The mystical 1803 if on a D\E hardware. Hmm, not sure I believe it but would happily be proven wrong.

Get the faults logged right away and in writing. Provide picture evidence too.

Ordered a PCH for a Octavia Hatch 1.5 TSi e-TEC, 2nd week of January 2021 and build date was last week.
Delivering dealer reckoned mid June to them, I just hope it's SW bug free .
Having had one for a couple of weeks, it is a good engine\electrical solution if a bit strange at first.
I hope yours does not suffer the problems that mine did. I'm sure the Dealer are having fun in mine while I'm walking everywhere now.

Ok lets get this highlighted . How do we do this with WD ?
I googled how to contact WD, there is a Web form to complete and once done so generates the long number above.
My suggestion, cut and paste mine so they know these are all linked.

Anyone thought about watchdog on the BBC. How many of us are there. I can see maybe 20 reg posters.
I'd be happy to stick my name in the ring. Anyone know how we start the process?

Interesting info there Phil. I was told today about a possible fix due soon too.

If it's still a problem, I have a template letter provided by Which Magazine that can be sent to the dealer clearly articulating the two different consumer laws that are applicable. One is more serious than the other in that it brings in trading standards with fines and legal action.
Good luck - sorry that you had to take this action. It's always going to be stressful.
They do have a letter that I put together after spending many hours researching. The template you have, would you be so kind to send it?

If they have had their one chance to fix the problem (remember they don’t get multiple attempts) then try the subtle approach, put both sets of keys on salespersons desk, and ask if they need your debit card to process the refund.Once you have notified them of reason for rejection, they have had chance to fix, then if they haven’t, any further delay is stalling for no legal reason.
In theory if you go to collect a car being sorted and they say they were unable to do it, can get money back at that point. Waffling need to talk to Skoda or some manager is just bluster, if there is a card machine on persons desk, refund can be done instantly (card machine will need a refund authorisation code, but that is to stop accidental banking error being processed, nothing to do with principle of rejection)
They have both key's, passed those to the Dealer Principle not any old sales person :).
VWSF told me yesterday to cancel the Direct Debit. So it looks like they are taking it over now.

Mine was registered the end of April, means very little though.
Not that it matters too much as its currently on the dealers forecourt and they have both sets of keys - has left me without a car though (one car family).

Wish mine was good. How do I determine the build date?

I'm currently walking through the rejection process. The dealer is trying to wiggle out if it but I'm sticking firm.

Hi,
I had one for a couple of weeks before it went back to the dealer re the now infamous Infortainment\software problems and mine had a clunk from the break pedal when auto hold was enabled - car was stationary.
I saw around town upper 40 mpg.
At the moment I'm in the steps per day as the dealer nor Skoda UK have provided a loan car. Excellent service if you ask me, paying for a car I don't have and no access to a vehicle at all.
I am walking through the rejection process though so I guess neither of them are that interested in helping me out.

Great service from Meadens, would highly recommend purchasing and servicing your Skoda here.

What can I say about these guys. I can't go into the details just yet but please avoid at all costs - you have been worned.

Just thought I'd let you all know that she went to Meadens today who found no fault or stored codes but they performed a Software upgrade on the controller.

Thanks for you help, very kind.

Stonker, would be interesting to see what errors you see - you'll probably be able to check hours before the Dealer can check mine.

Hi Scout,
Sparshatts are the supplying Dealer. As I mentioned, part the delay is from my end but they would not entertain me waiting while they looked at it, which is a first for any Garage for me.

Hi All,
Long time reader but new to posting.
Hoping one of you may be able to help. Was driving along this morning after dropping my little girl of at Nursery when the dash of my FL displayed a Headlight Range Control Error. At the time I remember two things 1) Auto lights had just turned on and 2) The road was uneven. I wasn't going quick, I'd say 25mph as the road was not the best - not many are around my location.
Once I arrived home, turned off and back on and the error did not come back and has not come back after collecting my little on this evening. I called the selling Dealer (Sparhatts) and the soonest they could look at it was mid October - not all their doing.
Do I have anything to worry about? Lights seem to be working fine.
Thanks in advance.
Why are people still ordering Octavia IVs?
in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )

I like the Octavia and disappointed that mine has had problems. I really wish VW would sort it. However, I wasn't prepared to pay hard earned money to be a beta tester.
Having said that, if I was informed at time of purchase that they have software related problems but will be fixed and we will look after you, I would have still purchased knowing that as apart from the bugs it's a great car.
Instead, I wasn't and left without a car for a week while it was at the dealership. Not the best of service for a 4 week old car.
Mine is going back to the dealer next week and I will be picking up a Superb SportLine as a replacement.
Such a shame.
A big miss from VAG.
