  1. If the car is worth more than GFV and you would still like new surely best bet is to sell private, pay off ballon. (if you can't afford borrow short term loan). Then pocket the few thousand or so difference you should have made. Then put larger deposit down which means less interest and lower monthly payments over new few years of new car. Reading back I'm wondering why everyone doesn't do this, seems a no brainer. Am I missing something? Or maybe they offer a good enough deal over the GFV to stop you doing this?
  2. Do a quote through car wow and the ones that get back to you,ask em for the breakdown per month and you should get the answer. That's what I did.
  3. Well mine will have £10500 left after 42 months of £350 at 10k p.a with 3k down and £2500 of options so yours sounds about right, maybe bit more expensive for the extra 10000miles you are doing compared to mine
  4. That does seem good! I feel like I've over paid now!
  5. That wouldn't be very advantageous for me!
  6. Ha I've already told her sh has to drive my car I've had for 10 years a Bmw 320d,when she's proved herself capable she can drive vrs. Insurance is evil for her or with her on it. Got my current insurance to give me a quote for adding her on Bmw,they wanted £2435! Done a bit of research and some companies mirror your NCD onto another car still going to cost an extra £1000 to have her as a named driver on both cars at the very best from what I've found so far
  7. I'm with you on the emotions,I spent 4 months milling over it as waiting for a remortgage to go through (don't need extra finance on bills). For 3 of those 4 months I was buying a Mazda 6 sport nav, similar price and 0% interest said I'd never buy new but with low interest rates and manufacturers deposits compared with nearly new finance up at 8-9% you pay as much for one of them. After test driving a vrs I was no longer interested in a Mazda and ordered vrs shortly after. I was unaware of waiting times on ordering a new car though. Bit like waiting for xmas as a kid now:-). Was a bit confusing what ordering though as said previous as skoda were going through getting new facelift version in,concrete standard equipment was hard to come by
  8. I didn't notice or was aware of it and it wasn't mentioned but I did check, it was within quote.
  9. No it's in there within the original quote,it's when u examine the breakdown on f what you are paying for. When buying you are just concerned with length of term, price per month, interest rate, deposit and ballon at end. So didn't notice till home
  10. One thing I did notice after examining receipt once home was an unexpected unmentioned manufacturers delivery charge of £590. Is this normal? Usual price?
  11. Yeah I know what you mean, first thing I thought after agreeing to these extra covers is 'I could have had the Columbus screen with the extra expense'. Live n learn I guess,I've never bought new or pcp before so totally green to the experience. He could have had my pants down without me realising but it all sounded right and resonable at time.
  12. With the dent insurance it has to be no bigger a bic pen (that's what he said/showed) covers scratches/chips and dents also can claim as many times as u want up to £3000 of damage. I envisaged £3000 of damaged so thought was a steal!
  13. I have also bought the £400 gap insurance which may have been foolish without shopping round. And the smart body repair £400 and the autoglyming at £250 I think. Paying upfront when I collect. Not sure if good or bad deal. Reckon I might need body repair as wife will be driving it also! She passed test 3 days ago and has only ever drove a Suzuki swift.
  14. I've Pcp for first time put £3000 down added Dcc,alcantara, camera, front assist 10k per year for 42 months at £350 per month on estate vrs diesel. Manual
  15. Also in VRS spec the multifunction 3 spoke steering wheel doesn't say that it's heated either where as it does on L&K. It was my understanding the vrs steering wheels was also heated?
  16. It is all a bit odd why a definitive brochure/what's standard list wasn't available while willing to take orders. Even dealers had no idea. I only found out I couldn't have leather when sat trying to put order through. So then when alcantara but also they had no idea what it would look like just same info as available to everyone on car configuration. But hopefully all will be forgotten when whizzing round in new car :-)
  17. That's exactly what I wanted em for never saw as an option,I have heated front seats too. When trying to figure out what came as standard, which was no mean feat at time of ordering I just assumed standard as I saw on YouTube and wasn't anywhere in options but as I've dug deeper learnt geography can play a part in what is standard and was a German vid so maybe not. Been pretty hard figuring out what you get and what you don't as standard even dealers only knew as much as me if not less,so it was a bit of a gamble in end. But in recent post of official brochure it's pretty much as expected.
  18. Only about 4 months late! So is there any USB ports in back!
  19. I've gone for the quartz metal grey and from looking at some pics I think I should have got front grill in black as opposed to chrome but no biggie. How about you, what colour?
  20. Hi,I ordered mine 11th April got a build week 20 may 15th,expected arrival mid June according to dealer. Hopefully no later.
  21. I guess I should point out I've ordered the diesel estate version. The options I picked was DCC,camera, front assist and alcantara seats. I really wanted leather but wasn't available so ended with alcantara still not convinced I've made right decision maybe should have just got cloth!
  22. Hi to all, I recently ordered my first ever skoda, should be with me mid June. Ive ordered a facelift 2017 Octavia vrs with some of the options. When researching for info on the Octavia vrs I kept finding myself as a guest on this site so now I'm almost a fully fledged skoda owner only right that I become a member of this site as it was quite helpful.
