  1. I too got this issue after upgrading to IOS13. The problem is to do with Bluetooth regardless of whether you connect via USB or Bluetooth and have previously paired the phone via Bluetooth (with older versions of IOS). The issue doesn't occur if you have Bluetooth switched off on the phone and connect Carplay solely via USB. This is the solution - Unpair the phone from the car by going into Settings>Bluetooth (on the phone). Find the Skoda BT connection and touch the i icon. Then tap Forget This Device Turn off Bluetooth momentarily and turn it back on again. Next go through the pairing process again. A code will be displayed on the infotainment screen and will be replicated on the iPhone. Just make sure they are the same and pair the phone. If you have given the connection relevant permissions all your contacts, favourites and phone recents will be imported again. Next time you turn on the car if you connect the iPhone to the USB it will no longer ask you for the PIN number. Apple must have introduced some sort of enhanced security routine for Bluetooth within IOS13 that is probably documented somewhere but I haven't seen it.
  2. I bought mine brand new just two years back and only put 4900 miles on it. I will be keeping it a while and don't owe a bean on it (cash purchase). Like you Jerry when the leccy charging infrastructure improves and leccy car tech matures I might consider a change in a couple of years. I do keep cars a while though. I've just had my first service (variable) and there were zero issues with it. Not surprising considering the lack of usage 🤣
  3. https://www.skoda.co.uk/discover/electric-superb Looks like a facelifted S3 with 1.4L engine and leccy motor. Good for 218PS and 400NM in Sport mode Also see here https://www.skoda.co.uk/discover/electric
  4. Well I just got the news. Skoda will not honour the warranty as the damage appeared to have come from external influence. I can't argue with that as I cannot be absolutely sure when/how/where it happened. So the quote was "around £350 for the part and about £100 for fitting as they use a 3rd party". I declined and will live with it. There is no leakage into the interior as I stated earlier. As Toni has said the quality of the replacement glass was not the same quality as the original. So I also don't want to risk that either. Hey Ho.
  5. There is a rubber seal (Item 2 on the diagram below) on the top edge of the glass in the rear window on the tailgate (Saloon model). On mine it has damage amounting to a couple of nicks in the rubber. I believe they had been there since I took delivery of the car but didn't notice. There is no damage to the bodywork so it isn't as if something has been trapped. I took it into my local Skoda dealer and they are keeping it in for a few days to get approval from Skoda to repair it under warranty. Essentially the rubber seal, so they are telling me, is an integral part of the glass and therefore the whole rear screen needs replacing. They've told me "If Skoda are not willing to repair this I shall have to pay myself". They car is still under warranty just 2 years old and only 4900 miles (yes a very low mileage I know but I don't get out much 😃 ). Not like ye olden dayes when you could replace a rubber seal on its own! I wonder if the rubber needs coding like everything else VAG 🤣 There isn't any water leak into the interior as the seal seems to just prevent water from falling directly in the water channel/gutter at the top edge of the door frame. However if you look at your own you will see gaps where the seal ends at the LH and RH sides (about 2" long) where rain water actually goes. Let's see what the outcome is over the next few days. I'll keep you posted.
  6. You get used to putting the key into the bag when you have finished driving (normally at home). You probably know the idea behind the Faraday shield bag is that it helps to prevent relay theft of your car - normally done in the early hours with their eBay equipment by scroats.
  7. On the severely pot holed roads we suffer from in the north of England, that nobody has the money to repair, even my similarly DCC equipped L&K struggles to cope. I expect Australian roads in the cities and suburbs are quite a bit better.
  8. Not sure how 20"s would affect the ride quality. It's bad enough on 19"s. On my winter setup with 18"s it's like riding on a magic carpet in comparison to the summer 19"s.
  9. +1 The 16" rims will not fit on a 220. The brake disks are too big in diameter. Minimum for a 220 is 17"
  10. Just found the website http://wheelerdealers.discoveryuk.com/
  11. Wheeler Dealers is on Quest on Freeview. I think Quest have a website where you can watch episodes on demand. I am more than satisfied with the fuel consumption. In Eco I regularly get 50+mpg on the currently speed restricted 50mph motorways around here. Fantastic for a 2 litre petrol. When you are allowed to put your foot down it has a reasonable pace but of course mpg goes down (Averaging about 36 mpg long term) . Best car I've ever had and I've had a few more powerful vehicles in the past too. I bought mine from new with cash without a trade in hence the great deal.
  12. As they don't supply new 220s anymore it might be worth a punt. If you know the max you want to pay, make them a reasonable lower offer (not a silly one) and see if they will meet you in the middle. If you've ever watched Wheeler Dealers have a look how Mike Brewer (the car salesman) works. They are always after a sale and will know there are plenty of used Superbs about.
  13. I paid around that mark for a brand new fully loaded L&K 220 hatch which at the time (July 2017) was around £7K off list. Stuffed to the gills with kit. Still only done 3600 miles in it since then. Sure the one you are looking at is a slightly more expensive estate. Whatever you decide to do then you will not be disappointed.
  14. My experience of covers on cars (not just the Superb) is that the cover itself sometimes sticks to the car paintwork in hard frosts so is doubly difficult to remove - it can stick that hard that there is a fear that damage to the paintwork or trim can be done when trying to remove the cover. This is especially so when the car bodywork is slightly wet, you put on the cover and there is a big freeze overnight - you know the ones where you can't open the door as the rubber weatherstrip has frozen. Best to just resort to the scraper.
  15. I got them fitted by a mobile tyre fitter. Found him on the tinter and gave him a ring. 20 minutes later he arrived and took about 30 mins to strip the old tyres off the eBay specials, fit the Nokians, balance and fit. My 19" Phoenix Anthracites are now safely stored for winter. £70 including call out. Tried the Nokians out this morning in minus frost. They are really quiet and held the road really well. The P7s are considerable noisier and, as we know from other posts, are not the best for grip. Also I have to say the ride difference between the 18"s and the 19"s is very noticeable.
  16. Here's a good one. I bought some 18" Skoda rims off eBay and they are marked but ok. Next got some Nokian 18" 235 45's from Oponeo (arrived today) and look fab. Next phone Kwik Fit to book in for having the tyres fitted to the new rims and the guy said "Sorry we don't fit other peoples tyres". !!!!! WTF. Is that why people call them C..P Fit?
  17. I had it happen when I very first got the car, wide road and a car approaching on the opposite side. Plenty of room but going around a curve, bang - on came the brakes and the red warning. Not sure why it happened and it hasn't happened since but the car was very new to me at that point (about 45 minutes in).
  18. What size engine/type of fuel do you have? The calipers on the bigger engines need minimum 17"
  19. I know black wheels can look aggressive and on some vehicles make the car look great (black wheels and white body is a good one) - probably the contrast between the car body colour and the wheel colour. I saw some black wheels on a grey Audi the other day and from a short distance it looked like a unwashed car from the 1980s with nicked hubcaps - not a good look.
  20. I agree. Google maps is far superior and verbally warns of traffic conditions ahead in real time. The traffic info on the in built Skoda maps does warn (when you select traffic) but in my experience shows you the delays that are 80 miles away!
  21. If you have reset the pressures then try setting the Tyre Pressure Loss indicator on the infotainment again.
  22. My L&K has 19" factory fit rims with the crappy P7s fitted. As the bad weather is coming soon what do the forum users recommend for rims (I'm fine on using 17" for winter BTW) and suitable winter tyres to get me through the winter safely? I'm in the UK.
  23. I've just been contributing to another thread about the Skoda POI creator now working. But when I tried to install it on my Superb 3 Columbus it didn't work and came up with "There has been an error" "The screen will now go blank to avoid corruption" and the infotainment system rebooted. The other thread is this one However.... I subsequently dug out my original memory stick with the updated metainfo2 file from Rainmakers excellent thread (this one). The data on it had been created using VWs now defunct POI creator website. This particular memory stick had just PersonalPOI folder in the root as well as the metainfo2 file outlined on this thread. What I then did is copy the same folder that I created using the now working Skoda POI generator directly over the top of the existing PersonalPOI folder on the original memory stick - it actually overwrote 5 files - I use the Garmin .gpx export from PocketGPS world which is actually 5 categories (UK_Specs, UK_Redlight, UK_Mobile, UK_PMobile and UK_Gatso). Then I put the USB stick into the car and it imported 100%. New updates to the SpeedCameras that I know about from PocketGPSWorld then appeared and showed up correctly. So if you have an old copy of a working PersonalPOI file it is worth a go trying out the Skoda POI site. I can't supply mine as it would be a breach of my T&Cs with PocketGPSWorld so don't ask. Also thanks to @DrCorbyLee for a heads up to the poinspect0r shareware software located here https://poinspect0r.blogspot.com/. That also looks very promising (not fully looked at it yet) for a minimum of €9 contribution to the author to unlock it. This may become the only way to update a VW group infotainment system sat nav unit.
  24. A big NEY. Don't bother with the Skoda POI creator. It still does not work. Now to dig out my original memory stick that had my speedcams from Sept 2018 created with VWs POI creator. If only I could find it......
