  1. I have just bought a 66plate Yeti Monte Carlo with the bolero head unit. There’s no DAB option on the unit but does anyone know if the functionality is there and waiting for me? im looking to get a new head unit but unsure if I need a DAB aerial as well? Cheers
  2. Hi, have you gone any further with this? I bought a yeti last week and I am deciding which unit to replace the bolero with. Was the swap over relatively painless??
  3. Thanks anyway for the speedy reply. Guess that’s me swapping the whole unit out then!
  4. Hi pab567, are you able to offer any help with my yeti’s bolero system please?
  5. Well what I’ve noticed is a definite lag between pressure on the pedal and the gearbox/engine reacting (it’s a dsg).
  6. I’m buying a 1.2 tsi yeti tomorrow and I have been in touch with awesome gti about a remap, but it appears the limit is 130ish (oem+ remap). What else have you done to get above 140? I may be entirely wrong but I would think what was done to yours could be done to mine….or am I totally off the mark? what remap did you begin with please?
  7. The spark plugs were changed in Jan last year when the car was 10k miles ‘younger’
  8. It’s a 66plate with just over 50k with fsh (I’ve not seen that myself yet)….no idea about the plugs, I’ll be asking that question tomorrow. I did try to get the wheels spinning but even in sport mode it just contained the traction…..which I thought was a positive!
  9. Yeah it is. New brakes, discs and tyres earlier this year so I’m reasonably happy. What I’ve not seen before though (on awesome gti) is that there’s a tune for the gearbox as well…..I’m not a speed freak, and I absolutely want to make sure me and mine are safe, but a little bit more than 108hp would be nice to have. On my extended test drive it was a little sluggish/hesitant under throttle, but I’ve also seen add ons to speed up the throttle response so they could be an option too
  10. It was actually through awesome gti that I saw the one that I’m referring to, think it was the oem+ one. Now I check, apr is showing 133 on 95ron. Ah ok, I just assumed the 108hp was from the 1.2
  11. Hi there, I’m due to buy a 1.2 Monte Carlo on Friday and I have been looking at remaps. Can I ask what remap you obtained and where from? All the ones I see appear to top out at 138hp. also, does anyone know if the Monte Carlo’s didn’t have a sunglasses holder in the roof? The one I looked at didn’t seem to….or it could just be faulty. cheers
  12. Ey up Paulski, I have my profile in the car set up on eco mode so I have noticed the coasting, which I think is a nice touch. When I want to have a bit of fun I've found myself using the tiptronic for the shove, and then flicking it back into auto when I'm slowing. Ray, thanks for the offer, I'll keep it in mind 👍 I fit the wind deflectors in no time. I noticed increased wind noise straight away once I reached 40, but I'm putting that down to it being the first day, I hope the seals mould around them properly and ease the wind noise. I'll find out in the next few days when I take a trip to Northumberland.
  13. UPDATE I got the car on Tuesday and I am entirely pleased with it, the gearbox and engine combination is crazy;!I've done about 200 miles, with liberal use of the Sport button (50 to 100 taken car of in what felt like 3 seconds when joining a motorway), and the mpg is still at 65+. I'll be honest, before I got it I was searching for diesel tuners, and had my eye on those guys in Barnsley, but it now feels like a total waste of time. Fortunately that cash can go into more positive cosmetic changes.... My job for today will is fitting front and back wind deflectors
  14. Hi Splodgie, I was looking for an estate but couldn't stretch the budget, maybe next time! I wish I could've swapped the wheels from my Rapid as they're a lot nicer than the ones I will be getting (SE trim) but it's a small price to pay. Most of my energy will be spent ignoring the headlights, which I've never liked, but the black magic paint does a good job of hiding them So far I've had 3 decent test drives and I think it's gonna sort me right out. The lumbar support should help on long journeys too. I don't know how different the suspension is in the Rapid, but it never felt uncomfortable so I'd be very surprised if a higher spec and newer car was worse..... The missus had her eye on a Tiguan or similar, but I really don't see where the benefit is versus an Octavia...that being said I would have loved a Karoq but again..budget!
  15. The issue with the Rapid is head and leg room. I'm 6'6" so the seat is in its lowest position and my left knee is always poking out, it's been causing me hip pain so that's why I've gone for a dsg. What's the deal with the rear suspension then? I didn't expect huge levels of poise and balance in a none VRS car, but are you saying it's too stiff?
