rear washer
Updated information for readers: There is a 3rd pop-off joint in the screenwash piping....on a 2002 5 door the pipe follows the wiring loom (as its all taped up together) inside the dashboard to the offside and leads to fusebox. above the pedals after taking underdash out, you can barely see the wiring loom---thats were the 3rd connector is !! No way am I spending time fixing a ****ty design fault like that, So I used just over 3M of silicon vacuum pipe tubing and simply cut plastic pipe at rear of glovebox---ran it under the nearside sill trims up the rear wheel arch--cut plastic pipe again and joined it up. When I tried using rear wash it goes over the roof ! it has more pressure and I adjusted it so the jet nearly hits underside of the spoiler now.

rear washer
Help !! my 51 plate Fabia has decided that If I try to use the rear screenwash it sends a nice frothy mix from under the dashboard dropping down onto the clutch & brake pedals !! whats the chance of the pipe on nearside were it enters the car has split and is squirting it across and over the top of the heater box ?

front springs breaking in extreme cold ?
During cold spell in November, we were away on holiday so the car was parked up for at least 3 weeks without turning a wheel ( During this time there were some really cold, icy nights back home). When I did get in it started 1st time but upon gettinging it out onto the road I was hearing groan/clangs from both sides on the front, after a run around the block the car was unable to get on a full lock, something jamming. A quick trip to MOT station who seen osf was snapped, coil was still inside the spring. 1 spring was changed but when reversing it out his garage the noise was still on the nsf--it had also broken at the top. I have only ever seen a Saxo vts snap front 2 springs while parked up in a cold spell, has anybody else seen this on any other cars ?

Warning: Fabia Door Leaks
I have just done my door like this, but using white "plumbers gold" from toolstation...sets really quickly as well. I also have an old Ford Galaxy, Yesterday I took the factory roof rail off as I have a water leak through roof on one side---3 big patches of Plumbers around the roof holes--leave to cure for 10 minutes and then refitted roof rail, just need to go out now with pressure washer and soak the car to see if its ok. And then to re-check the Fabia....

Door seals needed badly
The original speakers are mounted in a plastic housing thats rivetted to metal door plate..I assume they are factory sealed.?? When people upgrade using plastc rings, I would also assume nobody bothers putting silicon on first before fitting the rings ? Just my thoughts on it. I am going to try anf fit speakers but using the factory "pods" to try and stop any new leaks

Fabia evap temp sensor - how to (with pics)
Just watched this; nice & clear and easy to follow. I am going to try and do this once the weathers got better ( monsoons out there today), but will take drivers seat out as well for easier access as I have mobility issues so struggle getting under the dash anyway. I will call back in here to let you know how I got on.

Fuse nr 7 burns
not my issue that was sorted out here, but just want to say nice one Wino !

Driver door controls not working
look as far down that boot as possible--feel if any wires are broken by wiggling them
-
Fuse nr 7 burns
assuming its a fabia 1; recent PAS issues i had with my car included (after steering failed & warning lamp was on) that fuse 7 had blown--caused lack of comms with diagnostics ? it was indeed my electric pump that had failed as control module is built in.

Brake shoe kit
so you agree that one brake does get applied before the other ? I am trying to get across to Garybaldi that as he now has the skills to change 1 side, that he should do the other as you are meant to ? (as an apprentice we watched the mech, then had to do the other side while being watched?) and then we were told why we do both sides on a vehicle. Then as we get more experienced we learn how the friction material mix is important/faults/causes and how to rectify ? there are so many manufacturers websites that we can access for free & get so much free information from--direct from the people who make them. there, marketing speech done& i'm finished with it !

fabia steering angle sensor needed please ?
G250 has always had an intermittent fault since i got car over a year ago; car was done at mates garage as i am on crutches at the minute. pump was a TRW unit from Euro, it was when it started up and worked for a bit...then it packed in on road test trying to communicate with snap on scanner it could not locate controller (pump) so it went to a 2nd tech who is ****-hot VW-Audi and he uses VCDS & dealer level kit apparently there was a coding issue with pump that meant wiping controller (pump) I got a brand new G250 from ebay from Carlisle in the meantime---as it had the intermittent fault anyway I was always under the impression it was a plug & play unit, do the lock to lock thing and drive it above 20mph dressed as santa !!! but the car proved it to be otherwise.......

Brake shoe kit
if he fits new shoes to one side, then adjusts them up manually like i do (through a wheel stud hole) then the newer ones will be nearer to the drum, gives earlier braking on one side ?

Brake shoe kit
oh well, but you get my drift.

fabia steering angle sensor needed please ?
Hello gents; The car has been done, it needed the pump and the steering sensor that was faulty, but then ended up with communication problem between the pump/sensor so it was taken to an independent VW-Audi tech who is renowned for his VCDS & diag work, It was down to a software issue ? So its back home and getting its annual service next weekend, plus i want a set of front mudflaps to put on it before the snow/grit season arrives.
