  1. I found it on skoda website part number 3B0 941 160 B. It is listed as fitting fabia and rooster FL but it fits octavia 2 just as well. Road lights H7 light bulb. Just in case anyone else is in need. It's cheap as chips under 2 euro but delivery is 15 euro so best to combine with other items I suppose
  2. Does anyone know where to buy such a foam replacement? The side support collapsed and driving became unpleasant. Tried a seat cover cushion thing but it's crap one just doesn't fit in the seat anymore and taking turns make u move on the seat. If no base foams for Scout what seats are compatible with it if anyone knows? Thank you
  3. hi I need some help please I used to have Scout 2008 then got an opportunity to get Octavia 1.4 TSi 2010 in really great shape so swapped the front seats as the Scout had electric 1 with memory and all. It used ot be lovely and not it is not anymore so I figured out I need new foam seat cushion. are they the same? I don't have the old VIN so cant check compatibility before buying. plus have anyone replaced it on their own? a bloke I called up quoted £250 plus VAT, seems steep when the car itself was 2.4K would be grateful for any advise; Are the seats same across the range in terms of shape and size? feels they are as the base fitted and it looks kind of the same. can the foam seat cushion be bought on the cheap or its got to be original? is is difficult to renew yourself or got to pay to have it done? cash it tight in the pandemic... thanks in advance
  4. It's my mate I trust him not to rip me off It seems that different BCMs support different functions, even on briskoda some one lists 8 different ones. Some support fog lights some don't ect. U think he is talking rubbish? If the vehicle did not have a function built in originally he says it will not support it
  5. Carlston you seem to know a lot about it I am just a driver not much clue. in simple language is such change from 205/55 R16 on standard skoda alloys to the 17 inches standard alloys from Scout beneficial? will it be safer or better drive?
  6. Hi everyone, want to upgrade bits and bobs on my Octavia reg 60. I want electrically moving drivers seat, electrically folding wing mirrors and was told by my guy I need ne BCM but there are loads of them with all different serial numbers. my guy said that since the current seats and mirrors are manual the existing BCM is not able to control them, he said before BCMs were ready to take on anything but in my octy and newer cars they started using BCMs controlling only what is in the car to start with and if I want to upgrade I need a BCM which is able to control all those extra functions. Does anyone have any idea?
  7. guys I am grateful to everyone who took part and helped out. just to let you know the scrapped scout was 10 reg plate and mine is 60, so the same year but different halves. so seats don't fit, multifunctional driving wheel does not fit side mirrors don't fit, my guy said the 60 reg has completely different tech applied, there must have been an upgrade in 2010, just be aware
  8. The wheels on sale are fitted with 225/50 R17 tires, so if it is 3.5% error then say when I think I am driving 30mhm I would be driving slower than 31mph, at 70 mph it would be 73 mph, would it not be negligible?
  9. My current wheels are 16". Can Speedo be re coded or adjusted to bigger wheels? Does it have to be adjusted? Is the difference significant enough?
  10. Hi, the guy seems to be scrapping the scout, how about seats, his drivers seat is electric mine is manual. Will the car? I know a guy who can wire it just wander if the seats are the same size will fit the rails ect
  11. I just wander if there is any difference I can buy 17" alloys from Octavia scout 4x4, will they fit Octavia 2 wheel drive? Is there any difference?
  12. Plus my mechanic says the oil gets to 1 cylinder only around the piston or so he said
  13. Thank you for that mate, I have just looked at my own post and I can see I have had 1 too many while posting. The engine is 1.8 tsi on skoda Octavia scout 4x4. I have 2 skodas. So does 1.8 have VVT as well to your knowledge? Cheers
  14. Engine management light lit up then ecp went on. Took her to a garage and they said oil gets into combustion chamber in one cylinder only. I am considering using oil additives and the preferred one is Ametech RESTORE engine restorer. It is ok to use in all engines apart from VVT or VVTi engines according to the maker. How can I find out if it is VVT and if it is can you help suggesting any other oil addotive? Need to stop or limit oil getting to combustion chamber. Any other solutions? Thicker oil with higher velocity to slow the leak down? Any ideas or suggestions apart from getting new engine ? My mechanic renewed spark plugs and oil filter as temporary measure but it will not last. Cheers
