  1. It does indeed. Simply setting it on the drive way, starting the engine, stopping the engine and getting out, locking the door doesn't work. You have to set it on the drive way, start the engine, drive off, come back, stop the engine and get out, lock the door. Next time you come to it with a different key it does indeed set the car for the different user programmed into that key and all is good. Simply too clever by half!
  2. The Superb L&K Infotainment system has a toggle in users>settings that should pair the current key with the current selected user. Except it doesn’t. Nothing in the paper nor online manual about it. In my previous Superb it was easy, open the door with the key, select the correct seat position the press memory and the desired seat number. A chime is heard and then you can do the same with a second key for a second driver. When you next approach the car with the first key the door unlocks (Kessy) and the seat moves, the infotainment system changes to your settings and all is good. This Superb doesn’t do that I’ve tried the above procedure to no avail. So if anybody knows then please let us know.
  3. Yes I have a 1TB drive and a 256 GB drive installed - no problem reading either.
  4. Interesting. I seem to recall from my previous Superb S3 you could set the height of the tailgate so as not to hit low ceilings in carparks or garages. Maybe that is what they are referring to. I haven't seen any instructions in the manual for the S4 to do that but there is probably a setting you can do when standing at the tailgate.
  5. Petrol 4x4 for me. I have the L&K 265 saloon and no noises from the DCC. I previously had a FWD L&K 220 2017 version and the addition of snow tyres did help immensely in the winter. However the 4x4 is sure footed in all weathers we’ve had so far this year. The estate has a little more boot space than the saloon but not that different. Go to a dealer and compare. Economy is on a par with what you quoted for the Range Rover and the L&K is a comfy armchair that can occasionally tear your nose off if you are so inclined.
  6. Just on another safety note I have noticed the seat belt automatically takes up slack soon after you set off. Not had that in a car before.
  7. Let us know when you have had chance to evaluate. I just set mine to Blue and an open door changes to red when you open it. I have the footwells turned off too as you don't want to see dirty carpets LOL.
  8. Thanks John. Glad it is seen by others. My S3 used to just stop moving and beep an alert when a car was about to pass behind when reversing.
  9. Sometimes I have noticed when the tailgate is open and trying to close it with the switch on the lower part of the tailgate it will start to close but then beep and stop closing. Nothing is in the way and pressing again it will open fully again. Then pressing it one more time it will close fully. The interior open/close switch on the drivers door works ok as does the kick sensor at the back. Anybody else seeing problems like that? Might need to get Skoda to look at it whilst under warranty.
  10. The rear braking is a problem for me. When reversing into my driveway occasionally (not always) it slams on with a huge bang almost as if you have reversed into something. On investigation the car is no where near anything. Engaging reverse again and reversing then works very smoothly. I did have a problem in a car wash when trying to drive out after it had finished and again the front braking this time slammed on with a huge bang. Quite unnerving. My previous S3 Superb had no such issues. Might need to get it adjusted by Skoda.
  11. All the accessories websites in the UK don't cover the Superb Mark 4 at all. I guess it is still relatively new in UK and I don't really want to pay through the nose for excess delivery charges from Czech Republic/Czechia. Anybody found a website in the UK yet?
  12. Not sure about the SEL but the L&K has multiple different massage modes. When friends get in the passenger seat for the first time if told the seat massages they switch it on using that central button. Then they stay silent for about ten minutes with the occasional squeak of joy!
  13. I used the auto parking in the previous model about 5 times total. It was a bit primitive back then as you had to select forward or backward when prompted and press the throttle. It just seemed to autosteer on its own. The current model looks a lot better. I have set the driveway (labelled it "Home") as a place for it to auto park into but not been brave enough to try it yet.
  14. Yes under hard acceleration in sport mode it does bark a bit but it’s a pleasant noise. I agree with Cedwing it is very quiet when cruising at 70. The suspension has no rattles or squeaks and rides really well on 19”s even over the atrocious roads we have here. I don’t think it has those silly false exhaust sounds coming from the speakers like some of the vRS and other VAG cars have. Tyres with 3 up on board are 2.9 Bar all around with the 265 4x4. It goes up a little in pressure when you are fully loaded. I would say the performance is brisk for a road car with no wheel spin. My 220 used to front wheel spin for fun on the P7s. This new one still has P7s on but it says “SEAL INSIDE” on them. Not sure if it is a different formulation but it seems to stick to the tarmac going around bends with uncanny grip. I think it is luck of the draw as to what brand of tyres you get with Škoda. Mine is a Tuesday car and got Pirelli’s. Maybe Wednesday’s get Goodyear and Thursday’s get Michelin. I still have a set of 18”s that I have for winter loaded with Nokian snow (winter) tyres. I need to get those old alloys refinished now as they are looking a bit scuffed. I haven’t driven it at night yet to see the matrix LED lighting in operation. John next time I’m in it I will photograph the place where the surround sound settings are and post it here.
  15. Oh I forgot to say I thought the original car was packed with gear and tech but the new one has even more. The Canton sound system sounded a little flat until I discovered the surround sound setting which wasn’t present in the 2017 Canton system. It is brilliant and really clear even at very high volumes with no distortion. The gear change on a column stalk takes a bit of getting used to. I keep reaching down to the centre where there is nothing in a vain attempt to engage reverse. Then I remember it is on the right hand stalk and then have to work out which way to turn it LOL. The one thing my wife and I noticed was it slows down before some junctions and roundabouts automatically when the predictive cruise control is engaged. Couldn’t work out what was going on until we looked at the dash and saw it “knows” such things are approaching and flags it up on the screen. A bit too “simply clever” if you ask me. You can override it though.
  16. If I’m honest I still like the look of the original 19” wheels. They were diamond ground with a lacquer on. Had to clean them by hand though rather than pressure wash. The new 19” wheels are still good but I think they might trap brake dust in a channel at the rim edge. You can see the channel if you zoom in a bit. But at least these can be pressure washed.
  17. And I put my 2017 L&K 220 with 18800 on the clock (honestly) in Part Ex for it. Still looking good. Someone is going to get a great car from it - have a look on Rainworth Škoda or škoda.co.uk
  18. I got my L&K 265 4x4 on 19" Veritate in Cobalt Blue last week. Fantastic car. I upgraded from a S3 220 FWD L&K which was an equally fab car that I bought in 2017. You won't be disappointed.
  19. What octane rating petrol is required for the 265PS car? I pick up my new Superb L&K 265PS 4x4 on Monday.
  20. My July 2017 Superb L&K 220 has 13748 miles on the clock. I don't get out much LOL.
  21. Yes indeed. Strange but, maybe, true if the reports on this forum can be believed.
  22. I had to have it reset by Skoda technicians. None of the manual reset procedures, some of which are outlined above, worked. Skoda had to go into the coding and reset something. In my case the problem was traced to being due to the charge of the batteries in the key fobs being low. Somehow the Kessy system had become confused and didn't know which key was being used. It set a flag in the system that prevented the seat memory and the mirror memory from working. Three new key fob batteries (one in each fob) and a bunch of technicians with a laptop got it fixed. Fortunately my car was still in warranty back then but I had to pay for the batteries. I replace all batteries every year now whether they need it or not. The end result was a working memory system but the click box option to disable the virtual pedal for the boot disappeared from the console. I'm not too bothered about the latter! Maybe the back and forth seat movement will work for you.
  23. 18" for winter on different rims. 19" for summer on the larger rims.
  24. I seem to recall somebody having random issues like that before and it was traced to rodents having chewed through some cables. Apparently the cables are covered with something that mice are attracted to and this isn't just limited to VW group cars. Hopefully it is just a faulty infotainment module as re-wiring can get expensive.
