  1. I tried lithium grease, then followed it by some Innotec penetrating fluid, which will have washed the grease through. It’s not the end of the world though, as I can wash it through tomorrow, dry it out and put some graphite in. Though the graphite is used more for the Yale type cylinder locks which have sliders that have a weak spring to make them return to the key when it is pushed in. The Skoda and similar locks seem to have a more positive registering system, and given the number of spray lubricants available for car door locks I doubt there will be a problem
  2. I have no key fob, so there’s no problem there. The cylinder on the drivers door makes a noise similar to trying to turn a spring inside a tube, while rotating it in its reverse direction. The door lock makes this sound in either direction. I have tried to squirt lubricant inside the lock, and some around the bezel on the door handle. It is still sticking and making a noise. Anyone seen this before, and fixed it?
  3. It wasn’t me, honest. Never even saw the glass of beer.
  4. I washed my car, and thought it had stopped. I was wrong, there were more after a few hours. The deposits looked like mini turds somewhat like a walnut whip (a bit like the turd emoji) They have continued to appear, but the odd thing is I have not noticed them until this year.
  5. Aspman, sorry, but it doesn’t look anything like pumice. It looks like sand stuck together with a fragile glue as it crumbles easily. It has not happened for the last week or so.
  6. I have been getting them on the car and van for the last month at least. They are on other flat hard surfaces too, such as roofing sheets. I picked up one and had a look at it under a x20 microscope. The ones I have here are fine grains of sand glued together with something. I cleaned the bonnet this morning, and even with a clear blue sky for much of the day, a few more have arrived. It is not space debris though, as it would never survive the atmosphere given it is sand grains. The materials in your area may be different. We live on a sand ridge, but if you are in a clay area, it might not be made from sand.
  7. Did you get this fixed? Did you need to remov the glove box assembly, or was it all drivers side? (RHD model)
