  2. I had an 096 battery sized sleeve in stock from a previous car and was able to use that. I agree the sleeves are difficult to source. I'm not convinced they are very important in our climate here in the UK though?
  3. A great choice , I did a similar upgrade but with an Exide AGM battery. The 096 size AGM battery has great reserves of power despite my car standing for many days at a time . The original smaller EFB battery was not very forgiving. The original battery sleeve (insulation) didn't fit but I had a spare of the correct size from an old car which I used. The battery leads reached the terminals without any problems.
  4. Apologies not 057 but 027 . I stand corrected. It's a bit of a pain that you can't correct a post some time after the event?
  5. The biggest battery that will fit the Mark 3 Octavia is the 096. The original battery sleeve might not fit if the original battery was the smaller 057 size. In my case I replaced the OEM 057 EFB battery with an 096 AGM from Tanya batteries . It arrived the following day. I coded it with OBD ELEVEN. In my opinion it is cheaper to buy your own OBD ELEVEN and supply and fit the battery yourself even if you never use OBD ELEVEN again? My OEM battery lasted just over 3 years and 5 months but lockdown didn't help and TBH I didn't charge it often enough during long periods when the car was parked!
  6. ,I've had a weird issue with my 2018 Octavia 1.5tsi petrol manual estate. The engine cut our completely after a warning came up on the mfd showing engine revs limited to 1700rpm ( or similar, can't quite remember) . The car had zero power.bWe were lucky not to be on the M1 South deathtrap ( no hard shoulder) as we had turned off at junction 33 to Sheffield. The car coasted to the side of the road as it wouldn't rev. The MFD lit up with random messages. The car wouldn't crank on the starter , but radio worked , all lights worked . Warning lights were random ,then went out completely. AA attended , plugged into OBD2 port but no power and no readings . After 45 minutes the AA guy tapped the 645 relay under the bonnet in the fuse/ relay box that provides power to the ECU. Car fired up and drove normally despite battery being somewhat depleted as I'd put all the lights on to warn others . The dealer claims that their scan showed no faults and could not replicate the issue. After much negotiation the dealer reluctantly replaced the relay free of charge . ( I said I'd pay if they wouldn't do it for free as I didn't trust the relay) Car was under extended warranty but dealer claimed Skoda wouldn't pay as the car showed no fault when scanned ! You couldn't make it up !! It seems fine now. Fingers crossed. I've scanned it myself with OBD Eleven and despite what the dealer said they have cleared some fault codes.
  7. Unfortunately rubber floor mats are more than 2 kg. But thanks for the reassurance.
  8. Thanks , I'll look at that possibility in the future. My issue is that the excellent genuine Skoda rubber footmats I bought ( along with other large items) from Superskoda, now Kopacek are now starting to wear ( at least the driver's one is) . They were superb value from Superskoda. I'm considering keeping the Octavia for another two years now and may take up the new "All in from Skoda". It goes in for an Eligibility check tomorrow. I've got to say the Octavia is the best new car I've owned after I had to start buying them for myself! I just wish I'd bought a petrol VRS Estate!
  9. I agree absolutely that many lighting items from Kopacek are well engineered but unfortunately due to the UK leaving the EU , ( I have my own reasons for doubting the practicality of that decision) it seems that buying items from Kopacek is now not so easy. I will miss that opportunity if I keep my Octavia until it needs more accessories . However for now my interior lighting issues are resolved. Thanks for your advice.
  10. I meant boot open warning on the MFD when the glovebox was open! Sorry 😔.
  11. Hi , I had all sorts of strange issues after I changed just the light units in the boot to eBay and AliExpress multi led type replacement units ( I had two sets)..Curiously my son in law had no such issues with units he fitted bought from Superskoda and when I borrowed them and fitted them in my car the issues I had went away . However being from Yorkshire and tight with money I persevered and replaced all the other incandescent bulbs within the interior of the car with led ones ( glovebox and overhead lights) , my car hasn't got ambient lighting or footwell lights. Once all the lights were replaced with leds all the open glovebox warnings on the mfd and alarm sounding issues and odd interior light dimming glitches went away. 2 years on and no problems. My car is a 2018 SEL Estate. I can only assume that the BCM or whatever clever system monitors the interior lighting didn't like the mixture of led and incandescent lamps?
  12. The umbrella is usually in the tray under the passenger seat.
  13. I've got a 2018 1.5 SEL manual estate. It was first registered in March 2018. It has never had the often reported kangarooing issue but initially it used to over rev on applying the accelerator pedal on moving away from idle revs . Bristol Street Motors Chesterfield applied a software fix and the over revving went away. I still find it difficult to match the sweet spot when going from idle to moving off . It tends to hesitate slightly. My other car an ancient 2006 VW Eos 2.0 litre turbo petrol is so easy to control in comparison moving from idle to part throttle but swallows petrol like there's no tomorrow. The Octavia can be almost incredibly fuel efficient on a long run and it is reasonably fast for a biggish car. The 1.4 litre Octavia Estate I borrowed to sample the vehicle type before I made the purchase I believe was faster and the engine more willing to rev and maybe slightly smoother but not as economical . I bought the 1.5 hoping the reliability from the engine updates applied to the 1.5 over the 1.4 would lead to greater longevity. I wonder which engine will be better in the long term 1.4 or 1.5? So far so good with mine!
  14. I'm no electronics engineer but the diodes are still present in the glovebox light units and the overhead light units after the change from halogen to led bulbs . In my case ( and it seems for others ) the cure for the odd tailgate open warning , interior light dimming and alarm problems is cured by replacing the existing halogen bulbs with led lamps in the glovebox and the overhead light units . The diodes are built into the glovebox light units and overhead light units and I didn't remove them . Why do multi led lamp units from Superskoda fitted in place of the existing single halogen boot lamp units (which are diode equipped) not cause problems when multi led ones from eBay and AliExpress do cause issues? I guess they all come from a large eastern continent?
  15. Glad the fix worked for you . Cheaper than fitting Superskoda multi led boot/trunk light units. I like many things about the equipment from Superskoda but their shipping costs are excessive for small items which has at times prompted me to shop elsewhere!
  16. I had the same issues , but then I changed all the interior lamps to led then the problems went away! ( By all the interior lights , I mean those in the glovebox, and overhead lights as I don't have footwell lights ). Before I completed the full change I experienced some strange issues including tailgate open warnings when glovebox open, alarm sounding if interior lights left on when vehicle locked when the alarm was armed and Interior lights not dimming after car locked . It seems the BCM on my 2018 UK SEL estate car did not agree with a mixture of halogen interior lights and multi led boot light units . I tried 2 sets sourced from eBay and AliExpress. Both sets caused issues. I didn't try the multi led boot light units from Superskoda so I don't know if these are issue free? If I fitted replacement single lamp led bulbs eg Osram in the existing lamp units in the boot / trunk there were no boot open warning issues etc . etc. but they were not so bright so I persevered and fitted LEDs in all the interior lights! I hope it works for you!
  17. Tail lights on with DRL 1 - Module 09 - Electronic. Code (31347) 2 - Adaptation 3 - Select – Leuchte 23SL HLC10 4 - Sub – Lichtfunktion D 23 5 - Change value to Tagfahrlicht (Daytime Running Light) 6 - Set Dimmwert CD 23 to 127 7 - Select – Leuchte 24 HRA65 8 - Sub – Lichtfunktion C 24 9 - Change value to Tagfahrlicht (Daytime Running Light) 10 - Set Dimmwert CD 24 to 127 The above VCDS /OBD Eleven setting should enable what is known as Scandinavian Running Lights where the rear lights are on with the front daytime running Light. I can't remember which device I used to alter the coding but it worked ok on my car.
  18. Sidelight LED ‘Whiskers’ on with DRL 1 - Module 09 - Electronic. Code (31347) 2 - Adaptation 3 - Select – Leuchte 16BLK SLB35BLK SL KC9 4 - Sub – Lichtfunktion C 16 5 - Change value to Tagfahrlicht (Daytime Running Light) 6 - Set Dimmwert CD 16 to 127 7 - Select – Leuchte 17TFL R BLK SRB3TFL R BLK SR KC3 8 - Sub – Lichtfunktion C 17 9 - Change value to Tagfahrlicht (Daytime Running Light) 10 - Set Dimmwert CD 17 to 127. Sorry the comfort setting didn't work on your car. Try the above it is really cool and I did it with the borrowed Hex can VCDS!
  19. Change number of flashes of comfort indicator Very interesting for those who believe that comfort intermittent mode fall short with 3 flashes. The maximum value is 5 blinks. 1 - Module 09 - Electronic. Code (31347) 2 - Adaptation 3 - Select - Control of intermittent 4 - Sub - Komfortblinken blinkzyklen 5 - Change to the desired value - Maximum 5 6 - Reset factory settings on the screen lights. i actually used an OBD Eleven App to enable the above. I used to borrow a hex can VCDS as my old VCDS which I use on my ancient (2006 ) Vw Eos won't work with my 2018 Octavia so I bought an OBD Eleven and decided to try out one or two Apps as they were free. I'm not a fan of Apps but it did work Therefore I cannot vouch for the above but give it a try .
  20. Activation of second rear fog. I have a 2017 SE-L Estate RHD UK spec, with LED headlights and NON LED rear lights. I found that only the right hand fog light came on but on checking established that there was a bulb fitted in the left hand cluster and could see it was not an LED through the lens. I followed the initial steps to activate but nothing happened. Then I found the key to the change that would activate it. Controller 09 - Central Electronics 16 - Security Access - enter 31347 10 - Adaptations Then look at both of the following settings to establish what the differences are. Leuchte26NSL LA72 Leuchte27NSL RC6 When viewing either of the above there are 3 values that will be different: LASTTYP which will be the top value LICHTFUNKTION either A26 or A27 and DIMMWERT AB26 or AB27 Whichever has the values in is the active lamp. You need to make a note of them and make the other the same The main one is the LASTTYP. That indicates the type of lamp you have fitted. Right down the value as you will be looking for the same lamp on the other side. All of the adaptations have suggested "32 allgemeine LED bis 12W" This is a type of lamp and may not be the same as yours. Once you select LASTTYP you will see a long list of different lamp types. Select the one that matches the lamp you already have. Then change Both LICHTFUNKTION A26 and A27 to Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaenger gesteckt and DIMMWERT either AB26 or AB27 which ever is the setting that is on 0 to match the other value. I found it to be 100. Hope this helps. I found the above in the OBD Eleven Forum . It worked fine with my basic LED rear lights which have bulbs in the rear fog lights.
  21. My 2018 facelift estate with basic rear lights had the both bulbs fitted. I enabled the previously non operating left one with VCDS . From memory I think I just copied the bulb type over from the working right side.

  23. Check your navigation menu settings. Under the " Map " menu ensure that the " Show POIs "setting is ticked then enter the " Select categories for POIs " menu and scroll to the bottom to see the newly added speedcam categories. Then tick each speedcam category to display them on your map. If the speedcams have been correctly installed and activated you should then see the cameras by using your fingers on the touchscreen to zoom in and out of different areas of the map. Also check the settings in " Nav. announcements " if you want to enable an audible alert.
  24.
