  1. I found something similar: https://www.bunnings.com.au/selleys-310g-401-rtv-engineering-grade-silicone-sealant_p1231042 Thinking this would be fine. I am down under so I had to source something similar. I have found the 3M VBH GFP and will use that as a back-up if this does not work. Thank you again.
  2. Thank you @nige8021! Would it be safe for the engine? And would there be a specific type or grade?
  3. Thank you, @T07! I will have a look.
  4. Hi, all. Just wondering what adhesive is safe for the paint when sticking the bonnet foam for the struts? Mine just came off and I have only a tape there, at the moment. It does not look nice and probably not safe in the long run. Thank you for the help.
  5. Hi, Emird. This should fit the 2015 Octy 3: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-volkswagen-audi-parts/switch/5q0713128a/
  6. Thank you, @TheClient! Happy with it, so far.
  7. Thank you for the tip, @purephotoni. I am continuously looking for different products to try. I was using Meguiar's for the longest time. Worked for the longest time but I know there are some better ones out there.
  8. Tried the Chem Guys Cherry Wet Wax yesterday. Another amazing wax from them.
  9. Got it! Yes. I have seen this link and have downloaded it, as part of my guides for this fix. Appreciate it. I have VCDS so will clear it using that.
  10. AHHH! Thank you, @BCUK. Did you just use VCDS -scanned and cleared the error?
  11. My bad. It was a thank you to @GrandmasterFaff. Hehe.
  12. Thank you for the helpful tips, @grandmasterbray. I will give it a go and maybe even make a video for everyone else to use. Keep you posted.
  13. Agree,@KenONeill. I was straightforward with them and said I am disappointed. They did not care. They will hear about it in the survey. They do have a thing about learning from people who read from fora. I noticed that. Even if the approach is a diplomatic one, they get offended, specially with issues like this, or anything they cannot fix, for that matter.
  14. Hey @GrandmasterFaff! Thank you for posting. I just got my switch today... as with most of the horror stories here, unless the error is logged even if it happened, Skoda won't replace the part. Funnily enough, they acknowledge that it is an issue but they said their hands are tied due to orders from Skoda Australia or just the policy, in general. Went to 2 dealerships here in VIC and was given the same spiel. The one today wanted me to pay for the repair (approx. AUD420) and said that buying the part and having it installed by a private independents will not help, as they are the only ones who can do it. Ha! I did not cave and just went around to parts and bought it (costed me a 3rd). This is Skoda Richmond and the other shop that declined it was Bayside Skoda. They always say to me they don't use fora (though they should because they look like idiots) and that forum people are a bunch of cowboys. He looked like an idiot saying that because he is about to get a bad rating from his survey. While I get the whole rules thing, if it is a known issue, I just cannot accept that they will not cover it, even under warranty. Now, to the question, was it easy to do? Did you have to reset anything?
  15. Hi, all. Just received an update from Dana from Ross-Tech that it has been updated. She had sent me a file to update Basic Settings 04 in Controller 4B. Please see the screenshot. Hope this helps, all.
  16. No dramas, man. Your walkthrough was spot on. I just got confused in the end so I had to contact as many people before proceeding. It's scary to mess things, up. Thank you, again!
  17. Hi, all. Just did the HBA tweak, courtesy of @wg100 fantastic walkthrough. The only thing different on how to solve the 'Headlight Range Error' is how the setting is labelled. The version I used was 21.3.0, so some options looked different. The error was annoying and I thought I had to revert the settings back and must have messed it up. Ross-Tech's support is amazing. They responded to me within 24 hours. It works a treat now and the error has been cleared. I have also gotten the hang of using VCDS. Here is the last step update fs you are using a newer version of VCDS (Module 55 Xenon Range is gone) and the Address 4B - 04 Basic Settings options that you need to click will have different labels: It will still have [*IDE03675-MAS09980*] and [*IDE03676-MAS09980*] beside them but the labels are: 'Headlight adjustment Start 1 [x]' previously 'Basic headlamp setting' click Go! to activate the setting, no need to readjust your headlights, physically, unless you are also after that and Stop, once done. 'Headlight adjustment Stop 2 [x]' previously 'Acknowledge basic setting' click Go! to activate the setting. The position should now be learned and the error should disappear. Click 'Done, Go Back' and don't forget to clear any fault codes. I have attached some photos and videos to help those having trouble. Hope this helps those still having trouble or using a newer version of VCDS. The support team of Ross Tech are top notch. Thanks, Dana. Video.mov
  18. Hey @varaderoguynot a diversion, at all, since we are on the topic of Chem Guys (and I don't work for them, haha). I thought it would be helpful to fellow Briskoders to share thoughts on cleaning products, we use. I have access to AutoGlym here and I bought their foam soap for the power washer on sale. Not a bad product, at all. A bit dear when it is full price, albeit.
  19. Hi, all. Just discovered Chemical Guys a couple of months ago. I am sure a lot of you have, earlier than I have. Thought I'd share the result of using their White Light. Happy with it and I recommend it to anyone looking for something for their white cars. I also used their rubber trim restorer: top notch product!
  20. Finally got my Sonniboy ones from Germany... top notch product and after-sales service. They respond to queries, asap. They also arrived within 3 weeks, down under. 9c5399b678cf417e9b70d85ca4672456.MOV
  21. Greetings, Briskoders. Need your guidance and sagely pieces of advice. I am about to purchase poly bushes from Superpro and was wondering if you have any info (or if anyone has installed this specific bushing) whether part fits or not? This is the part: 'SPF4176K check that you have vertical control arm bolt rear mount. Use if you don’t have any drift or pulling left issues.' This was info from the Superpro tech rep. https://www.superpro.com.au/show-product/superpro-bushing-kit/orphan-SPF4176K more info on that page. Is the lower control arm bush of the MY18 rs245 Wagon vertically mounted? That's the requirement. I cannot seem to find any information online. The car has stock suspension and I just needed to change the bushings. The help is very much appreciated. This is the whole set of bushings and response from the helpful lad at Fulcrum Suspensions: SPF4175K no issues fitting to this vehicle. SPF4176K check that you have vertical control arm bolt rear mount. Use if you don’t have any drift or pulling left issues. SPF4193K no issues fitting to this vehicle. SPF4194K no issues fitting to this vehicle. SPF3350K no issues fitting to this vehicle.
  22. Hey, @basilistsam ! Great choice on those dynamic LEDs. I got mine from ebay and have not had any issues. The install is also online. I am posting my vid and the guy who did an install. Hope this helps. I have no experience with the downlight but try ebay or superskoda. http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-2017-Facelift-MEGA-POWER-LED-mirror-downlight-KI-R Here is mine installed: This is the video of the guy who did the install:
  23. Posting photos from the workshop... just got these from Rob at Volkstech. Top notch guys!
  24. Hey @JohnnyType2 ! Thank you for the kind words. Yeah. I will get to the suspension one day. What would you recommend that won't be too low but low enough to improve handling and aesthetics? Eibach Pro Kit? I think the Sportline is too low. Or I just save money to upgrade to a KW DDC Coilover down the road when the suspension needs an overhaul.
