  1. the best looking while easy to maintain Kodiaq is a white Sportline or RS (black accents contrast beautifully). go bolder than you think you can manage. i found Race Blue too vivid at first. in love with the colour now. unless you own a car wash, the only bad choice is black
  2. i doubt Fair Go will air the complaint, as Skoda have sponsored giveaways on sister show Seven Sharp. but you're right - getting them to acknowledge faults, even with clear evidence, is nigh-on-impossible. i'd actually spend the money getting a detailed list of faults from an independent mechanic, and using it as written proof. a social media post on the right page can do wonders
  3. how about this for 'just because you can doesn't mean you should' ? i like my cars to stand out visually
  4. can attest to how well it works - a non-negotiable feature, esp if your tyre sizes aren't common
  5. i've found a reputable VAG-specialist coder who is confident of achieving most of the following. a 4-hour drive away, which would main having to go back to remove error codes will be a major hassle. how likely will these mods cause issues ? 2020 Kodiaq RS orange front DRLs (at present, white DRLs turn orange when indicating) • enable locking of car while engine remains running • permanently disable Start/Stop • disable beeping when driver’s door is opened while engine is running • entire rear light cluster indicating • memory of last-selected drive mode on start-up
  6. door handles would look good wrapped in gloss black. not sure what sort of impact they'd have on KESSY operation, though
  7. good call. grossly overpriced, imo
  8. on my shopping list. so too is locking the door while engine is running
  9. in your opinion - which is better value overall ? Kamiq MC or Kodiaq RS ?
  10. know if the new bumper can fit on the current RS and if it can be purchased from dealers in due course ?
  11. Skoda's DRL game seem to be going backwards - DRLs no longer turning into indicators, little dinky ones instead, on the cop cars. rear indicator lacks visibility. would much rather a bold solid one at the rear, eg newer BMWs, than scrolling
  12. the more fuel you burn, the hotter engine gets ? mine gets to 115 C when i climb hills at speed drinking at 12 L / 100km
  13. i'll eat my words - it is a useful feature. possible to retrofit the feature to a MY 20 Kodiaq RS ?
  14. why do people buy greyscale cars when such beauties exist ? great choice
  15. 'wheel-tyre combo', i meant. how to edit title ?
  16. what are the best looking wheels one can buy for the Kodiaq RS, that will take tyres in common (and hence less expensive and hard to find) sizes ? love my Extremes, but the 235 / 45 / R 20s they require cost about NZD 700 each unless i'm prepared to wait 2 months for special orders. am ok with anything 18 inches and up
  17. spoke to an independent VAG specialist, his diagnosis was " faulty motor in the number 2 coolant pump " . dealer disregards video evidence. i'll have to pay repeat visits until i'm able to reproduce the noise in person. anyone have new findings to report ?
  18. anyone have the inputs required to achieve the following ? • locking car while engine remains running • permanently disable Start/Stop • permanently disable headlight washers • memory of last-selected drive mode on start-up • disable beeping when driver’s door is opened while engine is running • orange front DRLs
  19. my previous Superb had noisy suspension, but no such issues with the Kodiaq, which has since been thoroughly surpassed by the Kia Sorento. can't go far wrong with an Octavia RS - e-diff and good tyres will mitigate 2wd
  20. sure about that ? asking as i leave have the aircon running with engine idle for approx 30 mins while my kid has a nap
  21. because the price of high-octane fuel in nz is a rip-off. would only consider cars using 91 or diesel here. PHEVs excepted
  22. you're implying that over time, soot burn-off becomes more incomplete (filter clog) ?
  23. have a diesel RS here in nz. hardly venture out of 60 kmh suburbia. 2 DPF warnings in 40,000 km. easily cleared by a 10 min motorway blast with DSG in S. longer term, who knows. would choose the Sportline for refinement. fuel economy inconsequential as the RS diesel isn't particularly frugal
  24. this is mine. Kodiaq RS. dealer not the most helpful. wants me to reproduce the sound at dealership, says video is insufficient evidence. water pump, according to others https://streamable.com/715qyb
