  1. Hi all, I've been having a strange knock when I change from a forward direction to reverse and applying the brakes. It's a clunk sound, not brakes or wishbone bushes I've checked them an they're all solid. Some people have suggested it could be loose pads in the calipers, it's not that either. The track ends are in good condition and still very tight YouCut_20220205_164648101.mp4 , I thought I'd disconnect the track rods from the steering knuckle and check the inner tie rods. Well they wouldn't hold themselves up at all. Really loose but I can't feel hardly any play if any at all. But I can feel play when the car is on the ground and the steering is rocked from side to side. Could this be the clunk I'm hearing when I step on the brakes after changing from a forward motion to a backwards motion? See video for yourselves. Cheers
  2. Just ordered some from GSF came up straight away, 315mm long for vehicles with PAS. Sorted
  3. Makes no difference, same results show up, all I need it the correct length then I can just order them.
  4. It's a default search on euro car parts, it only comes back with parts for non PAS for some reason. I put my registration number in so why this is happening is very odd
  5. Hi all, need to change out the inner tie rods on my Fabia Monte MK2. On looking at on auto doc and euro car parts, both are coming up with different overall lengths for the tie rods. Euro car parts states the length at 275mm for every brand available. Auto doc the length ranges from 275-315mm 🤷‍♂️. Does anyone know the correct length for the Monte? On a side note, Euro car parts seem to only list inner tie rods for racks without PAS 👀 seems a bit odd. Cheers
  6. Hi all, Does anyone know the part numbers for genuine Skoda Fabia mk2 wiper blades? I've just fitted a set of Lucas blades and they don't hug the screen properly, they miss the middle of the passenger side. So I'm sending them back. So I'm going genuin original so I know they should fit properly. Cheers

  8. This is definitely a front end noise though not rear
  9. Hmmm ok, so what is actually causing the noise? I've had the car 6 years and never heard it before
  10. Hope someone can help as I can't pinpoint this strange noise. The noise is a loud click whenever I press the break peddle only while rolling backwards . It sounds like it does come from the peddle area but it seems fine. Nothing else is loose or dodgey as it's just passed MOT. 🙏 Hope someone can help diagnose this strange one. Many Thanks
  11. Out of interest how do you identify the PR code just from the picture? They aren't coloured. I assume you mean if they're zinc coated or not?
  12. When you say coloured you mean painted? They aren't painted
  13. It's a 2012 1.2 TSI Monte Carlo Plain caliper
  14. ***UPDATE*** manufacturing fault the problem was the new top mount, no rubber insert for cushioning the damper movement. I'm assuming the assembler probably fell asleep or had a bad day 🥱 Original top pic Faulty (new one) bottom pic
  15. Need to order some new calipers and the supplier needs to know what PR codes are for my brakes. My engine code is: CBZB Can't seem to find the code for the brakes on the sticker I've looked up every code on that sticker and none flag up anything about brakes. A bit confused as it seems very odd why the brake code wouldn't be shown. I know my caliper type is FN3 but the supplier wants the PR code 🤔 Any info would be appreciated. See photo attached for codes.
  16. No, the whole lot was replaced new bump stops everything, top mounts to. I'm ruling out a direct suspension noise as when standing on my tow bar and bouncing up and down you can't here the noise. It's only when the passenger wheel goes over uneven ground or bumps in the road. The noise seems to occur when the suspension is rebounding not compressing. Both sides had the same replacement parts but bear in mind the noise was just starting before I changed the dampers and top mounts.
  17. Springs are fine, nothing wrong on that front. They're still almost like new after 8 years. It's definitely a bushing or bearing knock. Obviously I can't guarantee this until I next to have another look. Have a look at the pics attached, these seem to be the suspect bushing that is causing the knock
  18. Not sure you're referring to what I'm talking about, I was referring to the rear axle (not the rear hubs) but will have to investigate either way. The dums where new about 3 months ago
  19. Hi all, Has anyone had to change the rear axle bearings on a MK2 Fabia before? I suspect that my rear passenger side is shot. It's just had new dampers and top mounts on the rear. The noise is a definite knock from under the boot floor when traveling over potholes and when rolling off speed bumps. I've triple checked the shocks are tight and I'm happy with that but this noise is slowly getting worse the more bumps it soaks up. Any advice would be great. Thanks
  20. Does any know if the MK1 Fabia front wheel hubs are the same as the MK2 where caliper mounting is concerned? Looking to get some Wilwood calipers 4 pot. They come with an adaptor for the MK1 VrS. The company called Freaky parts makes adaptors for the MK1 VrS but it looks like they don't know about the MK2 and if their adaptor would be a straight bolt on to the MK2. Thanks
  21. Just had a look and there is an anti rattle wire which runs vertically and no visible stamp marks on the caliper from the outside anyway.
  22. If I enter my registration on Euro car parts and look under fitment details it says the discs are 288mm in diameter
  23. Looking to buy an EBC disc and pad set and noticed that some of their kits fit either ATE or VW calipers. How can you tell the difference? I'm thinking they probably didn't fit 1 caliper across the whole TSI range. FYI mine is a Monte Carlo 1.2 TSI (105) Thanks
