anyone replaced the standard ones on the standard ARB with the better yellow type cant remeber what there made of but not rubber.

IF so where did you get them and how much

UPDATE, my machanic has been all over the car the problem:

worn ARB Bushes and knackered ARB struts ball joints worn.

Brain storm, I have just remembered many years ago I had a brand new Dont laugh NOVA GTE. now one day the gauges kept going all weird on me and I seem to remember the lights flickering too.

The problem a Crappy earth strap from the chassis to the engine.

found it by using a jump start cable from the neg of the battery put onto the engine block whilst the engine was running and the engine note changed as the circuit resisance changed and the alternator went under load ie charging

Cured by a new big cable from the battery to the engine.

I think this might be worth trying

The lights dont go right off but flicker I must admit I havent even checked the battery connections are tight, the battery was changed last year.

I wonder if its worth checking the state of it as the car has been sitting around at a dealers for some months I should imagine.

I will check the electrolite level if its not a sealed one, and give it a week to settle down as and get some charge back in to it, IE drive it around.

worst case is to change the battery or alternator.

as there is so much load on the battery might be worth fitting a gel type for diesels

Is the VRS fitted with a bigger battery than the petrols?

If the alternator is shot then getting a higher current output would be good again is the VRS fitted with a beefer alternator hight amp rating than petrol?

Do you think its worth changing the PAS sensor as a matter of course, It hasnt had one accourding to all the service info.

I just thought well it should give a better burn so more mpg and slight increase in performace not that a 1.4i is fast.

it happend when driving along also when parked up they flickered also the interior light was aswell.

I have just got a fabia for the wife when I drove it last night first time in the dark the light were sort of flickering any ideas?

sorry to be a bit thick but just had a look at the car both sides with the wheels on lock.

I can see the ARB and a little strut from its end connected to the main suspension.

Is this the little strut the problem? worm balls joint on its ends?

or am I missing the issue here any pointers would be good also any pics?

I have a keyfob with 2 butons on it does anyone know if the cheap 3 button ones off ebay will work ok?

also will the third button for the tail gate work?

guy's my ferby is making a strange suspension sort of knocking when going down a rough road, no noise on a nice flat road.

any ideas what the prob could be

guy's can you connect up a cd changer to this head unit or should I just buy a symphony head unit.

I have seen it mentioned about the symphony only working in the one car? linked to the ingition barrel immobilzer!

It looks like the SDI is the one for me, good mpg and no turbo to go wrong.

I Just thought that might be tweekable.

still it must go ok quite a big engine for a little car,

and I can only wonder what 170bhp TDI would be like in a furbie AWESOME.

I currently drive a 205 Diesel 1.8 non turbo that shifts ok.
