I am writing to request the latest firmware update for the Columbus infotainment system installed in my Škoda Kodiaq. The system has not been updated since 2018, and I am experiencing some limitations with features such as Bluetooth, MirrorLink, and voice navigation.

Vehicle Details:

• Model: Škoda Kodiaq

• Infotainment System: Columbus (MIB2)

I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to obtain and install the most recent firmware version for my vehicle.

because lots can go wrong, you need to have a power feed directly into the battery so it doesn’t run flat and then like updating a computer. If anything goes wrong, you get brick unit.

Thanks for the reply, Im in east sussex, the dealership asked for 2 hours labour minimum to do it, I did the map update myself and it went okay, it took about 45 minutes to update, leaving the engine running.

Yes, the maps can be done yourself. I thought you're talking about the firmware in the actual head unit!

I don't leave the engine running for a map update. Just ignition on and turn A/C & fan off to save battery. Someone suggested opening/closing the driver's door every 15 minutes or so to keep "the system" awake, which I do, but I'm not sure it's necessary.

I really wish you could update by country, which would be a lot quicker.

Yes I was talking about the firmware in the head unit, the maps were outdated too so I managed to get the file from Skoda website.
