So, I've just changed the Timing Chain on my car, It was a bit of a pain, only because I didn't have a offset spanner and there isn't room to get a socket in there (trip to Halfords sorted that)
to stop the crank and cam spinning while undoing these I had someone apply the breaks hard,
Its all back together with 12 chain links between the 2 sprockets as stated in the Haynes, I had to use a gasket glue (Granville high temp black instant gasket) for the Sump! - as theres no gasket for this car
which i didn't realise takes 24 hrs to cure!! Joke!!
So I'm eagerly waiting till tomorrow to see if I've still got a car!
If all goes well, I'll post a decent step by step right up with photos exactly how its done, as I've struggled to find any decent info, other then a polish video on YouTube.
24hrs!?! joke lol, Doing nothing for my nerves
Oh also garage quoted me £300, multiple garages
chain kit £28.
If all goes well gonna do the water pump next week, looks easy the hardest part will probably be the clips on the pipes (I've seen a tool on amazon £13 like pilers with a bike cable.. should make it easier)
