  1. I've ordered some h7 and h15 Osram Nightbreaker bulbs so hoping to fit those when they arrive. I also have a pair of h8 super bright led bulbs that i kept from my previous car. If I fitted the h8s is there likely to be a canbus error ? If it did throw up an error would I be able to fit the original bulbs back in and clear the error and revert back to standard ? Den
  2. Thanks for all the input. Mine doesn't have acc so have to assume it's Front Assist either on or off. All I was wondering was what sort of distance between myself and any vehicle in front would trigger the Front Assist before the warning then the brakes. Den
  3. On page 66 of the Amundsen manual it mentions the early, medium and late settings under the Front assist not the light assist but is for version 2. I must have version 1. As long as my version 1 works as intended that'll be fine. Thanks. Den
  4. I have front assist on my newly acquired Octavia Mk3. Doing some searching on previous posts I've found that there appears to be 2 versions of this. On version 2 you are able to select the distance level at early, medium or late. On mine, which I assume is version 1, I can only switch it on or off. So, on my version 1 I assume that the distance is already at a preset level. If that's correct what will it be set at ? I would probably assume medium but maybe not. Also, on my version 1, does the system work by first giving a warning then if I do nothing it will then apply the brakes. Den
  5. As I normally use Firefox I've found and installed an extension for that so I'll see how that goes. Den
  6. Ok, thanks for that. Looks like I'll have to live with it then Den
  7. I've been spending a bit of time searching through the old posts on the forum to find helpful tips etc. On a lot of the posts where there is photos I can see the photos ok but on some postings all I see is a box stating "Enable 3rd party hosting" . I've looked in my account and profile and can't find a way to do this. Can anyone advise me how I can do this. Thanks. Den
  8. Welcome to the forum Rob. Just joined here myself a few days ago and have had help from members already and found loads of good info when searching. I'm not too far from you at Bedlington. Had many cars over the years but this is my first Skoda. It's a 2017 66 plate Octavia 1.6 TDI Se L and loving it ! Den
  9. Many thanks for the quick reply. I'll have a look for the electronic version and that should keep me going until I receive the handbook. Cheers. Den
  10. Collected my Octavia a couple of days ago but there wasn't a handbook with it. The dealer is ordering one for me but it'll be a couple of weeks so there's a few things that I don't know and would be grateful if anyone can provide the info until I get the handbook. It's a 2017 (66 plate) 1.6 TDI SE L. I don't know what brand/grade of engine oil to use. Like all cars I've had, I like to keep a litre handy for topping up. Also, what type/brand of antifreeze/coolant will it need. It's up to the correct level just now but again I'd like to have some for topping up. The stuff that's in is a pinkish colour. I have a bottle of top up coolant that I used on my last car, a 2013 Mk3 Focus. That was also a pinkish colour so wondering if that would be ok to use. Lastly, what is the tyre pressures all round. I know it's marked on the label on the fuel filler flap but it's in bars and I just want to know what it is in psi. Thanks. Den
  11. Just giving a quick introduction after joining the forum. I'm 68 years young and I've had cars and motorcycles all my life. I collect my silver 66 plate Octavia 1.6 tdi SE L on Monday. Currently have a Mk3 Focus that I'm p/xing to get the Octavia. I'll be searching the forum for the answers to the many questions I'll probably have and asking when necessary. Also hope to be contributing to the forum in the future. Den
