Random beeping noise and unusual wires (Skoda 2014 mk3)

Featured Replies

Hi all I have a Octavia Mk3 and have a bleeping noise which bleeps twice when starting off there's no warning messages on the dash . It's been doing it for a couple of year . So yesterday mot time I had a diagnosis done and me found some codes and deleted them . But the bleeping did not go away . On further examination he found what he said was a small rocker switch in the glove box which he said was aftermarket and some wires under the left side of the center console which he said was not normal. Can anyone take a photo of the inside of the glove box just above where the glove box cooling control is that's where the aftermarket switch is. Just to confirm it's not a normal switch. Before I get a auto electrician to investigate

Any oem switch would also be mentioned in the owners manual.

Hi Happy Sam that's the first thing I looked at and there no photo or mention of a switch in the glove box . Another thing I forgot to mention is on the back of the closing lid there's a square been cut out of it so when it's closed it doesn't hit the rocker switch when it's shut

Put in extra words

It’s not an old police/ambulance car by any chance?

@a1topdog may be able to help although I appreciate his project is a Mk1.

No it was a ex lease car so in late 2017 when I bought it it had 112000 miles on it . I've decided to try and remove the switch a disconnect whatever wires are on it and maybe get to the back of where the beeping comes from and see if I can stop it . When it started was around the time I took it to a auto electricians because I thought it was draining the battery all he found was a tracker behind the dash which he removed
