  1. Sure I was being told a 'sales-pitch' in the showroom. Dealer definatley said he had a 15 no. allocation and called over to one of the other sales staff, who shouted back that 5 had already been sold.. I was able to choose the reg.no. (off an A4 list) but wasn't given the choice of Ltd Edition number (1 to 1000).
  2. You'd think Skoda would start fitting the 13.5mm gasket (official fix) as standard in the newer Euro4 engine - at least the 'stutter' is meant to be reduced by the 'fix' whilst keeping the engine within emmissions spec.
  3. Our local dealer has an allocation of 15. Placed my order on 28th Feb - I was the 6th person to do so. They said interest for the Ltd Ed was v.high, so get in quick.. One thing that puzzled me though - when I was doing the deal in the showroom, the salesman said that the new model Fabia VRS (08) wouldn't be made available to us in the U.K. - I took this with a pinch-of-salt, as 'sales-talk' only. He was making out that I should buy the Ltd Ed now, as we won't the chance to buy another VRS in the future.. anyone heard the same thing?
  4. Point taken - I'm a newbie to the site, but not to the VRS. With the huge amount of posted history on the Euro4 stutter problem, your not telling me that no-one has carried out their own 9.5 gasket retro-fix. If the new Ltd Edition VRS shows any signs of having the problem, I'll be going for the official dealer 13.5mm gasket fix - and no more!! p.s. didn't like the comment about having nothing better to do - could have done the same job of advising me without that.
  5. I've just put down a deposit on a VRS Ltd Ed, having previously owned two other Fabia VRS's - my 1st was an '04 (TunitBox & Cupra air ducts), the other is my present April 06'er, which has all the usual Euro4 charicteristics [slightly lumpy idle / v.slight hesitation / cabin shake etc..]. Like some others here, I have put up with the 'phenomenon' so far, as the other 99.5% of the time, it's a hoot of a drive.. When my Ltd Edition arrives, I am ready to expect more of the same. What I am going to do though, is have a Euro3 EGR (9mm hole) gasket ready & waiting.. if the stutter gets as bad as I've heard from others here - on it goes. If & when this action becomes nessessary, the car's going to the dealers for the approved fix (approx 14.5mm gasket hole) - once I get it home afterwards, on goes the 9mm version from my back pocket.. If the smaller one is 'discovered' some time in the future - well, it must have been an installation mistake by the dealers mechanic. Not my fault he fitted the smaller gasket without drilling it out first.. I hope someone can change my mine on this, as I've just come over with a small 'pang' of dishonestly/guilt and I havn't even taken delivery of the car yet..
