  1. Been away for about 3 years but just ordered a 1.2tsi SE L Drive DSG silver on PCH from U.K. Stock.

Previously had an Octavia, Roomster and Yeti. Got the Yeti as planning on a lot of touring around UK and Europe with Mrs TeeDeeEye and two small dogs. Previous 1.4 TSI SE Plus manual was brilliant but needed leather interior this time in the hope of keeping dog hair issues to a minimum.

  2. vRS badges on a Yeti though.... really? it cheapens the car IMO

(not to mention the vRS is actually a lower spec car than an Elegance - Yeti)

Have to agree - why buy a brand new Yeti when you really want and can afford a vRS?

First impression will be 'he bought a Yeti because he can't afford a vRS'

  3. I've got the standard Amundsen in my Yeti and the latest and greatest Nav in my Beemer. The Yeti works great and has very few minuses compared with the BMW and the Tom Tom I've got. Voice guidance works fine, works great with my iPhone 4s apart from the occasional connection issue fixed by re pairing. In many ways I prefer it to both the BMW and the Tomtom.

You can't expect a sat nav to route as well as a human who knows the roads. Satnavs are there to get you to a destination when you don't know the way.

You've probably got a duff unit, sure you'll be happy when they fix it.

  4. 1. Does it support CD text?

Don't know why use CDs when you can use Bluetooth or SD card

    2. Does it show song title when using bluetooth streaming from the iPhone?

    No

A compatability list posted on this forum shows AVRCP supported for iPhone.

    3. Can you skip tracks via AVRCP? Dont know

Anyway it's a great unit, enjoy.

  5. Average so far is around 37 MPG, but like I say it's still early days. I'll add an update when I've got more info.

37mpg - I can't get close to that even if I drive like an undertaker. I got the same model and usually get about 29-30 mpg.

Back to the iTunes suggestion, if you connect your iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth then you can play all your music, podcasts etc without worrying about transferring to the SD card.

  6. TDI, the main dealers should have all the experience neccessary to understand the electrical system in the Yeti. A lot depends on the fault/query that Mozza has.

I stand by my original advice. Understanding an electrical system and diagnosing a complicated or intermittant fault in one visit are not the same thing.

  7. Hi all,

Could anyone please recommend a Skoda garage, preferably Midlands area, that is completely on top of its game, especially on the electrical/electronics side. That can efficiently, professionaly and first time, diagnose faults and put them right without fuss. This must be a very special, first-rate establishment.

    Many thanks in advance.

You might get this level of expertise from an auto electrical business. You can't expect a main dealer or Skoda garage to have the level of experise or knowledge you demand. Try Honest John for recommendations.

  8. Indeed you don't :)

They can be useful though, my Prius had one along with sensors and I found the reversing camera really useful. The most memorable moment was when I was teaching down in Blagdon and took my delegates for lunch at the Plume of Feathers pub. One of them had a Freelander and was mocking the reversing camera as a gimmick and parking sensors are all you need.

We reversed out of the plume, with my reversing camera I was able to reverse inch perfectly over the rather deep brook outside the pub, Mr Freelander NEVER looked, reversed out, never got any beeps until his car was resting in with it's arse in the raging torrent below.

I have some great pictures of it on my mobile that I must post up.

If I can fit one to the superb with minimal fuss I will do because of these little uses, (which are no substitute for observation), and the superb has a big fat arse, and it's sensors are a bit to sensitive at times.

Please post the pics, sounds hilarious! Shame you don"t have a video as you'd get £250 quid from Youv'e been Framed

  9. I reckon you should actually get your arse into a Yeti and take the trouble to find the facts rather than relying on your overheated imagination.

Either that, or settle down again to read all the posts you've moved, deleted, closed or otherwise obliterated. If you do that you will find endless postings going back two years with people consistently commenting on just HOW GOOD the handling of the Yeti is.

But then again, I don't expect you will.

-1 calm down dear....this is a forum where people express their opinions - whoever they may be.

  10. Just to say how pleased I am with the Yeti 1.4tsi SE plus I bought yesterday. Love everything about the car, can't say too much about the 1.4 yet as she's still running in as only done 800miles. Quality is on par with the A4 i used to have, the only minus is the plastic on the doors is a bit cheap and nasty but hey who is going to buy an Audi if the quality was identical. As I never drove the 1.2 can't compare with 1.4 but very pleased with the refinement, power and torque. Fuel consumption is not great but will hopefully improve as the engine frees up. For the time being my Italian exotica will stay in the garage as I'm enjoying the Yeti so much

  11. I'm looking to buy a nearly new Yeti and decided on 1.4TSI with SE Plus spec. I don't want diesel or need four wheel drive and think the 1.4 is the best compromise between performance and economy. Should I be discounting the 1.2 from my list? The 1.8 could be an option but they only seem to be available in SE or Elegance spec. I would go for the Elegance but don't want leather and there isn't enough toys on the SE for me.

    Thanks

  12. Please read and sign the petition if you don't want this to become law.

"In case readers are unfamiliar with clause 56, it will allow any member of the British Parking Association to pursue any registered keeper of any car for any parking penalty the BPA cooks up. It's an outrageous licence to exploit."
