Mirror fallen away from windscreen.
The car has been at Skoda today and as expected they have stated the warranty will not cover it. Oddly they won't even price up a new screen. They have just said contact a windscreen company who should be able to reattach it. National windscreens have said they wouldn't reattach it, just supply and fit a new screen. I argued that it shouldn't have failed, but Skoda have taken the stance that they don't know the history of the car before they sold it to us, which I find odd given it was an approved used car from a Skoda main dealership. I have raised a case with Skoda UK. Waiting to hear from them. To say I'm frustrated is an understatement. Don't expect this from a 6 year old car, the bonding should last the lifetime of the screen.

Mirror fallen away from windscreen.
This is what is and isn't included so unless they are classing it as interior trim I don't think it's mentioned specifically. I have looked at these adhesives. Just wondering if it would work. I guess for a few quid it's worth a shot but I don't really want to damage it anymore and then have Skoda tell me it isn't covered. Maybe I'll wait until they have looked at it as you never know, they may cover it.

Mirror fallen away from windscreen.
I've spoken with national windscreens today and they have said as the bracket has fallen away it would require a replacement screen as the bracket is bonded to the glass at manufacturer. Booked in with JCB Skoda Maidstone for the 9th of June which is the earliest date they had. We have only had the car 11 months and when we bought it we were given a 3 year warranty which we increased to 4, but straight away they service guy stated it probably won't be covered by warranty as they don't normally fail so could be some external influence.

Mirror fallen away from windscreen.
Hi all. Our mirror has fallen off the screen today. Can I just buy something to stick it back on or is it a bit more involved. The car is a 20 plate sport line

Noise when pressing clutch pedal.
Hi all. Every now and again when I use my car the clutch pedal makes a strange clunky noise for the first 2 or 3 presses then it gradually disappears and won't do it for a while. Any ideas what it could be. I know you can't really hear it brilliantly on this video but it makes a metallic spring noise to go with the clunk. It's done it for years. I did have the clutch and flywheel changed last year but it did it before the change and continues to do it. PXL_20260414_083610056~2.mp4

Dsg service costs.
I don't believe they will update service history. I have not got a quote from a main dealer yet. I don't think I'm interested if they don't change the filter.

Dsg service costs.
Hi. I requested a quote for a dsg service on our karoq. 7 speed wet clutch dq381 from a local independent vag specialist. Come back with £419. Does that sound about right. The cost of the fluid is the biggest outlay. Labour looks to be 1 hour charged.

Battery and alternator advice needed please.
I've had different readings the few times I've checked it. Last week when I checked it it said 12.1v whilst sitting on the drive running. So I thought maybe the alternator was faulty. Yesterday doing the same check 14.5v which would suggest the alternator was working. Which is why I said in a post above I'm not sure that it's just the battery. Especially if you factor in the car yesterday allowed the engine to stop but then it didn't have the guts to restart. That to me points to something else.

Battery and alternator advice needed please.
But what if the issue isn't the battery alone? It's ok saying go and buy a new battery, but if the alternator is also faulty or there is an issue somewhere else, a new battery isn't going to fix my problem. I'd happily go and find someone if Skoda paid for the cost. I don't see why I should have to pay to fix a fault in a car that we've owned less then 6 months. But because they won't do the right thing I have no choice but to wait. My frustration is, we bought this to Skoda's attention in July and we were told nothing wrong, your wife must have left something open or on. Which clearly isn't the case. But quite clearly there is something wrong. In my view Skoda should have said bring it in and we will find time to look at it. I'm not a mechanic so I can't say either a new battery will sort the issue,

Battery and alternator advice needed please.
I spoke with Skoda again yesterday evening as yesterday morning my wife took the car to go to work and it started ok. The stop start kicked in at a junction when she stopped (she forgot to disable it) then the car couldn't restart so she had to use the jump pack on it to get it going. I spoke with Skoda and asked how that was possible and they couldn't tell me. I asked if I were to go and have a new battery fitted elsewhere would they reimburse the cost and they said no. So, I'm still having to wait until next Tuesday for it to go to the garage. In the meantime time my wife is now driving mine as I don't seem this safe now. Yesterday evening when my wife bought it home she left it running on the drive and the battery with the car running showed 14.5v which to me shows the alternator was working. When I shut it off it rapidly dropped to 12.3v and then upon starting it again it fell to under 9v briefly before recovering again. So it's got to need a new battery l, but I'm still.notnconvinced the alternator is doing its job correctly either.

Managed to get my appointment moved to the 18th November. Bloody car wouldn't start yesterday so put the jump pack on it and got it going. The rest of the day after a drive to work and back it was ok and we charged it over night and it fired up ok this morning.

I'm not totally sure. When it went in last time they just said they charged the battery and tested it and were happy with it. But what they tested im not too sure.

Ok thanks for the input. I kinda just wanted to get some idea before I take it to Skoda and they tell me it's all ok. It's already left my wife stranded once when it went flat before so I'd be less than pleased if it did it a second time after Skoda telling us it's all ok. We have bought one of those jump start packs so hopefully get us out of a hole if the worst happens. But we will see what they say when it goes in on 25th November.

Battery and alternator advice needed please.
Hi everyone. Back in June, we bought an approved used 20 plate Karoq 2.0tsi 4x4 from our local Skoda dealership. About a month after the battery went flat. Skoda took the car back, charged the battery and tested everything, and said they couldn't find an issue. It's been fine since. Last week we went on holiday in my car and the Karoq stayed at home. Upon our return, the car started but struggled. We noticed the cruise control, even though it was on, had no symbols in the dashboard. I charged the battery overnight, and the next day the cruise control worked. The battery was showing 12.6v when sitting turned off, and when starting dropped to 10.6v. However, when sitting at idle, the battery initially shows 13.3v and then drops and shows 12.1v, which is where it stays, which to me does not seem right. I tested my car, a Skoda Superb, and at idle, mine sits at just over 14v. So it's almost like the alternator isn't working correctly, but the car does start. Does anyone know if an alternator can do this? I just assumed it either worked or it didn't. Thanks. Adrian.

2.0tdi sluggish at low revs.
The throttle seems to work ok. Maybe a little lag, or like a small dead spot at the start but I think that's normal from what I've read. The revs stay up until the clutch starts to engage. So to dip the clutch before doesn't do anything. It's when the clutch engages and the car starts to move I get the issue. It is very hard to explain because everything kind of works as it should, it's just that the engine revs drop considerably and the car stalls. I would say it's me pulling the clutch up to quick but I don't think it is. I've driven for over 20 years all manual gearbox, and I've had this car for 8 years. It's just feels really odd.

Yeah it just stalls. Don't seeklm to matter how slow I let the clutch up if I don't dip it again it just stalls. Very odd sensation, make driving quite hard when pulling away especially on hills.

So, I'm not very technical. If it was a split how would I try to find it and do you know where the intake is on the engine. Does it run from the air box to the turbo?

If I was to measure real time data what do I compare it to to see if I have a problem or not?

2.0tdi sluggish at low revs.
So, the car has behaved this way for years. The but I can't remember is how it drove when I first bought it. I've had it since 2018, it had cambelt and pump done in 2021. I'm wondering if it's to do with timing but I can't remember how it drove before having that changed. I'd say it does pull ok when the turbo kicks in. If I let the revs drop to idle then boot it, it picks up but slowly until around 2k revs. So again I'd say pretty normal. If I just pull away on clutch alone it will move without it feeling like it wants to stall as the anti stall cuts in. But tonight I tried pulling away with a decent amount of revs and I just pulled the clutch up slowly and the car just stalled. All the revs just disappear. So to stop this I dip the clutch and then bring it up again and then because it's rolling it won't stall. Not sure how else I can explain it. Car should be able to tow 2 tons. The caravan is 1400kg fully loaded. So I know that's not a small amount of weight but these cars have won awards for towing but I certainly wouldn't say mines a good tow car.
