  1. It oscillates between 950 and 1000 rpm at a very short interval of around 2 seconds
  2. Have a VRS tdi (my second) but have noticed during the regeneration that on occasions the revs vary between osscilate between approx 950 and 1000 revs. Is this normal, as my past experience is that it stays at a constant 1000 rpm
  3. No issues with my first Mk3 pre FL but this does seem different
  4. On my second VRS tdi estate 17 plate FL version. Running Goodyear F1 tyres but getting tyre noise that sounds similar to a wheel bearing problem. Car has only 12k on the clock. Anybody had similar issues or experiences?
  5. HI Unfortunately it sounds like a possibility. I take it yours is out of warranty? Contact your local Skoda dealership and report it as a "Known Fault" and expect at least a discount or the work done for free.
  6. Changing my 14 plate VRS diesel for a FL 17 plate VRS diesel....it's becoming a habit. Pick it up tomorrow morning....
  7. Just wondered how many people regularly manually disable stop start on their journeys. Fortunately I do quite a bit of my annual mileage doing long runs and very little stop start traffic situations. Surely over the lifetime of a vehicle it will put added stress on the starter motor etc?
  8. I found it was always just over the mid point through the variable service cycle.....circa 10,000 miles
  9. FUGLY ......maybe subjective for some but many thanks for your input
  10. I can conform my VRS tdi has had to be topped up now and again. On variable servicing regime
  11. Will be considering changing my VRS for another in the near future. May go for a FL VRS but noticed they have changed the Bi-Xenon headlights for LEDs. It was one of the attractions for me that the Skoda had Bi-Xenons. Does anybody know how good the FL LEDs are compared to Bi-Xenon set up?
  12. Regarding DPF replacement I was informed by a Skoda dealership that the lifespan is up to around 140,000 dependent on its life. I'd bear that in mind, but having said that you may be fortunate with it maybe spending a lot of its life on motorways
  13. I was informed by a Skoda dealer that the lifespan of the DPF is about 140,000 but that's dependent on its history. Has yours been changed? If not the cost maybe over £1,000?
  14. So at the most by 2020 fossil/nuclear fuels will account for 70% of the grid production. However, if there is a significant increase in EV usage then we must create additional capacity. The big sell on EV cars is that they have zero emissions but this fails to account for the power generation emissions and the greater production/disposal impact of EV cars. This needs to looked at as a whole, notwithstanding the fact of government financial incentives and lower tax.
