I noticed/recall. The A/C had been on with fan # 1 for an hour, with nothing unusual. Next day drove off and thought the car was a bit warm, checked the A/C and found the fan not working unless on 4.
-
Thanks guys. They’re an amiable lot, so I’ll mention the possibilities when I take the car in.
-
Resistor blown again, only lasted 3 weeks. Booked in again for next week. Any ideas for failure ? Is it just replacement then wait and see, or is there anything else that may have contributed.
-
Just as you predicted, resistor replaced for £70. Money well spent in this weather to have cool air blowing on me.
-
Brilliant, thanks to both. I wouldn’t undertake replacement but it is nice to have the info. before it goes in, although I will research part prices.
-
Wanted heater on cool so turned fan to #1 and nothing, same with #2 & 3. #4 gives a full blast. I assume its the switch, guessing it’s a rheostat that’s failed for 1,2,3 positions and lets full current through #4. AC is light on in all positions and working ok on #4
Booked in for next Tuesday but would welcome any info before it goes in.

Well I got the car back and no scraping sound, only managed to speak to the receptionist who had the worksheet, strip, clean and reassemble front n/s brake disc. I can only assume it was a trapped stone as suggested. Thanks for the insight.

Thanks for the info. Reversing hasn’t stopped it, so just hope it’s still scraping when I take in tomorrow.

2016 model, intermittent noise that is hard to pinpoint, sounds like metal to metal contact on something revolving. Seems to be from front N/S, can occur at any speed, may last for an hours drive then go quiet, may start again before journey complete or not until 1 or 2 days later. Sometimes more pronounced when going round a roundabout. Braking does not silence it or induce it, sometime a slight movement of steering will produce it or silence it as though a slight weight shift will affect it.
Due in at dealers on Wednesday but any opinions before then will pre-arm me. At least its still under warranty, just. -
Apologies for late update on my windscreen potential for being heated, I forgot.
Dealer had the car as a demonstrator before sale to me and confirmed no replacement screen fitted. Managed to mist the windscreen and just made out the horizontal “lines” i thought were elements and as Kenfowler3966 suggested it is from the lamination process. -
I had the same fault that cured itself.
-
Urrell, Front windscreen.
SAD555, naughty!
Skoda1982. Different layout than photo, but definitely no windscreen button, but do have rear window heater button. Like the nail !!
900000, maybe as kenfowler suggests.
Kenfowler3966, could be you’re right. The elements are invisible except in certain light condition so easily ignored.
Again thanks for your input. I'll be calling into my dealer when I'm passing for clarification. If I find an answer I’ll post back.

Thanks for the responses, Hmm bit of a mystery then. I bought it from a dealer at 6 months old, it was a demonstrator so they’ll know the history.
There is certainly no switch and I can’t see any terminals for cables (guess they’d be behind the pillars anyway) If it is feasable it sounds complicated and expensive.Just looked at rarrar’s photo and his elements are vertical and wavy, my elements are just visible if the screen is misty but run horizontally approx. 2” spacing. Have I got it totally wrong and making a fool of myself?
-
Slightly off topic but..
Is it much of a job/expense to retro fit a heated windscreen? I see my windscreen has the heating elements but not the controls.
-
Quick update.
New rear wiper on order, no quibble.
Audible alarm now working after fuse/s pulled abd replaced. I assume it just reset something !
Fair play to them.

I'll have to try driving off without fastening my seatbelt to see if mine works OK. Putting it on when I get in is so ingrained in me now that I do it without thinking .
Same with me, buts its handy for a lax passanger which is when I noticed the fault. The fault is common to both sides so maybe its the "bleeper" thats failed. Guess I'll know more after Friday's service.
Can I reset AdBlue warning after daft mistake ?

Spot on 👍. Error now cleared after 5 days, but only a few short trips in that time period.
