Water in spare wheel well
Additional information. / photos The photos show the wiring where the sheath has rotted away. It appears to be a single bear conductor with anotherbear conductor cured round it. Is it some form of sensor or aerial? A second reply will show rain water running down sides of boot.

Water in spare wheel well
I recently had cause to remove the spare wheel & to my horror found about 25mm of water. After removing everything, could not find any sign of a drain plug. I managed to bale out the water. So how did the water get in, checked all the seals etc around the boot lid, found nothing. Also I noticed thin wires in a fabric sheath, white one running from n/s to centre & a green one running from o/s to centre. Due to being soaked in water for some time a lot of the sheath had rotted away. Any suggestions how the water could have got in? Also what these wires are for? I did think of cutting them & replacing the sheathing with.

Infortainment system slow to start
When I first got my Karoq the Infortainment system seemed to start quickly. Now after almost 6 years it has become very slow to start. If this was a PC I would switch it off & the back on to re-boot it. Is this possible on the Columbus system?

Columbus Map Update 2025 (MIB2 HIGH)
Having finally managed to download last SatNav for my Columbus system. Unzipped & copied the contents onto a 64g sd card formated as exFat, update failed to load. Tried all help I could find without success.so in desperation tried using 32g sd card ready formated as fat32. It worked first time without any problem. Who knows why it would not work with 64g sd card, but I don’t care I have got the update done. ,

Traffic Sign Recognition
Does the TSR use a camera to read speed limit roadside signs (or even speed limits painted on the road) or have a location database that uses GPS to determine the speed limit?

KAROQ not used for 10 weeks.
Just got vehicle back from dealer, having had new turbo fixed under warranty - extended 5 year taken out when vehicle purchased costing about £550. Saw cost of new turbo just under£1k, excluding labour & vat. Cause of turbo failure was seized actuator. On enquiring as to reason for this, it was suggested that not using vehicle for some weeks was likely cause!

KAROQ not used for 10 weeks.
After having vehicle on charge for 24hours no change, still got same warning messages & fault symbols for engine. Had a look at error codes P25B3 & 4. Turbo wastegate stuck open & closed. Vehicle now with local ŠKODA dealer, they confirm Turbo fault. New Turbo on order, so glad I opted for 5year warranty. Think I may have got my money back. Not sure about Stop Start & ACC error messages, surely not due to Turbo failure?

KAROQ not used for 10 weeks.
Many thanks for all the replies to my post. I too suspected the battery. It has now had 12hours of charging & a 35mile drive. Unfortunately still getting all the original error messages etc. Next I need to see a friend who can check the fault codes.

KAROQ not used for 10 weeks.
After leaving car used for 10 weeks, started ok but, messages- stop start error, Acc error plus EPC in orange & engine symbol in orange & message don’t exceed 4000 rpm. Drove for couple of miles, stopped & switched off. On starting up no change. Any thoughts please, as to cause, problem & cure.

Suspension Knock
A couple of months back my Karoq 1.5 DSG was serviced. On picking it up I was informed that the rear bushes on the front wishbones were coming away from the metal. These bushes connect the wishbones to the anti-roll bar. I was informed that Skoda were aware of a batch of bushes that had a manufacturing defect. Both bushes have been replaced under warranty. With the new bushes I realise that there was a knocking coming from the front.

Jacking car up & removing wheel
Yesterday I got bored, realising I had never tried to jack my Karoq up, I thought it would pass the time. Removed jack from storage place by the spare wheel, found the front offside jacking point & jacked the car up. No problem, jack lifted the car very quickly compared with some jacks I have used in the past. So what next, I will try removing the wheel. So lowered the car, loosened the wheel nuts, sorry studs & jacked car up again. Removed the wheel, then realised just how heavy a 19” x 8J alloy wheel is. Replacing the would not have been a problem if there were studs. After a lot of wasted effort trying to lift the wheel, line the holes up & inset the stud, I found the only was to slowly lower the car until the wheel could be lined up with the hub & insert the studs. That will teach me, but at least it was an emergency! Does anybody know of another way to replace a wheel?
