  1. The WiFi on the drive check just reassures you the internet radio does work at least but as you hardly of any use. However as I said previously I think you can only access on the go in a seamless way when you have purchased an infotainment data package from Cubix. Sadly You no longer have the option to insert your own data sim on the MIB3 units. I should think you should be able to link it to a mobile hotspot as an internet source but I seem to remember this disables the inbuilt esim and cuts off other services you can of course use an internet radio app on CarPlay or Android Auto
  2. Yes I have an MIB3 unit in my LK and it works fine. But it’s nothing to do with the Connect service. You need to have signed up to the data deal to get the internet in the car. You can then access the online stations and podcast and save them as shortcuts etc. Alternatively you can reconfigure the operation to access via a home home WiFi on your drive. I should think you can also set up your own mobile as a hotspot and use that internet - but this will disable the esim in the car for connected services
  3. Hi i think the official answer is that it is not possible, so what the dealer has told you is correct. However I seem to remember when the V C first came out a chap in Cz had a YouTube video of him doing exactly what you want on an older Kodiaq. However, this would no doubt impact on your warranty etc as half the instrument panel had to be removed and so on. Also, it would have been the MIB2 Columbus unit not MIB3. I’m sure you will be able to locate it. I have the VC in my L&K and it works fine, albeit the customisation options are not as easy or extensive as some people want.. it was not an option on my old 2018. SEL and I think it’s a good innovation.
  4. Glad it all worked for the hotspot eventually. Mine does. Yogi Bear is spot on with his reply. The esim is there it’s just what you pay for apart from the care connect services. You can check when any licences you have will expire in the Shop on MIB3 units and in the Connect app on MiB2. To clarify other points, in MIB3 the sim will download the map as long as you pay for the service. It’s not part of the lifetime care connect. also, you can now upload maps in MIB3 using the USB C slots in the console. The update portal has a guide for MIB3 users, including UK. Once you have a new map you do not have to use esim. Indeed, you can use an sd card as well by plugging in an address card reader with usb c lead (available on Amazon) for about £10) All my SD cards with music from my MIB 2 unit happily play through the MIB3 unit this way rather than use USB sticks
  5. Hi all I was suggesting concerned the hotspot settings on the IOS equipment. When you go into the Personal Hotspot settings on your phone you of course have to select Allow others to join but below the wifi password you should see all the connection options such as wifi, bluetooth or usb cable. They all work fine on my unit. If you dont see these options it might suggest it is more an Apple issue rather than on the MIB3 unit. That's all. The fact that you can connetc to your home wifi on the drive might support this view as well. Forgeting the car, can your phone act as a wif hotspot for someone else's phone? If so, its a Skoda problem - good luck the dealers dont know much about the MIB3 units Regards
  6. I have a month old L&K with an MIB3 unit. You are correct you will have to to disable the e-sim to set up a WiFi hotspot. Simple answer is yes I have linked my car to my home WiFi on the drive and both an IPhone and an IPad as a mobile hotspot. The only problem I had immediately after delivery was getting the data plan on the inbuilt e-sim but after a couple of calls to the provider all sorted. on your Apple device, have you set up the hotspot as usb/cable only or to include WiFi/Bluetooth as well? If you don’t the hotspot won’t work unless you have a usb connection. However if you can see your iPhone listed in the car it looks like it’s not the issue.
  7. Hi I use https://www.pocketgpsworld.com you get some free POI such as supermarkets but have to subscribe for the main camera info. You can download them as csv files for Columbus and then upload them to your car on the online Connect portal.as long as you subscribe. Just done Dec 2019 update over holiday period and worked fine. Took about 5 minutes i use the same files to update my wife’s Yeti using an SD card so I assume this would work for Kodiaq or a USB. The formatting is more difficult as the VW site no longer works so I use POI Inspector. I have also used it to update my daughters SEAT Arona and son’s Golf SE Nav. see https://poinspect0r.blogspot.com but I admit it’s fiddly to use first time. Direct method via Connect portal a doddle good luck
  8. My wife has a 64 plate Yeti and we had the official unit retrofitted when we bought the car a couple of years ago. It works fine just like a factory fit. The car has Bluetooth but no smart link so no chance of anything like CarPlay. It is not a cheap option though. Main dealer wanted over £1250 to supply and fit. I got a specialist retrofit operation to do it for half the price in the end. Still worth it as wife not keen on phone based version of anything stuck on windscreen. i did look at a Kenwood approved option instead which was cheaper and included Apple CarPlay but it looked really odd when fitted and retrofit specialist advised they fitted a load but had removed them as customers were not happy. if it helps, we used https://www.advanced-incar.co.uk/. They work across U.K. But are local to us. On their YouTube site they even have a video of the work on our car. good luck
  9. Hi apologies I am away travelling at the moment and my car is not currently set up that way and all the parts are a few hundred miles away. I won't be back there till September. But I think all the part numbers I used in addition to those supplied with original vehicle were in earlier post. However mine was a diy solution with wooden rails I cut to support the variable floor. The price you have been quoted suggests you are being offered something more organised such as an official retrofit solution which has been rumoured before and should be better. Also if it is as priced it would be cheaper than my solution as I think the parts and wheel must have cost c £750. If you are still struggling in a few weeks time get back in touch and I'll dig out any part numbers you still need
  10. Hi the part number I quoted is what is moulded into the polystyrene insert and nothing else. This fits into and smooths over the indent in the floor plan which a spare wheel normally would sit in so you have a smooth floor if you dont have a spare wheel. They may supply it with some tools etc but I am surprised if they want to sell you a wheel as this part would be only for the 5 seater without a spare wheel!. The spare wheel kit which others have mentioned is to retrofit a spare wheel into a 5 seater supplied without one. This includes the tyre, tools and polystyrene larger/higher inserts in peices to fit around the wheel. As I mentioned before I have both and swap as needed. Earlier in the thread the link to an Ebay listings shows that in situ. The 5 seater floor mat for a boot without a spare wheel fitted to sit on top of 565 093 860 is 565 863 463 N CA 9 on mine. I know from previoius discussions with the parts people that N CA 9 is the colour code (I have dark grey - they do a sandy brown as well for example) Good luck
  11. Do you mean the grey floor carpet? I will find out - I think it is in the loft at the moment!
  12. Hi the part number is 565 863 957 and this is what it looks like
  13. All I can do is find the part and check if any numbers. I am traveling today but look asap
  14. PS just checked your question again to make sure I have covered all I can. When you buy a 5 seater without a spare wheel you also get a small thinner bit of polystyrene similar to the shaped pieces that fit round the wheel. This sits on top of the indent in the floor pan to smooth it out. so when you have the floor mat on top it is smooth. If I opt to configure my boot back to basics I take everything out and put the small polystyrene panel back in before the larger floor carpet (as you get higher in the Kodiaq boot each floor carpet and mat gets smaller as the boot area is widest at its deepest point. I do agree though if you take everything out it does make a significant difference to carrying capacity
  15. This is exactly the car I have. From memory the car as originally supplied still had an indent for the spare wheel which was smoothed over by the mat. I wanted the best of both worlds. A spare when needed on a long journey but a deeper boot sometimes for larger items but also the raised boot floor if I need to move longer items so i get a level load floor equal to the same height as the folded row of middle seats. I did two things. First bought the replacement tyre set and inserts. This gives me a raised boot floor but not a level load option. Second I bought the parts for the 5 seater with the variable load floor. In 2018 in the UK this was only ever available on the lower spec 5 seater models not on my SE L version (else I would have ordered it). It was quite commonly available outside the UK at the higher spec. They dont do the 2018 specs now so not sure of current situation. Indeed I think many of the 5 seater options have gone The issue to solve is that I bought the two top panels to sit level with the boot lip and the mid row of seats when folded flat. However if you have a factory fitted variable boot they supply two brackets bolted to the chassis which allows the lift and tilt feature and support the panels on the join. You cannot retrofit this. So I cut 3 rails of wood and laid them in the boot in a H shape with the cross rail sitting below the join in the 2 top level floor panels. If you cut the right size with a tight fit the pressure keeps them in place. So I now have what I couldn't buy from the factory a five seater 2018 SEL 190 DSG with a spare wheel and a variable boot floor etc. Indeed I can have all of these at once. The boot is deep enough to have the spare wheel and poly inserts with the grey boot mat on top plus the split floor panels supported by my H arrangement above that to give me a flat rear floor if I want. You also create a void between the two levels which you can access by lifting up the top panel to store stuff in. I just swap things about as needed. I would say this was not a cheap arrangement nor easy to track down the part nos as when I was doing it most of the Kodiaq part numbers were not easily available The variable floor panels were very £££ I thought - you could do it with a strong sheet of wood but it would look odd. A dealer has suggested that Skoda may release a retrofit kit for the variable load floor similar to my wooden H but I haven't seen anything (although I don't need to look now)
