Yes that should work with the wheel shown. More info can be found here

Another parcel arrived from china this morning - a second bag hook for the boot. A bargain for £2.69 inc delivery!!!
So was immediately fitted to the pre-existing holes on the drivers side

Have a read at this thread

nice thread bud keep it up
Im looking at doing the power fold mirrors so what do i need to do this mod?
Thanks. For the power fold mirrors you will need both mirror units, the switch for the drivers door and the door controllers which support the power fold mirrors for both front doors. Once everything is fitted it's just a case of coding with VCDS

Check operating temperature of the engine and not with the gauge on the dash. I have just had my thermostat changed as the temp on the gauge was dropping when in slow traffic or when stood (this started just before Xmas) I now realise it was probably faulty a lot longer before that (oil temp never got above 90 degrees on maxidot, now reaches approx. 100 degrees on a long run) and my average consumption on winter diesel is matching what I was getting in the summer.

My door bin insert kit arrived from china today
so were fitted to the car within minutes of being opened
drivers door
Passenger door
Unfortunately the rear door ones seem to have been made the wrong way round so the writing is backwards, but you can't really see then so I'm not too bothered
Decided against using the ones for the cup holder and the bottom of the maxibox as these already have their own liners. The other 2 are for the little pockets on the seats, drivers would fit but the passenger one is for a car without a height adjustable passenger seat so again I'm not using these

Wow, just wow!! is all I can say. Kudos for going for it with so many upgrades and OEM+ retrofits. As you say it's what Skoda should have sold the car with.
I did indeed have VCDS and had played about with a few settings. Sadly I owned the Octavia at the same time as getting married, buying property and other expensive things, so the amount of mods it's got in my ownership was limited to low cost stuff.
Looks like it's well cared for now though. Always good to see.
Thanks - as for the getting married bit, would that explain the loads of shiny stars I have been finding everywhere???

BUT, I have no idea what the "default" position for it is...
There should be 2 arrows which line up to show it is in the central position (ie wheels straight ahead)
-
The actual fitting of the clocks will be straight forward however the new ones would require coding to the car. There are a few people on this forum who can help with a swap like this.

It shouldn't have done. I have removed and refitted mine a couple of times and the alignment was always the same afterwards.

Happy days - a free fix!!!

- covers and trays fitted = Assume this just means any OEM engine covers were removed/refitted.
- Sub-frame corroded but not seriously weakened (2.4.G.1) = should I be worried about this?
- Offside Front Outer Front constant velocity joint gaiter deteriorated, but preventing the ingress of dirt (2.5.C.1a) - Assume this just needs a CV Joint Boot Kit
covers and trays fitted - MOT testers are not allowed to remove any covers or trays that are fitted so he is stating that they are fitted to cover himself in the event of anything being found underneath them that could have caused a failure
subframe corroded - probably just surface rust, again tester covering himself. A quick look will confirm
CV gaiter - yes a boot kit will sort the issue.

If you have maxidot then you will probably be able to turn on a few of the options but using VCDS I have enabled (from what I can remember)
Alarm beeps on lock / unlock
Anti-hijack door locks
rain closing for windows (requires the rain sensor for auto wipers)
cornering & reversing front fog light illumination
coming / leaving home lights via front fog lights
tear drop wipe on front & rear wipers

Don't know why the pic of the passenger mat is shown at the and of my last post. I have edited it twice to delete it and it keeps re-appearing
-
Made the most of the dry day and hovered the car out so I could fit my new mats. Excuse the rest of the marks and muck, a full valet will be done once the weather gets a bit warmer
Before
And after
Passenger front
Rear
Once out the wear to the drivers mat was a lot more noticeable. Shame really as the other 3 are pretty much like brand new.
Suddenly remembered that I had made a couple of other additions that I hadn't recorded on here . 1st my dash cam. It's a cheap one from ebay but it fits nicely behind the mirror and the picture quality is OK. Currently it is powered from the 12v socket in the centre console, another warmer weather job is to hard wire it to the fuse box.
2nd addition is my phone holder
It's a magnetic type and comes with a stick on 'plate' for the back of my phone. Been using it for 3 months or so with no problems to report so far.

Time for an update on the Octavia...
Due to the pretty rubbish weather we have been having recently I haven't really done much to the car apart from driving it and getting it really filthy (no pics as I am too embarrassed to display my laziness on this forum) Anyway before Xmas I noticed the temp gauge dropping when sat in traffic or when the heaters were on full. Looked like the thermostat was starting to get a bit tired in its operation. As it was coming up to it's next cambelt change (due at next service) I decided to get it all done in one go. Normally I would do something like this myself but as it's winter and cold and wet and generally horrible I booked it into my mates new garage to have the work done. Just before it was due to go in I noticed a rattling coming from the front suspension when going over bumps, a quick check revealed a broken drivers side spring so both fronts were dully replaced as well.
Anyway enough rambling... One thing that annoyed me with the car was the rattling of the passenger seatbelt on the B pillar when that belt wasn't being used. Boredom browsing on Aliexpress through up these rubber covers for the buckles. At £4.10 delivered I took a gamble and ordered them, delivery from China took just over a week.
Got them fitted
And despite a bit of resistance when pulling the seatbelt on they work really well in pretty much killing the sound of the buckle rattling against the B pillar.
Just waiting for a bit of dry weather so I can hoover out the car and fit my new mats and for my door pocket inserts (another Aliexpress purchase) to be delivered from China

I fitted the multi-function wheel from a Mk2 FL VRS DGS to my manual car. To get around the paddles I just removed them and made blanking plates. Have a look in my build thread for pics. Remember that you will most likely need a new steering wheel controller however a VCDS scan will tell you if yours is compatable.
-
I'm liking that, well done!! Have you got any pics of the build? It would be interesting to see what has gone on underneath the car.
-
Just read through this thread as I too experience this fault. I notice it mostly on a particular road that drops away after being fairly level for a while. Car feels like I have lifted off of the accelerator for a moment. Car is a 2010 Octavia VRS TDi

The seats are not on a timer so need switching off manually

That looks and sounds fine to me. The smoke / fumes will be as it is cold and idling. Hard to tell if it is blowing or not, could be the baffles in the back box starting to become a bit loose. How does it sound when you rev the car? To see if the exhaust is blowing put your hand over the tail pipe to block it when it is running, any 'blows' will be magnified as the gasses seek a new exit path.

How much would I be looking at for an upgrade from a non DAB ssd Columbus to a DAB one if you took mine in PX? I have a non DAB GPS shark fin so would need an aerial upgrade as well.
Which steering wheel fits?
in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)

Have a look in my build thread - I have fitted a multi-function wheel from a VRS DSG but with the paddles removed and blanked.
