  1. Have you tried cleaning the pedal or even your shoes, maybe you've got some oil or grease on there.
  2. It's true that Yetis are usually owned by mature discerning gentlemen. I could afford a Macan or similar but couldn't justify the extra cost when the Yeti is such a brilliant package for the price. If you want 'status' then you have to go elsewhere but you do have smug knowledge that there's nothing better for the size and price.
  3. Welcome, my daughter's got an aged Fabia, good little car although I'm sure you'll find the Yeti superior!
  4. My bad, moved switch to folding mirror position and it works. Didn't realise it was there at the 7 o'clock position - thanks Urrell. The Skoda manual gives a poor explanation but thanks to the forum I now have folding mirrors, although whether I'll use them is another matter :-)
  5. Mine don't fold when you keep the lock button pressed on the remote and can't remember seeing on option in settings. I'll check again later today.
  6. Mine don't fold. Think you need to specify folding mirrors as an option.
  7. More dash cams will give the police the excuse that they can rely on drivers to monitor and report driving transgressions to them. So they can concentrate on monitoring more important 'hate crimes' on social media.
  8. It's better than the system in my BMW but I still turn it off unless I'm in really bad traffic or jams where I know I won't be moving for at least a couple of minutes. Probably more beneficial to lower the mpg and emissions during government tests than for the average driver.
  9. Final update (I hope). Dealer replaced lower heater pipe. No problems since.
  10. Just done mine using a Nexbase 312Gw took about 30 mins. Next base is a very good dash cam with a great mount and hard wire kit to piggy back in the fuse box. I've fitted in a few different cars and the yeti is the easiest because the fuse box is so close. Mount as stated in the other replies. If you don't fancy doing it yourself Halfords will fit it cheaply while you wait.

  12. I think I did say there was a leak from the lower coolant pipe into the heater by the bulkhead.
  13. The clue is in the name . The space saved will be the difference in width between the two types.
  14. I've had a yeti with and without the space saver. The extra space is really useful and on reflection I'm happy my latest doesn't have a spare. I carry a tyre repair kit which will hopefully fix the vast majority of punctures far easier and safer than replacing a wheel at the side of the road. Failing that I'll call out the AA. Famous last words but I've been driving for decades and only had one puncture. As it was a slow puncture I could reinfate the tyre to get to the dealer for a new tyre. definitely will not use the gunk/sealant that comes with the car.
  15. Update, car has been fine for a week until today noticed water under the car on the driveway after a short run. Coolant is dripping from the lower joint on the pipe going into the heater right next to the bulkhead. Not sure if it's the hose not secured properly or maybe the heater body.
  16. I had this with my BMW's alloys when swapping for winters. Only way to remove was to leave the bolts on slightly loose and drive round the block making hard turns to free the wheels from the hubs. Now always put silicon grease between the hub and wheel when swapping over.
  17. Surely blocking off the EGR increase the amount of nasty soot and NOx released into the environment?
  18. Yes I will do, didn't have a choice when it happened, I can't remember the last time I needed to top up the coolant, definitely wasn't expecting it with this car!
  19. Got the new Yeti Friday evening, all was well but noticed the coolant level was near the low mark when I got home but didn't think any more of it. Set off the next day up the A1 for Yorkshire and the coolant light came on after about 15 miles. Stopped and checked and the level was low. No leaks to be seen. Topped it up to just over the max mark with about a litre of water and carried on with all fingers crossed. Checked it again after about 20 miles and it had dropped to just below the max level. I'm thinking the worst and rang the dealers about turning back and leaving it with them and getting a courtesy car, but they didn't have any. Carried on and thankfully after another 150 miles it hasn't dropped at all. Dealer rang this morning to see how we were getting on and he agreed it could have been an air lock. I'm going to keep an eye on it in case it reappears but apart from that running perfectly and really pleased with the engine and DSG.
  20. Another alternative is to use Waze sat nav app on your phone. As well as being a great sat nav app it also shows your current speed and warns you if you go over the limit. Also has accurate warnings of speed cameras and if there are any hazards or police nearby.
  21. I believe the settings will then give you the option to choose KPH or MPH
  22. Bought a tyre repair kit as my new Yeti and other car don't have spare wheels. From what I've read on this and other forums they are really quick and simple to use and should fix most punctures permanently. Just need to carry a compressor as well. 23. Interesting, never heard of these but did some googling and there's a few different types that all seem to work very well. just ordered 2 from Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004JFZGRO/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  24. Hi Ken Not accurate? Are you saying the analogue and maxi dot show different speeds or that they both over read by the same amount? thanks
