  1. So after cleaning the lens, is the light output improved? Mine are also milky, and could do with a clean. It's really annoying that you can undo the lens by unscrewing it, but are unable to get it out of the headlight assembly. 😬
  2. Hi Shane. My intake manifold failed last year. I imported a manifold from ECS tuning. Please see link below to the thread. Regards
  3. My 59 vrs makes some strange noise's from the rear. I think mine is the plastic trim around the rear window, as when i press on the plastic the noise stops.
  4. I own a yellow hatch. I also see a yellow estate in Bedford last weekend. My first sighting.
  5. Thanks. It looks great after quick polish. The photos don't do it justice. I have to admit I have a bit of a soft spot for it. I don't drive it that often, but it's quite fun when I do. Little 1.2 engine likes to be driven.
  6. Gave the other halfs 500 some winter love last weekend. Quick going over with some Autoglym SRP, followed by some Sonax BSD.
  7. Looking at the link again. I've noticed the price has gone up. I only paid 218 usd A quick Google search brings this up. But not sure if it includes vat https://www.theskodashop.co.uk/products/variable-intake-manifold-06j133201bh
  8. I believe it came in at around £290. It definitely wasn't more than £300
  9. Good evening. If your interested here's a link to the manifold I fitted to my tsi a few months ago. It worked out cheaper to import from the USA than buy over here. And that was including import charges. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-volkswagen-audi-parts/tsi-intake-manifold-with-complete-installation-kit-improved-oem-version-over-oe-06j133201bd/06j133201bh1ktkt/ Regards Marc
  10. So. Just to close things off. I got the car back last week,, and all is now well again. The Garage I use believed the problem was throttle body related, but weren't 100% sure, and didn't want to risk changing parts for the fun of it. So it was booked in to a local VAG specialist who diagnosed it as having a faulty throttle body sensor. So that was replaced, they also did a software update. Not sure what this was for? I haven't yet paid for the repairs, as i was told by the receptionist to drive it for a few days, and let them know how its running. I'll speak to them regarding the software update when I pay for the repairs. Regards
  11. So Just updating this thread. I ordered the manifold from ECS tuning, which only took five days to be shipped from the USA to my door step. The good news, it was the correct part for my car. Now for the bad news. A few days before the car was due in to have the manifold fitted the car started to run ruff at idle and low speeds when cold. I put this down to the faulty manifold just playing up. After having the new manifold fitted the car is still poorly, and running ruff at idle, and low RPM, kind of feels like a misfire. It's now back in the garage for further investigation. The garage have suggested it might be throttle body related? Regards Marc
  12. If your anywhere near Bedfordshire aks tuning seem to have it listed for under £400. Or though it does state "tfsi" https://www.akstuning.co.uk/shop/content/10-servicing
  13. Thanks Again Client. I'll take a look at both options, and speak to the garage. Best regards
  14. Hi Client. Thanks for taking the time to reply. So looking at it long term, it might be more cost affective to replace the manifold completely? I've been advised by the garage I use to expect to pay around the £500 mark for the manifold plus fitting, and advised to only use genuine Skoda parts. Is this correct or are there any non skoda units worth looking at? I've seen this manifold on ECS tuning which might work out cheaper even with import duty. Is this the correct part number I need? https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-volkswagen-audi-parts/tsi-intake-manifold-with-complete-installation-kit-improved-oem-version-over-oe-06j133201bd/06j133201bh1ktkt/ Best regards Marc
  15. Good Evening. My petrol VRS TSI has thrown a EML light. I've had the code checked at a local garage, with the fault code P2015 coming up (Intake manifold damper sensor implausible signal) The garage reset the fault (They didn't charge me for the code reading) and told me it might just be sticky flaps, and advised an Italian tune up. This seemed to work, but the light has come on again a few days later. So is this something that can be fixed, manifold removal and clean? Or will this require a new manifold? Car is a 59 plate just sitting shy of 60k miles. Regard Marc
  16. I've spotted a small crack in the pain above the windscreen. The crack appears to run underneath the top of the windscreen see attached picture, will a body shop be able to repair with out removing the window? Best regards Marc
  17. Any chance you could post a photo of them at night? Regards
  18. Sorry Guys Just found the fuse layout in my manual. Its a 5amp. Off to Halfords. Regards Marc
  19. Hi Guys Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but my interior lights have stopped working while changing a blown bulb. I guess the fuse has blown? Am I right in saying fuse 15 is the one that controls the interior lights? I was under the impression It’s a 7.5 amp fuse? Looking at what’s in my car it’s a 5amp or am I reading it wrong? Thanks for your help.
  20. I tried to remove the jets this evening after hovering the car. But was unable to get them off. Is it just a case of brute force? or something else? Many thanks Marc
  21. I'm currently using the following http://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/screenwash-de-icer/halfords--10-concentrate-screenwash-5l-berry It is leaving a lot of white chalky substance around the jets.
  22. Thanks for the replies. Just out of curiosity how easy are the washer jets to remove? Is it just a case of pulling them off? Or do I have to take apart half of the car? I have access to air and an ultra sonic cleaner at work. Regards Marc
  23. Hi Guys I’m after some advice on my windscreen washer jets. It seems I’m having problems with them partly blocking, where only half of the windscreen washer nozzle sprays. I didn’t think this was possible due to them being the misting type? Do they just need a good clean out? And if so what with? Many thanks Marc
  24. Thanks for the reply. The front badge i got is new, so will use the sticky pad attached. The rear is 2nd hand, taken off anther car but in great condition, so will need some sticky stuff adding.
