  10. Hi I had a mobile mechanic come yesterday to put a new expansion tank on and do a flush as the water had gone dark . And put in new pG13 pink antifreeze he took off the bottom driver's side radiator hose and flushed it out with fresh water connected it back up and filled with The pink G13 but only got 2 ltr in then run up the engine to temp so the thermostat opened the pink antifreeze turned dark again he said it's because the water in the block didn't drain out and the water pump will need taken out to empty the water out is there another way ?
  11. The dip stick level has stayed the same so I guessing the garage topped it up even though the water is dark no sign of oil though in the expansion tank . But I'm going to change the header tank and put a new oil cooler housing Inc oil cooler then put put new G13 antifreeze in hopefully Wednesday and then see what happens
  12. I don't think my expansion tank is brown inside it looks clean
  13. Thanks for the reply I've decided to put on a new Expansion Tank without a silica bag in I've also spoken to a mobile mechanic and he's said the black water is due to the oil cooler gasket going and it's getting into the water Sounds likely
  14. Hi all I had a full service on the car done . It came back and I looked at the header tank and it was over filled right to the top and not at the max- min level the water is black not pink as before so I took some out which was between the markes before . It says on the tank mit silica but I've searched for it but I don't think there's one in there could when it's burst could it change the water colour
  15. How easy is it to change the coolent in the radiator
  16. No it was a ex lease car so in late 2017 when I bought it it had 112000 miles on it . I've decided to try and remove the switch a disconnect whatever wires are on it and maybe get to the back of where the beeping comes from and see if I can stop it . When it started was around the time I took it to a auto electricians because I thought it was draining the battery all he found was a tracker behind the dash which he removed
  17. Hi Happy Sam that's the first thing I looked at and there no photo or mention of a switch in the glove box . Another thing I forgot to mention is on the back of the closing lid there's a square been cut out of it so when it's closed it doesn't hit the rocker switch when it's shut
  18. Hi all I have a Octavia Mk3 and have a bleeping noise which bleeps twice when starting off there's no warning messages on the dash . It's been doing it for a couple of year . So yesterday mot time I had a diagnosis done and me found some codes and deleted them . But the bleeping did not go away . On further examination he found what he said was a small rocker switch in the glove box which he said was aftermarket and some wires under the left side of the center console which he said was not normal. Can anyone take a photo of the inside of the glove box just above where the glove box cooling control is that's where the aftermarket switch is. Just to confirm it's not a normal switch. Before I get a auto electrician to investigate
