  1. Yes, the maps can be done yourself. I thought you're talking about the firmware in the actual head unit!
  2. Whereabouts in the country are you? If uk. Potentially, I would probably let the dealer do it or if you were close too. Yorkshire VWAG Retrofits & Solut...CollectionsAuthorised VWAG Independent Workshop Coding - Diagnostics - Retrofits - Vehicle Security Systemsbecause lots can go wrong, you need to have a power feed directly into the battery so it doesn’t run flat and then like updating a computer. If anything goes wrong, you get brick unit.
  3. Might well be iOS 18 update. What I would do is remove the phone from car Bluetooth and CarPlay options. Next remove it from iPhone again Bluetooth and CarPlay settings. Next restart phone. Now make sure Bluetooth and WiFi on iPhone. Now mate it with car. 1st wireless. It should work.
  4. Also the dealer can give an option of a 3rd spare key… without the silver detail thinner one. Cheeper but keyless entry now won’t work with these keys once the latest software update. No big issue and I like the smaller key
  5. You might need the unit firmware update if it’s v 270. The dealer has to do really
  6. I would immediately send that photo to the dealer principal of the main dealer and also Skoda customer services. Also I would probably phone Skoda Assistance breakdown cover if you’re still covered. Wood not DIY repair it! As a matter of principle. we’re all human errors happen but dealers are supposed to check everything before they close the bonnet! I had that with a SEAT dealer when they cam belt on my car, cost of fortune and didn’t do it properly left the engine bolts un bolted. Got a full refund, free MOT and also hamper as a gesture of goodwill. Luckily no engine damage done but it could’ve been quite nasty. SEAT CS in also gave a credit for next service a main dealer too. The AA man who came out was absolutely shocked.
  7. Guess you need to find a 2ed opinion. Have you looked online to the price or the turbo? New eBay or autodoc etc
  8. Not on this car but my old Leon did on 2ed service. 14500 miles. The dealer tried to charge me replacement. Was as mad as a hornet dealer replaced them for free in the end. Make a big fuss if you’ve got low mileage
  9. I would try genuine USB C stick first of all. I mess around with adapters using san disk usb stick. Both cheaper adapters and also an Apple one. Nothing worked Bought a USB C sandisk 64gb of Amazon £9. Literally within two days of a couple of hours of driving it was updated!
  10. Hi All, Thought I would share my experience for others, perhaps to find etc. Having owned a Skoda about 12 years ago, finally gone back to a Kodiaq a month ago, after Leon > ATECA. Didn't buy new this time, got a SEL 2021 7 Seat (Skoda approved) with Columbus (mib3) sat nav unit. Love the car so much better thought than my SEAT's with one exception the Columbus unit! Maps were out of date 20.3 map database, the unit kept turning itself on and off occasionally and I had the dreaded SOS emergency error light keep coming on. Two trips to local dealer (Why on heaven didn't the dealer that sold me in the car I don't know...) for them to update the software... Columbus Head unit from 0270 to 0340 and something with the SOS warning light so it wouldn't interfere or pick up interference with 5G. Having it done solved all of the issues with SOS error and also the unit keeps turning off solved with the exception of the maps would not still update!!! Downloaded the maps from Skoda portal placed onto a 64 GB USB stick with a USB adapter (Apple one) and also some cheap old off ebay. Still no joy after leaving it plugged in for a couple of days.. .. was reading in the VW forum is better to buy genuine USB-C stick (intergal off amazon). Did so still the same problem after a week.. Then I took the USB-C stick to my Mac and left it plugged in for a few hours by mistake and it kept on disconnecting. Something with the stick so purchased a SanDisk one (£9), did the same copy procedure as per the instructions, exfat etc. placed in the car and literally within two hours database was updated to 24! With all of the new road locally to me. Not sure if it needs to be left in this bit longer to do the rest of Europe or the UK I will for the rest of the week. So if anyone's having problems, make sure that unit is updated past 0270 and get a decent USB-C stick SanDisk. It seems a completely blind science how to update it plug it in and just wait with no indication of anything happening, the local dealer told me not to have the NAV map displayed only radio or info it can't update a map has been displayed.
