  1. My July 2017 Superb L&K 220 has 13748 miles on the clock. I don't get out much LOL.
  2. Yes indeed. Strange but, maybe, true if the reports on this forum can be believed.
  3. I had to have it reset by Skoda technicians. None of the manual reset procedures, some of which are outlined above, worked. Skoda had to go into the coding and reset something. In my case the problem was traced to being due to the charge of the batteries in the key fobs being low. Somehow the Kessy system had become confused and didn't know which key was being used. It set a flag in the system that prevented the seat memory and the mirror memory from working. Three new key fob batteries (one in each fob) and a bunch of technicians with a laptop got it fixed. Fortunately my car was still in warranty back then but I had to pay for the batteries. I replace all batteries every year now whether they need it or not. The end result was a working memory system but the click box option to disable the virtual pedal for the boot disappeared from the console. I'm not too bothered about the latter! Maybe the back and forth seat movement will work for you.
  4. 18" for winter on different rims. 19" for summer on the larger rims.
  5. I seem to recall somebody having random issues like that before and it was traced to rodents having chewed through some cables. Apparently the cables are covered with something that mice are attracted to and this isn't just limited to VW group cars. Hopefully it is just a faulty infotainment module as re-wiring can get expensive.
  6. I had this and if you search within the forum you will find my entry for it. Essentially the batteries had reduced in charge on all Kessy keyfobs and the system got confused as to which key was in use so set a flag within the controller which stopped the seats and mirrors moving. The dealer, after a lot of head scratching, worked this out. Take all three key fobs with you, get them to replace the batteries and then the dealer should be able to reset whatever flag was unset. This will bring the seat/mirror module back into use. I did find afterwards that the foot operated boot closing override has disappeared from the menu and may or may not be related. I never used that override so not too bothered. Of course the dealer may find it is something else but that is my experience.
  7. I had this issue over 12months ago. I got the dealer look at it before the warranty expired. Just for reference my car has Kessy and three key fobs. The batteries hadn't been changed from new and were running low - there was an indication on the computer. This is what I was told by the dealer who interpreted the error codes: "At one point the car couldn't work out which key was in the car as the fob battery power was low and therefore didn't know which driver profile to apply. So it disabled the seat memories and the mirror settings." I personally don't know what the codes were and frankly don't care. The main thing was giving the car to the dealer with all three keys, they installed fresh batteries and then did some jiggery pokery with a programmer and all was good again. They had three technicians on it as even they had not seen it before. It cost me the price of three batteries to get it fixed. So I will now replace the key batteries every 18 months.
  8. I had a reason to use the removable torch in mine the other day. I hadn't used it at all from day one of having the car but glad it was there. Surprised they removed it from yours as it must add pennies to the overall price of manufacture.
  9. I've had my seat memory fixed by the dealer on warranty. It appears that what happened is this: I have Kessy with 3 keyfobs and over a period of time the batteries have been getting low. I am normally the driver of the car but my wife sometimes drives it with her own keyfob. Needless to say the seats, mirrors and many other settings like the radio are changed when she gets in. Just before lockdown we went on a trip to Joderell Bank and she drove. I got into the car with my own fob about a week later and noticed the seat did not move. Then I discovered pressing the preset buttons at the side of the seat also did not work. The seat itself could be moved with the other switches and the mirrors had to be adjusted manually with the switches. The garage reported what had happened was there were many error messages written into the log some of which were about various key fobs being low on battery. The system couldn't cope as it didn't know which driver was in the car and it set a flag in the control module which disabled the seat/mirror memory segment. So they put in some fresh batteries in all the fobs at the same time, reset the flag which reactivated the seat/mirror memories, went through a relearning procedure and everything is now working. Moral of the story is replace your batteries regularly.
  10. I like the 220 lots but on the Pirelli tyres there can be a lot of lack of grip from a standing start. If I was to start over I would have ordered a 280 (they had em when I bought by 220) with 4 wheel drive.
  11. Glasses too big? Seriously though I've not had an issue with it. Only thing was the glasses rattling about in the holder until I solved it by putting a small piece of bubblewrap into the tray.
  12. I can't find my ODB11 at the moment. It is located in a safe place that I can't remember.
  13. OK vehicle battery fully charged. Seat fully down, moved forward and then seat back moved forward. Held both switches (slide and tilt) until beep heard. This took about 20 seconds or so. Slid seat back and then adjusted seat and mirrors until correct. Pressed store and then pressed 1 ......Nothing. No chime or anything. No Joy 😞 Back to the drawing board.
  14. Good point. I'll put the battery on charge.
  15. The procedure I've used is: Slide seat base all the way forward. It goes all the way then a further press makes it move another short amount. No clicking heard (apart from the relays clicking under the dash) but it will not go any further. Then, and this varies as to which forum you visit, tilt the seat base up (the front of the seat base lower than the rear of the seat base if you get what I mean - picked up from VW forum) Finally move the seat back all the way forward then quickly press all three manoeuvre buttons separately in quick succession to ensure they are in their final resting positions (within 10 seconds). A beep or two should be heard but it isn't. Also tried it by moving seat forward and then the seat back tilt forward (leaving the base as it is) had to move sun visor to do this as the head rest would catch on the ceiling if the seat base was too high 😃. Still no joy.
  16. move seat forward, tip up seat base, tip seat back forward - so yes
  17. My drivers seat memory will no longer work 😞 I have tried all the solutions on the forum and on the VW forums to no avail - move seat forward, tip up seat base, tip seat back forward etc. I was going to book it in to Skoda to get them to sort it before the warranty runs out in July but due to the Covid-19 the dealers around me are not working. The seat can still be adjusted manually fine. The mirrors don't appear to be moving when selecting a different driver from the infotainment screen either. Not in a desperate hurry as the car is just sat on the drive permanently now. Just reached 6000 miles from new so not overuse causing the problem! Has anybody in the forum had the same problem and been able to fix it?
  18. Mine has just stopped its memory function and I've tried all the suggestions on this thread and on the tdiclub thread to no avail. Car has only done 6000 miles and methinks a trip to the dealer before the warranty expires 😞
  19. Ahh yes - the sat nav is rubbish - you are right. When it took me down a narrow country lane that was barely wide enough for the car just to save 20 yards I gave up on it. I just use Google maps now.
  20. I really like ACC but know of its idiosyncrasies like when following somebody who turns off to the left it suddenly slows down. But once I learnt that (in the first few minutes of using it) and treat it and all the other in-car helpers solely as driver aids I would not be without it. I've not found any of the other electronic witchcraft to be an issue either. Never read any of Clarkson's stuff or Murdoch press so can't comment.
  21. My thoughts on owning automatic cars for the last 20 years is that all you have to do is put it into drive. Then point and squirt with the gas/brake. Forget the manual driving process (depress clutch/move gear stick/release clutch etc) as it is no longer necessary. Just leave the drive selector in D unless you want to momentarily select sport. Let auto hold do its stuff when you stop at junctions/traffic queues etc. When you get to your destination and are finally parked move the lever to P. The electronic handbrake comes on automatically.
  22. I also agree with the above sentiments. My wife borrowed my 220 L&K Superb the other day. I took the chance to walk the short distance into the village. On my way back she was coming up our road, didn't see me walking on the pavement (she was probably listening to the Archers(!) as it was around 2PM), totally passing by me. I didn't even hear the car until she had wafted past - so not even noisy on the outside either. Mine you I had recently fitted my winter wheels (Nokians) and they are fairly quiet in comparison to the summer P7's. Just done 5000 miles from new (2 years old) - I don't get out much 😄 - so not even thinking of changing mine
  23. Mine is Kessy too. It works for me but as ever with VAG cars it may be different on newer models.
  24. You can close the boot by double clicking the boot opener on the key fob. But you have to hold it down on the second press. That works inside or outside the car and you don't have to be behind the car. The only caveat is the ignition must not be on. See the pinned thread on page 4
