Wiper blades

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Does anyone know the part numbers for genuine Skoda Fabia mk2 wiper blades?

I've just fitted a set of Lucas blades and they don't hug the screen properly, they miss the middle of the passenger side. So I'm sending them back.

So I'm going genuin original so I know they should fit properly.

Cheers

I have exactly the same problem with rear window wipers on my Octavia 2 estate.  Having tried several wiper blades I'm wondering if it's down to the spring in the wiper arm?

Rear wiper - No-one except Skoda makes exactly the right curvature for Skoda estate rear blades, and even Skoda don't offer the right part as a spare.

as above with Kens comment. the bosch curved blade is pretty okay, but... oem ex main dealer is the o lt definite fit. i bought 2 when i needed one for my mk1 - they had to order them, in so said get me 2 to have a spare...

I put a new set of Heyner blades on mine, replacing the same ones I put on last year. I find them decent enough and I did get a full year out of them.

Bosch are what I've got on my Fabia. However, my front ones have a tendency to "skip" across the windscreen sometimes even if it's heavy rain. I think it's got something to do with the polish I was using on the windscreen among other things.

I find the edge of mine lifts if i'm going over 80 ""kph"", doesnt make a noise though.

I find a bit of wax on the glass helps water come off easier.

Mine squeak like hell as they're skipping across the screen when they're up at the top almost... sometimes, other times they're fine. If they keep this up once the new windscreen is on tomorrow then I'll swap 'em out.

!? Do you mean a screen wax like, say, Rain-X? (other brands are available) I was always told to keep body wax (and car shampoo) off the windscreen exactly because they cause wiper judder.

AutoGlym glass polish IIRC.

Brought a good shine to my windows all round and took some of the lighter marks and scratches out of my windscreen (which is getting replaced tomorrow 😁). I'll see if I've still got the bottle and I'll grab a pic.

's'ok; I've got the idea it actually is a glass polish, so I'm not surprised you have judder issues.

Most judder issues can be resolved by cleaning the the rubbers scrupulously with a light solvent like meths, the screen should also be cleaned but has less effect, if it persists then stage 2 which works in almost all cases is to twist the whole wiper arm so that the angle of attack on the forward/return stroke is altered.

It takes a lot of force to make a permanent deformation an adjustable spanner is the ideal implement, if it gets worse then twist the blade(s) to deform it in the other direction.

Don't use magic detailing crap on daily drivers, it's for making show cars glisten like freshly laid turds.

Mr Muscle glass cleaner is just fine and dandy.

I've got the one car, and even then, I don't use those things anymore because I cannot be bothered putting the effort required in. A quick hand wash first and then I do the interior and some of the finer exterior stuff with some stuff in spray bottles from Arnold Clark. I'll keep in mind the Mr Muscle stuff. Cheers! :)

I've used literal wax before and never had an issue on any car, doesnt last that long for obvious reasons so in that sense its usually more hassle than its worth.
