Press open then close on key fob, until hopefully the flap opens. Just keep pressing open/close, it should flip open eventually.
Unsrew T20 I think and carefully take off rubber part. There's videos on YouTube, disconnect wire from the part mentioned, put back together and it will open and close anytime. Do people still steal fuel ?
Yes this is what I’ve been doing mate I find if I push the flap a couple of times then press open it springs open

I had this on my mk2. Got some silicone grease and wiped the area clean before applying it. Cycle the mechanism a few times and wipe the excess off. This solved it for 4 to 5 years before I got rid of it. Probably still going now
Many thanks for the tip, just ordered some ill give it a go

Hi there
Just wondering if anyone else has had the issue ive got with my 2014 VRS,
Sometimes when i go to fill the car up with diesel i cant open the flap, the way that i have to open it is push the flap lock the car then push the flap a couple of times then unlock the car and hey presto the flap springs open
is there a way of solving this problem?
your advise would be much appreciated on this matter as it is starting to do my nut in

OK cool, yeah that all I've used atm, well self drilling screws which removed the need to jack the front of the car up enough to get a drill under it. There's just some very small sections where I can see slight daylight between the splitter and body work and just wondered if I should run a thin line of sealer along where the splitter meets the body work so it's completely air tight?
Think I might need to add some rubber spacers on the right side section of the splitter as I'm not sure if it's the way the cars sitting or the way the light hits the splitter but it might be sitting ever so slightly higher that side (that's me bring OCD)....
Hi was it easy enough to remove the silver grill surround? I’m thinking of getting a black surround for mine

Well at long last we’ve had some decent weather, so it’s time to give the car a wash and detail, took around 3 hours to do but enjoyed every minute,
Products used:
Bilt Hamber Korrosol,
Autosmart Tardis,
Bilt Hamber Auto Foam,
Bilt Hamber Auto Wheels
2 bucket wash using Power Maxed Ultra Shampoo/wax Meguires lambswool mitt,
Dried off with microfibre towel,
Then waxed with Fusso Soft99,
Autosmart Glass Glow on windows and lights,
Meguires Endurance tyre gel,
Auto Finesse Spritz
Really pleased with the results, good to get rid of all winter weather off the car
She now looks back to her best;
Oh and finished off with 4 cans of ice cold Stella Artois, not a bad day really
Now roll on the summer
Cheers Neil

I agree this is totally normal behaviour, My 2014 2.0 TDI VRS runs a lot cooler in the winter with the heaters on,
Winter (-5 to say +5C) oil is usually in the region of 70-85C.
Rest of the year on the same run oil is in the area of 90-100C.
