  1. I last used it about 6 weeks ago and got the details of the mother-in-law's new car with no problems. Not sure if it makes any difference but it was a Ford i was getting the info on.
  2. try this site CARInfo | Auto Helper I got a full list of PR codes for my car from it
  3. Yes, you should be able to change this in adaptations under central electronics
  4. Have you checked the Ross Tech page for fault diagnosis? http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16952/P0568/001384 Also if you let us know the year & model of the car and part numbers of previous components used it may assist in answers being provided. Have you checked all of the wiring plugs have been correctly seated? It could be as simple as something not plugged in correctly.
  5. When I replaced mine approx 4 years ago I got it from my local Euro Car Parts. I'm sure the make was EIS and it fitted perfectly and is still fine to this day. Looking on their website at the moment they are £122 (my car is a 2010 VRS diesel) before any discount codes applied. https://www.eurocarparts.com/air-conditioning-condenser
  6. Welcome to the forum. VCDS is a diagnostic program made by Ross Tech and normally run on a laptop. It gives almost dealer levels of diagnostics and module programming. Link to their website ROSS TECH
  7. Strange how you have had a problem fitting the shocks. I have just fitted a set of Bilstein B4 to my 2010 VRS TDi without any problems.
  8. It would help if you said what radio/cd/sat nav system you have in your car. Is it an original fit Skoda one (ie Columbus) or an after market head unit (ie Kenwood, Pioneer, Chinese Android etc)
  9. Your airbag will not fit so you will need the corresponding one for the 2015 wheel. Additionally the switches in the steering wheel will not work with your car so you will need to swap them out with ones from a Yeti or Superb FL which look the same but operate under the correct canbus protocols to work with the Octavia mk2. This topic has been covered numerous times on this forum, use the search facility and you will find all the details you need
  10. Darkside Developments are based in Barnsley (not West Yorks but not too far away) and are up there in regards to VAG diesel tuning https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/
  11. Depends on the car. If you have a FL Octavia 2 then yes you can but you will also need the replacement switch and you may need to change your door modules if the ones fitted to your car do not support folding mirrors, plus the car will need coding with VCDS or similar. More details can be found on this site if you use the search function
  12. You would have to re-wire it to a switched live. Most people (me included) use a piggy back fuse holder on the rear wiper fuse in the fuse box to power a dash cam.
  13. If you have clamped the hose I would be inclined to replace it. I clamped the hose on my previous car (Golf Mk4) and ended up with similar symptoms to you, ie caliper sticking on. Once a new hose was fitted and bled, all was good.
  14. Back to the original question... Only the VRS with DSG gearbox got a multi function steering wheel however it is an easy retro fit to a non DSG car, you just have to remove the DSG paddles and blank them off or live with them. I have done it on my 2010 VRS to go along with the retro fitted maxidot display and bluetooth.
  15. the threaded inserts were already in place to allow me to add the 2nd hook in my boot on my car
  16. To answer your questions.... 1) No they cannot be shown on the Columbus. To achieve this you would need the OEM front parking sensors retrofitting 2) Sorry I do not recognise that unit. Have you had a look on the bottom of the display to see if there are any labels? Also if you trace where the wires go you should come across a control unit which may have some details on.
  17. Thanks!!! the puddle lights needed coding in (on the door controllers if I remember correctly) and the footwell lights came from e-bay. Again these were coded in (this time on the BCM)
  18. The MF steering wheel was purchased from eBay. I have had a look at eBay here in the UK and cannot find any VRS MFSW's currently listed but there is a 4 spoke MFSW from a 2012 car listed for £120 plus postage (item number 183443979731)
  19. Here's a link to the ross tech wiki with some details on possible faults for this code http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16485/P0101/000257
  20. Personally I would have the matching pair on the front. As for tyre pressure sensors, your Octavia won't have them, the sensing is done via the ABS sensors
  21. My work used to have an Audi Q7 with DSG gearbox to use as a tow vehicle towing a trailer that was in the region of 2 ton and it was a fantastic piece of kit. We had no issues with the gearbox over the 3.5 years we has the car. I would just say ensure the gearbox is serviced correctly on the car you are looking at.
  22. Thanks for that, I am seriously tempted to get one to replace my Columbus so I can have better Sat Nav mapping
  23. What is the sound quality of this unit like?
  24. THIS ONE is the one I used on my fuse box or I believe VW part number 000979227 will also fit
  25. I use the rear wiper fuse to piggy back off for my dash cam so no reason why it wouldn't work for your radio
