Did anyone come up with a permanent fix for this, as I have recently got a 2020 SE L and I seem to have the same issue randomly, I though it may have been related to air pressure within the car, because if I have one of the doors open it seemed to work most of the time, but the more I have tested it that doesn’t seem to be the case. Most of the time when using the virtual pedal, it will unlock and get stuck, if I keep using it, it will normally open on the third go, and it always closes on the first try, so it does not seem to be a machinal issue. Is the issue heat related, as since I have had the car the weather had been hot 18c-38c, so I do not know if it wors better when its colder. Following from advice on here and googling the issue, I have cleaned all the rubber and mating metal part with silicon lubricant, but the issue persists.

I have a 2020 manual and I have a slight play with the gear knob at the end (please excuse the euphemism), I am able to twist the knob slightly, its not so loose that it feels like its coming off, but the main stick is not moving at all its just the end, so it’s not the actual gearbox. Is this normal or something that can be tightened, as I can not find a picture of the inside of the Mk4, in the Mk3 it seems to be held in place with a metal clip, so if the Mk4 is made the same way, I’m guessing its not something you can tighten up. Has anyone else has had this issue or got a fix for it.

I can't seem to make mine fit like that with the main flap centred, mine looks different to the one in the guide, as I have two flaps, one small flap that goes towards the seat when fitted, this covers the gap between the roller and back seat (you can see it folded back onto itself in the photo) and the main large flap the is the actual cover, that goes in and out. Underneath the main flap there are large plastic bits (that stop it rotating when it's in its normal place) that stop it going into the sides under the boot, if that makes sence

I asked ai how to fit it and it said you need to rotate it and it should go into the slots, this is the best I can do, but I don't know if it's correct.

So there are not some kind of insert that goes in it then, how does the cover fit in, does anyone have a photo of the cover fitted in the slots, as I can't work it out

I have just bought a 2020 First Edition 1.5 SE L Estate and in the boot I cannot work our what is missing from the side of the boot, looking at the manual and photos online, the sides of the boot seem to have one complete panel that is removable with a little handle in the middle of it. Mine seem to have these fixed ones with little cutouts in them, I’m guessing they are meant to have something in them, and on the left, there is also a strap for something. I have the boot with the two levels if that make any difference.

Well I'm hoping they come back and say it needs this update, as I'm 100% they did not update anything even thought I asked them to before collection. I believe that the OTA only work if the car has a Primary user set up, so if you have an early car it does seem you are stuck in a loop, as you can't set one up without an update and you can't get an update without setting one up, as you say the only way to fix it is a manual update from them. I'm hoping that who ever they have escalated this to "head technician" will have seen it before and asks to have the car in for an update.

If course it's at your own risk, but I can say what I would do, from what I have read about 1989 there is no more risk then any of the other updates before and the factory reset seems to sort out everyone's issue. Also the amount of people that seem to have moved to 1989 via this process or OTA updates, there seem to be next to no posts on here saying they have bugs or big issues, if there was bugs there would be lots of people complaining. The main issue you may have is getting the software, as the links that work are hard to find. My advice would be to not go crazy with the version number jump, so with the first flash get as close to your current one as you can find, then when you get up to 1941 or newer, just jump to the latest release. With regards your issues with setting up a primary user, this will not fix that for you, but there are a ton of other stability and speed fixes, even going from 1941 to 1989 was a massive speed jump for me. I am currently in talks with the Skoda dealer I got the car from about the primary user issue, as they are currently implying that being able to setup any user may not be an option going forward, as this may have turned this option off at the server end on older (ie cars older then 5 years). They are looking onto this, and I am waiting to hear back, they have also clarified that software update is not covered by the Skoda used car warranty, so I could not have the car "repaired" at a local Skoda garage (they are a long way from me), but if it needs something updating, they would do it with this. I will update in the Primary user post about this when I get a conclusion.

I tried removing fuse 19 from behind the glovebox for 10 minutes, to reset the infotainment system, this did restart the network connection, but this has no effect. I did have a bit of fun though as I took the fuse out and then dropped in down inside the body work below the fuse box, so that was interesting trying to retrieve that. Things that I have tried with this issue Updating the software in the car to the latest release 1989 Factory restoring the infotainment unit Reinstalled the android app Tried using the onboard built in network connection Connecting the car to the home Wi-Fi Using my 5g phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot for the car to connect to and attempting to set it up I have tried changing all the privacy settings from the swipe down options Removed fuse 19 from behind the glovebox for 10 minutes

I did a full reset after applying the last update, I still have the issue that I cannot set up any users, I posted in the below section about it.

I have just got a 2020 Skoda Octavia SE L and it came with the software version of 1896 and I have updated it to the latest 1989 and done a factory reset. When it was running 1896 I tried to set myself up as a Primary User but got the issue with it just saying, “Please Wait” and it would just sit on this black screen forever, I had to power off the screen to get back to the menu. Since updating to 1989 if I click register I get the same black screen with “Please Wait” as before, but if I click on login and fill in the login info I have created on the app, I get a new message “Loading Settings”, this will sit there for about 30 seconds and then give the error “Sorry, unable to load your settings” Do we know what we are logging into is it the system for are we logging into a server at Skoda, is it possible that are cars have gone over a set age that they have dropped online support for them and will never work? I have tried this using the cars inbuilt network connection and also my home WIFI, so don think its an internet connection issue.
