  1. Update: Test-drove the car in question yesterday. 1.5TSi SE Estate, DSG. (6700 miles only). Very comfy, cushy ride, especially on the 16s. Was able to take the car out by myself, as is policy right now, with half a tank of fuel for 'as long as I needed to'. So effectively replicated some of my typical back road driving, motorwaying and town/city driving over around 35-40 minutes or so. Notably comfier than the Fabia, very lazy, easy drive. Didn't feel as big as it actually is, partly due to it being the same length as a regular Octy (and the same length as a Pug 407 that my dad used to drive, which I borrowed intermittently one summer). Thought it was boomy initially but had a fiddle with the radio and found that the bass, and nothing else, was turned all the way up. Turned that down et voila. Seating position was great and barely felt any potholes/cats eyes/etc. so a marked improvement again over the Skabia, as I've lovingly dubbed my Fabia. Not the best looking beast but more than punchy enough, was solid overtaking on the motorway between 60 and '70' ( 👀 ) with plenty of torque from low down, the eco mode was stellar (if a little unusual with the coasting), didn't feel it change between 2 and 4 cylinders on the motorway and despite a bit of a thumping, over 15 or so mixed, varying gradient miles, was still around the 40mpg value. Could DEFINITELY improve on that. In short, pretty sold on it - two services would come free with it so that's quite nice to not have to worry about.
  2. This is the style in her Polo, FYI. @FabiaGonzales
  3. Got a picture of your radio? Curious to see whether it's the same style as in the OH's Polo versus the style in my Skabia. I'd say it's not electrical noise/interference otherwise it'd happen with Android phones too, right?
  4. Any ideas on this little query? I'd have guessed it's a similar story, however I have mentioned (and will continue to mention) my other half's 2017 Polo which has had ZERO issues with CarPlay since day 1.
  5. +1, I have these in my Fabia and they're great. Rugged and not smelly.
  6. Checked out SuperSkoda website?
  7. You're like my other half. 😂 She's done 15k miles since she picked up her car 3 and a half years ago (almost). Bear in mind this includes a drive to-and-from Belgium, London (twice), Stratford-on-Avon (thrice) from SW Wales. The journey lengths are typically 15-25 minutes at the moment, mostly city with some light, 70mph dual-carriageway. If/when things resume normality, would be the above 3 or 4 days a week with the other one or two days being a 100 mile round trip, around 1 to 1 & 1/2 hours each way. I can understand the value of a diesel in that case but I'd rather a petrol.
  8. That's reassuring, diolch yn fawr Llwyngwernog.
  9. Thanks for the insight but personally I don’t want a diesel car herein, sorry should’ve made that clear at the beginning. Conversely, during this lockdown/restricted movement thing we’re going through my mileage is down to around 560/mo. There is a possibility of it going up to around halfway between the then and now before toooo long but that might all change again.
  10. Looking at changing my Fabia Colour Edition (95ps, 5sp Man) for an Octy Estate (facelift, 150ps 1.5tsi, DSG). I’ve seen reports of the 1.5tsi kangarooing (apparently typically fixed now when requested via ECU update, affects manual more) and the DQ200 7sp DSG (apparently affects the older 6sp variant more). Are either worth me losing sleep over? The car is a 68 plate, and apparently all 1.5tsi’s going through the dealer in question are given the kangarooing update as a matter of course. My mileage is varying more recently, but maximum of around 1,450/mo, mostly motorwaying. Cheers all!
  11. Any idea whether this is prevalent on the ‘68/‘19 plate Octavia? Looking quite likely that I’ll be changing to a DSG+Estate one of those in the near future and part of me wants to keep a close eye out for that because it’s bugged me no end in the Fabia.
  12. Morning ladies and gents! CarPlay is great... however, I'm getting random stuttering during songs when playing Spotify via CarPlay. I've tried downloading the songs so there's little 'buffer' and it carries on. It's a micro-second stutter intermittently. I've only tried with a new Syncwire cable (decent quality) and will try with a proprietary cable but it's a fairly widely reported issue from what I've seen. iPhone is up-to-date for what it's worth. Anyone experienced the same and have any fixes? Edit: I don't get any stuttering whatsoever through Bluetooth.
