  1. Hello Forum, I am a loyal Skoda Customer and have owned 3 Skoda Octavia L&K's which I love, but I am currently experiencing issues with my current vehicle. It is a Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI 190 L&K Automatic registered end April 2019 (ie 5 years and 5 months old) and had only completed 32500 miles when the following problems occurred. At the end of July I discovered a coolant leak which the main dealer confirmed and estimated at £1292 to fix ! (replacement water pump and thermostat housing). In August whilst traveling to Gloucester, after about 180 miles I then had an automatic gearbox warning and the car went into emergency mode and only operated in the even gears. In Gloucester the next day the gearbox operated normally and for the rest of the week. However, on travelling home again after about 180 miles, the same thing happened. I then contacted the dealer who unsurprisingly confirmed the Coolant Leak and also a fault in the Mechatronics unit both of which I know are very common and very well documented issues. I expressed my immediate concern with the dealer as the car, whilst out of warranty, had only covered a very low mileage which I consider is totally unacceptable for these faults to occur. After a face to face meeting with the dealer they said they would contact Skoda however, after many follow up emails they have have now said that Skoda will not carry out any 'goodwill' repairs. They also said that they may possibly offer discounted repairs but as yet after many emails I have still yet to hear from them. Meanwhile, using the car locally (and up to 100 mile trips) the gearbox has operated normally but I am concerned that this may happen again on a long journey. Has anyone on the forum experienced similar coolant and gearbox issues and escalated/progressed these further to a satifactory conclusion as I am extremely disappointed in the outcome at such a low mileage. Regards, CJL
  2. Xman & Tell, Thanks for your input on this issue. Cheers, CJL
  3. Hi Tell, thanks for your reply, I will give the VW a try later this week. I always use CleanMy drive after unzipping to clean off the Mac inserted rubbish otherwise Columbus will not accept. Cheers, CJL
  4. I have also had problems unzipping the ECE 2022 download for my Columbus (tried twice and got a 79 error message) which I have not had before ! As a check on my MacBook I re-downloaded the previous ECE 2021/22 which unzipped without any problems and is currently installed on my sat nav, so there is clearly an issue with ECE 2022. I will look at some of the solutions proposed but may wait until the next update as I would hate to corrupt my sat nav.
  5. Thanks Bigade1 worked first time on my Columbus 😃 CJL
  6. Hi pegasus, Thanks for your post and follow up findings. I have previously been in contact with bigade1 on this and recent updates and he had already kindly sent me reconfigured zip files for my Octavia L&K Columbus MIB2.5 System. In future I believe he will resort back to the February zip file configuration which seems to work perfectly for both Amundsen & Columbus Systems. (bigade1 I hope you don't mind me mentioning this !) Note that I download the files via a Macbook and also use CleanMyDrive2 to remove any 'unnecessary' files on the sd card as suggested in earlier messages which also seems to help. Best regards, CJL
  7. HI Bigade 1 again, Just to be confirm, the reconfigured Zip files you sent me contained only MIB2 and MIB2TSD folders within the PersonalPOI folder as well as the separate metainfo2.txt file. Cheers and very best regards, CJL
  8. Hi Bigade 1. Looks like you are correct from our independent email chats that the MIB2.5 Columbus System gives a 'no data message' error with your Amundsen MIB2 compilation and Pegasus is experiencing the same issue that I had. Your specially recompiled downloads for my Octavia L&K MIB2.5 System which you sent me for April and June based on your February format worked great first time for me, so maybe this solves the mystery 😀 Would it be possible in your future updates to issue 2 separate Zip files, one for Amundsen and one for Columbus MIB2.5 if this is not asking too much of you. If you could that would be great as all the recompilations you sent me load in perfectly. Hope this makes sense and thank you so much for your continued efforts and enthusiasm in keeping these extremely useful and valued updates going. Cheers and very best regards, CJL
