  1. Gutted. Renewed my Skoda Connect license this week but have now discovered the BEST feature of the Columbus navigation system is no more. No more Google Earth view in the maps 😞 Called Skoda to find out why and apparently Skoda's contract with Google Earth ran out 8 months ago!! Mine only stopped working when my Connect license expired at the weekend. They also don't even know when or even if the Google Earth thing will be coming back. WTH!? Bad move Skoda. Bad move.
  2. Don’t debate. Just get a pedal box. Well, well worth it! It is a vast improvement on driving feel and enjoyment every time you’re driving it. Also fun to play with.
  3. From what I can tell, this shyVRS dude is often acting exactly like the kid who wasn’t invited to the party, came anyway, and then shat in the pool just to get a reaction.
  4. Yeah. Tyres are on the harder end of the recommend pressure but not over.
  5. I don’t understand how you get figures like that. If I drive super steadily at the NSL everywhere the best I get is 36mpg. If I drive it how I like it’s more like 27-28mpg. On average 32ish. Edit: I always only use M99 or Super+ high octane fuels. Currently on almost 26k miles. Considering a remap/tune once warranty is up.
  6. Absolutely fine. No problem. They came from Europe, yes. Took about a week. Delivery by dpd. Had to be in to sign for them but yeah, all fine.
  7. Just in case anyone is interested.. I changed all 4 of my tyres last week. From the stock P7s to Vredestein Quatrac 5 all seasons. Did 21k miles on the P7s, and credit to them, there was still 4.5mm tread left on the rears (which I've kept, although I doubt I'll ever fit them again...) First thing I noticed was the noise was much improved on the Quatrac 5 s compared to the P7s. Like someone has mentioned, this could be down to weight. A brand New Quatrac 5 weighs 11.9 kg and the rear P7s that came off were 9.8kg (I weighed them). But this is also obviously down to tyre construction, material compound and tread pattern. The new boots have now been scrubbed in after about 200-300 miles and they feel excellent (were definitely a bit squirmy when new, as to be expected). As far as I can make out, they now handle just as good as the P7s in the same driving conditions so far. I'm just looking forward to some cold weather now Bought the Vredesteins from alltyres365.co.uk as they were the cheapest and got them all fitted by a local tyre fitter for £60. Would also like to point out that all 4 new tyres fitted in the Superb's cavernous boot side by side perfectly, with a bit of room to spare. Nice.
  8. How much does this Revo remap cost any way? And yes - @DBT85 what tyres did you get? I've got a set of Vredestein Quatrac 5 all seasons on the way. Done over 20k Miles on the P7s and decided I want to change, even though there is a good few k left on them...
  9. Not according to my rev counter it doesn't. Must be a mistake. It makes no sense and is not demonstrated in real life.
  10. Thank you! Yes, I think I’ve done this now. But it’s not so clear in the menu.
  11. Hmm, really? But still not useful if I need a high sensitivity on the fronts. Even in heavy rain like today the rear might need a wipe every 5 mins, if that. The auto operation of them just isn't necessary. Anyway, thanks, I'll try it.
  12. Oh, one more thing that has occurred to me that I would change - the fact that the automatic rear wiper (at least in the Combi) comes on if the front wipers are on for more than 30 seconds. The rear doesn't even get that wet so I just end up with an awful sound like a tortured Chewbakka every 20 odd seconds in the boot on rainy days. I'm perfectly capable of operating the rear wipers as and when needed. I don't need them to be done automatically, thank you Skoda. Any way I can change this?
  13. One year old this weekend. Just over 15000 miles, purring like a cat and going better than ever. Awesome car! Pround owner.
  14. Right now, MPG I’m getting on average is 32 to 34 with an almost fifty fifty mix of motorway and back country B roads / urban and ‘getting on with it’ when conditions allow. No complaints.
  15. Get DCC. I honestly don’t know why people debate about getting it or not. If you can afford the option that is. DCC always.
