What Dashcam won’t destroy DAB signal
Thanks for this, the loos of dab isn’t strictly the camera but it’s power supply as that is what causes the interference. I’ve tried the ferrite cores but they don’t have any real effect and the only thing that resolves it is unplugging it. The reason I’m curious about the Garmin is that it’s powered from USB so may not cause the same interference. I’ve had the Chinese cameras before with hardwire kit and they do the same. I was hoping for a better results from a so called top brand but unfortunately not.

What Dashcam won’t destroy DAB signal
I just got a new Nextbase G522w front and rear kit with the Nextbase hardwire kit. it’s truly awaful to live with. Literally noting on it works properly like the app, the Alexa function, it freezes continuously etc etc. The picture and rear camera videos captured etc are fine though. Nextbase tech support have been useless giving many suggestions that simply work once and then the problem reappears. I am going to return it and have seen the Garmin 66w which is powered from a USB socket. I’m assuming that this will finally put a stop to all my dab stations being unusable. Has anyone any experience of this in their car with DAB? My car for reference is a 2017 Octavia SEL facelift.

Reversing Camera Retrofit
Yes, was working perfectly all winter long with no issues and then just one morning it was blurred and unusable.

Reversing Camera Retrofit
I had to remove mine as the camera has gone totally blurry. Lasted 6 months. Thankfully covered under warranty but a real pain to remove and post to China. Dubious on the quality now as it’s last such a short period of time.

FL Led headlight condensation
I’m getting pretty sick of this now. Washed the car yesterday and this is the outcome today. I kept the hose away from the light as much as possible yet still it has gotten in. Again upon inspection there is no sign on damage or missing sealant. What on earth is going on and how do I fix this. Any suggestions as I really don’t want to have to replace the headlight. The car only has 23k miles on it.

FL Led headlight condensation
This is getting much worse now, is there any physical access to the inside of the FL LED headlights so I can dry it out and then add silica sachets to capture moisture? I have inspected the unit and see no viable issues so can only assume it’s a very poor sealing problem.

Dash cam recommendations for those with DAB
As stated I’ve used these already with little to no difference I’m afraid.

FL Led headlight condensation
Lucky you, mine appears to be worse now and has turned to much larger droplets.

Dash cam recommendations for those with DAB
My DAB is near on perfect and I drive a lot of miles in remote areas that aren’t supposed to have signal at all. I will say that the SDL network can be very patchy.

Dash cam recommendations for those with DAB
In the past I’ve had a Chinese cheaply Blueskyea 1080p dashcam that really did work excellently. i used this in my old B5.5 Passat without any issues whatsoever. I then tried this in my Octavia and as I have it hardwired it plays absolute havoc with the DAB signal. This is due to the voltage converter to run the camera and the location of the fuses and power take off in relation to the entertainment system. I had retrofitted DAB to my Passat and had perfect signal all the time. In the Octavia I loose signal to the point that it’s now redundant. has anyone else had this issue and if so how did your rectify it?? it’s an excuse to get a new camera if I’m honest but I’d also like to sort the issue with DAB signal interruption. I have tried the little ferrite filters on the cabling and moving the transformer as far away as possible, but they made it maybe 5% better. I’m loathed to fork out £20 for a Halfords hardwire kit if it makes little to no difference and I definitely do not want a lead into the 12v supply as this would send my OCD round the bend!! look forwards to hearing others experiences and opinions.

FL Led headlight condensation
Passenger side has some condensation too but as you quite rightly point out it’s significantly higher within the drivers side unit for whatever reason. It’s funny how I never notice any VW or Audi’s with LED headlights suffer this problem to the same extent.

FL Led headlight condensation
Silly me, I should have checked first but was caught between a glass of wine and the wife giving me the evils for being on my phone so I quickly penned a post.

FL Led headlight condensation
Anyone else suffer from poorly sealed headlights? I washed the car on Sunday and with it being extra damp yesterday I awoke to some excessive moisture build up inside my drivers headlight unit. Passenger side is fine with no damp and as the I bought the car with very low miles (currently 22k) it’s not age or damage related. i believe it to be poor sealing when they were made. Yes a power washer was used but not specifically pointed or held in the direction of the lights. Has anyone gotten into the back of the lights to put some little silica sachets in to draw out the moisture? This is my usual fix as LED headlights just don’t get hot enough to burn of the moisture. Auto lights high beam assist useless
Glass is as clean as it can be. I detail family cars in my spare time. factory glass all round with matching etching on all of it. A FL SEL has factory LED headlights and under the early setting it makes no difference at all. I would say that the point about camera orientation could be valid but I have found our Alhambra to be perfect with HBA and it’s camera sits much much higher than the Octavia. Some way of adjusting the camera sensitivity would be great if it did exist.

Auto lights high beam assist useless
So I can report back now having tested the “Early” setting for the last few days back to back with our 2014 Alhambra SE basic everything with HBA. I can only say the HBA on my FL 2017 SEL is just as useless as ever. It must have a serious fault as it constantly puts on main beam for on coming cars, blinding them and conversely won’t switch off main beam or in fact switches it on when following other vehicles. It gets it totally wrong for at a guess 7 out of every 10 cars. In back to back testing on the same roads at the same ish times each evening our Seat Alhambra has yet to be beaten once!!!! I very much doubt I’ll be back to Skoda about it as they will want a kings ransom to investigate, diagnose, and remedy now that it’s out of warranty. it’s a pity because as it’s a very very useful feature to have and is very beneficial when driving on wet nights given i live in a totally rural area, and with the distraction of a car full of kids.
